I flew over from the US last month to stay in the beautiful Lake District for 2 weeks. The place itself was recommended by my friend Frank Garrett who previously stayed here, it is an amazing and relaxing place for those who want to just get away for while. Fast Wi-Fi was provided and I was able to watch my...

I read some of the reviews here and think they are unfair. If you want a corporate business style approach to customer care, visit one of the chains. If you want to visit a warm and friendly guest house, with charm and character visit here. The owner is very welcoming and refreshingly honest and down to earth. He told us...

I stayed here with my son Mike, and my agent John. Mike just spent the last TWO YEARS in Walnut, so he was in need of a good family vacation. We did our research and decided the Lake District in northern England was perfect, and settled on staying at the Brendan Chase. David, the owner, is a very well respected...

Let's start with a list of the positives since it's easier to get those out of the way. The B&B is in an extremely central location, essentially in the center of the town. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Finally, the room, although small, was comfortable and clean. The rooms do not have en suite toilets...

Reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, a well meaning host who appears to be drowning in his chosen retirement profession.A nice comfy bed is probably the highlight of the visit. Breakfast was strictly 8AM to 9 AM,at 9.01 you've had it mate! On a general note it's cheaper to go to London for the weekend than stay in our beautiful Lake District...

The owner is attentive and helpful. Great value for money in a great location. No frills but more than adequate. Nice chap to talk to and would definitely stay again if in the area. Parking outside on the street was not a problem.

My 14 year old son, wife and I stayed here this past June. The location was fantastic - very central. Restaurants, shops and laundry within walking distance. The property was well maintained and David, the owner and operator, was very thorough in handling all the details to ensure that his residents were well informed on the local sights.

This B&B is at a very convenient place, very close to train station, town center etc. Rooms were relatively clean. There is dust on the furnitures. En-suite bathrooms are tiny but OK, looked rennovated. Breakfast was decent as well. You have to be there strictly between 8 AM-9 AM else no breakfast. There was a kettle, cups, tea bags, milk...

Stayed at the Brendan Chase and had a wonderful time. David Maloney has a reputation for being a well respected individual and I can see why. He's sharp, funny, and a great host. Hes quite wordly as he's spoken to people in Alaska, Oklahoma, and the eastern seaboard of the United States. I would give the Brendan Chase 5 stars....
