My partner and I have just had a fabulous weekend at the Glenville House. It was our first stay there and we will without a doubt be returning. Jane & Peter gave us a very warm welcome and the choice for breakfast was excellent. We have stayed in several B&B's in the Lakes and this is by far "THE BEST". Looking...

We stayed here from 7th - 12th February and it was just what we needed. B&B set up worked well for us and the breakfasts were very good indeed with plenty of choice and extras, served by Peter with a big smile and a bit of Geordie banter every morning. We had Room 6 on the top floor which was...

This trip was a present from my better half. I had dropped massive hints about a stay in the Lakes and so he booked Glenville House and I'm so glad he did - I didn't want to leave. We both have busy stressful lives and wanted somewhere peaceful and an escape. Grenville House was all this and more. We stayed...

My partner and myself recently stayed here for the weekend. After a last minute change of plans deciding not to stay in Barrow, we turned around to Windermere. After looking at the reviews we decided on Glenville and were not disappointed. Very comfortable room and bed, with lots of nice little touches such as homemade biscuits with the tea and...

My partner and i have just spent a wonderful two night break at the Glenville House in Bowness on Windermere, booked through a Groupon offer, which included a days use of a boat cruise and a box off chocolates. The hotel is one of the best we have stayed in, perfectly located in between the village of Windermere and Bowness,...

Conveniently located to walk into either Bowness or Windermere. Comfortable room, though if stairs are a problem let them know. We were on the very top floor which is quite a climb. Fine for us but could be difficult for someone with some mobility issues. Some really nice welcome touches; complementary cakes and biscuits at the front reception desk (as...

My husband and I have just spent two nights at Glenville house as a base for exploring Windermere. We had a great time, helped immensely by choosing to stay here. The room was delightful, with all that we needed and more! Lovely thoughtful touches such as homemade ginger wine & cookies in our room added to ur stay, and the...

Location is great, about half way between Bowness and Winderemere. Our room was very nice with a huge bed, and I do mean huge. I couldn't fault the room at all, in fact I couldn't fault the place at all. Peter & Jayne have everything covered, water in the room and other "little extras" - all of which really nice...

Just had a short stay at Grenville House in lovely Windermere. The hotel is compact and neatly placed between Windermere and Bowness but what made it really special was the care and thoughtfulness of the owner, Peter. There were flowers in the room plus a selection of home baked and delicious biscuits. The rooms were cosy and really comfortable and...
