I booked this hotel as a package deal that included a nights stay, a 3 course evening meal and breakfast as a birthday gift to my partner. We were staying with our dog and were pleased to be given a room that was near to reception for when he needed to go outside. The room was

The hotel is very comfortable. The service and food is excellent. It is exactly 0.9 miles from Windermere and the same from Bo'ness and on the steep side of a hill, so walking involves quite a lot of 'up'.

My daughter initially bought me a Christmas gift via buy a gift. It was for afternoon tea for two at Hillthwaite Hotel. My husband decided to combine this with an over night stay for my birthday in February at the same hotel. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 12 noon. A

Stayed here in Feb for 3 nights. The room was lovely, very spacious, 2 TVs and bathroom nicely fitted with a bath, my only criticism would be that the carpet wasnt fitted properly coming out the bathroom and there was no stool to use at the dressing table. The food was fantastic

Dear SunSeaSalad, i would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your valued feedback and for choosing to stay with us here at Hillthwaite for your 3-night break in February. While we always aim to provide guests with the best possible experience reviews such as yours help us to identify room for improvement, but i apologise that not everything was to the high standards we strive for. Room 19 had just been refurbished so i am glad you found this to your liking, however we have just had a new carpet fitted following your stay to rectify the issue that you mentioned - i am sorry we could not get this done prior to your visit. I would hate to think that any of my staff are ever rude to guests and this will most certainly be investigated and action will be taken to ensure the friendly service that we are known for is not tarnished by such incidents. I take note of your comments relating to the leisure facilities. We try not to describe them as being a 'spa' for the very reason of not wanting to heighten guest expectations, so i am sorry if you read this 'spa' description somewhere - perhaps on a third party site or other guest review. We feel the facilities are an added bonus and provide an additional space to unwind after a long day out and about. I will look to have the photographs changed following our installation of the new steam room. The jets sadly had to be removed for technical reasons, but the heated pool, sauna and new steam room should all be functioning for guests. I am glad the issue you mentioned was resolved professionally upon your departure and hope you will choose to make a returning visit some time in the future.

You can use the swimming pool and sauna as a guest at the hotel. It’s not one of those big hotels with a huge spa so I doubt that they would do spa packages. It’s just a really nice small hotel with lovely food and great staff.

Hi, we didn't pay any extra to use them. I believe they are free for all guests. I looked at the hotel on a few different websites and there was no mention of a charge. We were also told by reception we could use the pool even before checking in if we wanted to. I don't think you would get a spa package as such as it's just a pool and a sauna. They don't do treatments- or not what I know of.
