Our easily accessible location provides the ideal base for exploring the best of the Lake District. What an experience of sheer luxury. This is a unique property, literally in the water of Lake Windermere, and is on another level. The views are stunning, as is the standard of decor. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience something unique.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a very mini break at Hill of Oaks. We wanted to be on the lake shore and also wanted to take our dog. To meet both of those requirements left us with one choice - the accessible glamping pod - Claife Heights. It looked perfect and we weren't disappointed. Pre arrival information was comprehensive and we received a warm welcome. It was lovely to be able to let ourselves in (I always think that adds to a sense of ownership - albeit for 48 hours!) and we were delighted by how warm and cosy the pod was. And there were gifts for both us and our dog too! After a short walk in the woods opposite and a quick dip we had a bbq on the deck on the first night. The next day, having woken to the sound of the ducks and the lake lapping on the shore we cooked breakfast, stocked up on dinner at the shop and then drove off to walk the new Windemere Way. Sadly it was pouring and didn't stop but hey, what do you expect in November! Looking forward to returning when we can benefit from the stunning views when the days begin to lengthen again. …

Best place I've stayed everything was perfect would recommend to anyone the pod was spotlessly clean
Staff were fantastic always at the end of the phone to help if needed the shop had everything needed and very helpful staff in there who recommended going to bowness town had the best trip and booking again for march

Loved our stay at silverholme. Lovely cosy, warm and so well equipped property with such a view over the water. The views from the lounge and master bedroom were to die for and as it was low season the site was tranquil and peaceful just what we needed. Staff were so friendly and helpful too thanks a million x

This site is the perfect combination of quiet but with enough around to make it a great choice. We stayed in the lake front pod with our dog and it was fantastic, the views were stunning and the pod was exactly what we were looking for. There’s a shop on site which sells a variety and the walks were also great. Highly recommend and will be visiting again!

We recently had a four day stay in a dog friendly woodland cottage. The cottage was a real home from home, clean, warm, equipped with everything you need, & as always we particularly loved the wood burning stove to snuggle up with in the evenings! There was also a thoughtful complimentary goody bag for our dog & lovely soap & moisturiser gift bag for the humans! We have stayed at Hill Of Oaks in the past and love the site due to the trees and lake frontage and we find it a perfect base for driving to visit other areas around the lake and beyond. Many thanks for a lovely peaceful break!

Pleased with the accommodation which was ideal for our short (4 night) break. The lodge was clean and comfortable. Lake view was limited but OK. Signage could be a little clearer although a new exit sign did go up whilst we were there. An external wall socket could have been useful for our car charging and may attract more guests as there is only one charging point available and this is some distance from many of the rooms and lodges.

The Great Langdale pod is amazing it has everything that you need it’s the biggest of the pods .The bed was so comfortable and I have collapsed discs in my back and that was my main concern but I slept great . Having that extra space made the pod more homely .The en-suite bathroom was spotless and with it being autumn I thought it might be chilly on a night but it was fine because we had a heater which was great and the views are amazing and so was the stars on a clear night I’ve never seen so many stars .Overall I would highly recommend this pod to anybody thank you Hill of oaks we can’t can’t wait to come back .

We loved staying here in a dog friendly cottage. Very nicely furnished, exceptionally clean and loved having a log burner and own outdoor area. Few minutes walk to the Lake shore. Beautiful location. Highly recommended.
