We loved our stay here and will definitely return. We booked a small double, but there was still plenty of space for everything in the room, which was absolutely spotless. The price was reasonable too. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay. We received a very warm, friendly and helpful welcome here. The breakfasts were also fab...

We had stayed here before 2-3 years ago and were looking forward too returning. We weren't disappointed, it was excellent. We stayed in room 4 on the top floor, the stairs up to it are steep and would be very difficult for anyone with mobility issues, however when you are up there the quality of the room is superb. Cracking...

My wife and 16 month old stopped here in the 16th and 17th of April 2017. We stopped in the family room which is of a good size and on our request they set up a travel cot for out daughter to sleep in. The room was very clean and well appointed, the bathroom is modern and absolutely spotless with...

This was our 4th time staying here. It is faultless, from the gorgeous rooms, fabulous breakfast to friendly staff. Philippa and Trevor make you feel like family from the moment you arrive.A special mention must go to Fiona who kept hubby topped up with coffee every morning! We were there Easter Sunday and were greeted with bags of mini eggs,...

A touch of serendipity helped by Google brought us to this amazingly good quality guest house. Warmly welcomed on arrival with coffee and biscuits. The standards of service from two very dedicated owners remained very high throughout our stay. The rooms are of very good quality with high end bathrooms with some very modern technology including very high speed wi...

We have just spent a week here in room 6. We chose room 6 because my husband is disabled it is on the ground floor and has a large wet room. The room is spotless as is everywhere else here. The room is serviced daily and you get a good selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate etc. Philippa and Trevor...

As a gift for my 70th birthday my family bought my wife and I a 2 night stay at the Hawksmoor Guest House. They chose this guest house because my daughter and her husband had stayed here last year and had nothing but praise for the hosts, accommodation, breakfast, in fact everything. We were in room 6, which is situated...

This is a beautiful, quality and very well run guest house and the attention to detail is exceptional. Philippa is a lovely welcoming and friendly host, very knowledgable and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean, really nicely decorated, bright and sunny and spacious. We even had a fridge - very handy for the champers as it was my hubby's birthday!!...

First time visiting the lakes in a long time and was more than happy with our choice of place to stay. Philipa and Trevor run a quality establishment and couldn't have been more welcoming. The room we had was spacious, with a huge bathroom with shower, bath and underfloor heating ( which was most welcome as the weather was tragic)....

What a great place to stay! This was our first visit to the Lake District and the choice to stay here couldn't have been better. The room was perfect, breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice to cater for everyone. The view from the balcony of our room overlooking the stream and woods behind was lovely. The service provided by...
