Now let's get to the point here. You read reviews and you think" It can't be that good" Wheatlands Lodge is absolutely fantastic. If I've got a moan, you will hear me. On arrival, we were met by the owner, shown to our room. The room was spotless, immaculate to be honest. En suite was the same. Can't fault it... More

Received a very friendly welcome. Room very comfortable and clean with 2 easy chairs and good sized television. Breakfast was excellent. The homemade jams, yogurt and bread were delicious. A good selection of cereals and fruit. The cooked breakfast was beautifully cooked. The most delicious breakfast I have eaten in a hotel . Ample parking. Easy walking distance to the... More

We have just returned from once again a lovely weekend at wheatlands lodge. Some friends came with us for the first time and even said that they would return. Dorothy and Kinda looked after us and we were treated with coffee and freshly baked cakes. The rooms are immaculate lovely and spacious with beautiful bathrooms. Breakfast was freshly cooked and... Last week myself and my fiance stayed at Wheatlands lodge for one night. My fiance had planned a proposal and we were allowed to check in early, and upon arrival the bed was decorated with rose petals. The breakfasts were lovely and accommodated my gluten free diet as I am a ceoliac. All staff were friendly. We will be sure... More

We arrived for a 3 night stay for our wedding anniversary and were met by Richard, who showed us to our room. He was a really lovely man, very friendly, informative and welcoming. We stayed in a master room (room 8) on the top floor which was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and has an enormous bathroom with separate bath and... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, in room #3 - good for single, will be far too small for a couple. When I arrived (some 5 minutes walk from train station), I was welcomed by the smiley Dorothy who showed me the room and offered me tea and cake. The room (I think it's called Club Room) is nice and utilised... More

Recently stopped at the Guesthouse for two nights! The owner was very pleasant and welcoming (tea and cakes on arrival) and the breakfast is really good (non greasy and homemade bread). We opted for a full English but you can pick from a menu e.g salmon and scrambled eggs etc. I wouldn't say this is a 5* place, however it's... More

Have rated this 4* but in actual fact it was really 3½*. We were greeted by Dorothy and advised the owners were away, upgraded to a Master Room at no extra cost. Very spacious King Size room with all you needed. A fantastic, if over-large bathroom (it actually echoed!) with separate bath and walk in shower, all of which was... More
