Sisters Away wrote a review Yesterday

After a very long awaited weekend away, me and my sister arrived in Windermere during the hot sunny weather for a stay at The Archway Guest House, situated down a quiet road. We were met by Anita who greeted us by name and her husband Denis. They showed us to our room "Windermere" with amazing views of the surrounding hills and provided a fan and jugs of cold water to keep us cool ! Anita and Denis were very warm and welcoming with lots of knowledge of the area. After showing us to our room they offered us a piece of home made lemon drizzle cake  and also provided fresh milk for a welcomed drink after our train journey. The cake was delicious and a really nice  addition to the welcome. Anita and Denis were wonderful hosts throughout our stay always going above and beyond. Asking if there was anything we needed and taking an interest in what we were doing during our stay, as well as offering lots of useful information about the area, such as local walks and places to eat. The guest house is wonderful too, with lots of unique art work and an ecclectic mix of objects from around the world. We can't wait to visit again and we are already planning our return to the Archway Guest House. Thank you Anita and Denis.

What can we say? What a wonderful review of your very recent stay with us. We are very pleased that you and Tracey enjoyed your visit to The Archway. Thanks for all your great comments and we really appreciate that you took the time to write such an extensive review of your time here. We always try to make our guests feel at home and we are happy that you both did. Fans and cold water were definitely needed whilst you were both here, unusual temperatures in Windermere! Thanks a lot for staying with us and we are already looking forward to hosting you again soon! You still have to have your afternoon tea next time :-) Best wishes to you both and thanks for booking direct with us. Denis and Anita

Just stayed here for 3 nights and cannot recommend enough. As other reviews have said Anita & Dennis are lovely people & fantastic hosts who deliver an exceptional service. From arrival they are welcoming and cannot do enough to help you plan your time recommending walks, places to see & restaurants. The room was small but lovely and had a huge bed with sheets that would be found in a five star hotel. High standard of cleanliness which is a must for me and to top it off a fantastic breakfast that sets you up for the day. Will definitely be recommending to family & friends and hope to return in the winter. Thank you Anita & Dennis for a lovely break. Nicola & Martin.

Wow, thank you so much Nicola and Martin for writing such a fantastic review of your 3 day stay with us. It was pleasure having you both here and we enjoyed our breakfast conversations (and on departure :-) We are very pleased that you enjoyed what we have to offer and that you found everything to your liking. You also had great weather, maybe even a bit too warm, but how many times does that happen in the Lake District? We are looking forward to welcoming you back in Winter and if you would like a bigger room please book our Windermere room at the front on the first floor where you have lovely views of the fells. and 2 seats at the window. Best wishes to you both and enjoy your Summer! Denis and Anita PS Please remember to book direct on our website for the best price guaranteed.

Stayed there for two nights - great experience overall! All the facilities and comfort of a good hotel combined with the warmth and charm of a cosy guesthouse. The hosts, Anita and Denis, were wonderful and provided a superb service. Our room with mountain view added to the overall experience and the location is as good as it gets. Watch out for Denis’s delicious Caribbean breakfast and Anita’s lovely lemon cake and cookies. Will stay there again when I visit the Lakes.

Wow, what a lovely review Ritika and Mayur; it was great having you both here and we are very pleased that you had a good stay with us and appreciated what we have to offer in our B&B. The Coniston where you stayed does have great views, depending on the weather of course, but during your stay you had tropical temperatures :-) Next time have a swim in one of the lakes and there is a lot more to see and do. We hope you will come and visit again whenever you need a break from your busy lives. Denis is happy that you enjoyed his breakfasts. Thanks for booking direct as that gives you the best price. Looking forward to hosting you both again. Best wishes, Denis and Anita PS Book early if you want a room with a view (Windermere and Coniston).

Me and my friend stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. Anita and Denis are excellent hosts and I can honestly say it was some of the best service I have ever received. I will definitely be staying with them again :) The room was a twin room and had two very comfy beds in it and there was always fresh bottles of water and homemade cookies in the room. The breakfast was always delicious from their full English to their bagels and I even had a taster of the Caribbean breakfast which was something I had never had before and was very yummy. They are also in a really convenient location, in the centre of Windermere with easy walks to the Lake. Their place is one of a kind and I can’t wait to stay with them again soon :) Thank you Anita and Denis!!
