A very popular restaurant after a visit you will realise why. The food is excellent fare. We must have tried nearly the full menu by now and never had a complaint. If your a dessert lover you'll not be disappointed with the ice cream sundae. The only complaint is that if you go early it can be a bit on...

The four of us booked in for an evening meal, and found a very pleasant greeting. After drinks in the traditional bar area, we were shown through to our table in the very pleasant conservatory dining room. Food was excellent. Hot and extremely filling portions. Service from the beginning, and throughout the main course was excellent. Staff ensured everything was...

90 of us were here on Saturday night for our annual dinner. The food was EXCELLENT--I think there must have been approx. 20 homemade desserts to choose from!!--- and to serve so many people at once so easily was down to great organisation by all the team. I have only had positive feedback from our guests. Plenty of friendly staff...

Bobbed into the Calf's Head after a morning on Pendle Hill after the Grouse. We were fogged off but a very damp team were soon cheered up with a few pints of local beer and some spicy chicken goujons. Service good, atmosphere was local Pub an hour after the rush. Can't fault it and will be back!

Pine furniture crammed into a conservatory topped by rouched pink cloth. It looked like a retirement home at Christmas ideal for the elderly clientele who were happy with cottage pie, game pie, fish pie and fish and chips. This is a place for the unadventurous. We left without eating.

Have just left the Calf's head following an incident where a boy from another party threw my 4 year old son into the unfenced, unsafe river flowing through the garden. Upon informing the staff of this incident I was told "I don't see how that's my problem", without offering either an inquiry as to my son's welfare or a towel....

I took a group of 40 wi members to the hotel for a 2 course Carvery lunch. The service we received from the minute we arrived at the hotel until we left was excellent. The lady in charge and the waitresses were so efficient and friendly. The food was of a very high standard and served piping hot. No one...
