We stayed here after an error with our original booking, the landlady was very welcoming and friendly. Got us checked in quickly and explained the parking situation for us which was very helpful.

The room we booked was a standard double and it done the trick for just sleeping in, however it was quite small with the TV above our heads which we found a bit odd.

The shower was awkward to get in and out of and the doors didn't fully close meaning there was some water on the floor once we got out.

The decor is dated and the bedding did have some dirty marks on it, the bed felt quite small and made a noise every time you moved and wasn't the comfiest.

The location is great just up from the tower, but far away enough not to be right in amongst it.

To be honest we still had the best time regardless of above so it couldn't of been that bad.

Stayed for 4 nights in this hotel with my partner,we were celebrating 14 yrs of being together. The hotel was very nice & the owners were very nice & welcoming.
Very clean, rooms were immaculate. Food was nice home cooked . The cooked breakfast was excellent, good start to the day. Really enjoyed our stay if we come to Blackpool again we will be staying in this hotel as it had a warm welcoming feeling to it......

Apart from the dated decor and a background whiff of smoking in the entrance, I only have good things to say.

The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The owner was cheerful and helpful, laying on breakfast for our party of 8 at an early 7am to suit us.

Well worth 35gbp per night for an ensuite double.

The only positive thing about this hotel is it's location.
On a bad note. When we arrived we couldn't get into a property, luckily the passers by let us in. When I called the lady, who answered and told her we can't get it, the impression I got from her- she wouldn't help us and we would be left struggling outside.
Our room was on the second floor, which is not ideal climbing up and down with a 4 year old, especially coming tired from town.
Our room was facing busy street with cars didn't wind down driving till 2am. There was small light coming from the corridor, which was switching off by itself around 1.30 am.
The double room, could not be called double. It is far too small for two people. Shower cubicle is tiny. After having a cold water running for ages, I went downstairs and told the landlady. She told, just to open and wait for it basically. Not good.
Shower cubicle dirty and dusty, some mould on the inside. Shower head falls out and you cant lift it to the required hight.
TV is put up on the wall on top of the wardrobe, which I found bizzarre.
Double bed is more suitable for a single occupancy. Bed duvet is too warm for hot summer days, thus makes uncomfortable to sleep.
Breakfast was pre cooked and microwave heated.
Landlady cool and reserved. I didn't find her friendly or welcoming.
Wi fi didn't work in a room and only seemed to pick up at the reception lounge.
Won't be back and do not recommend.

Tiny rooms, terrible breakfast. Cheap poor quality ingredients!
They didn't ask what we wanted for breakfast they just assumed we wanted cheap sausage, runny egg, cold toast etc.
Coffee and milk in room disgusting. Over priced!
Would not stay here again or recommend!

1. This establishment has only room for 3 cars. Not previously stated 7. We arrived to find a bollarded location next to 2 who had been parked with less than 3 inches between them. (Have photo). We could not park in the gap provided so was asked to park on the path to the rear causing. Then asked to hand my car keys to them if they needed to move the car. (No because would you hand the keys to you're car without seeing if that driver was insured or even had a licence). Also the next guest also tried to park in the same location at the front.
2) the room smelled of smoke that was also present in the landing area, there was a leaking radiator that made a big wet area in the central area of the room next to one of the beds, we only found out how bad the next morning.

3) when we got next morning and went to have a shower it fell apart, so we could not shower.

4) no heating in the room because the radiators had not been bled.

At breakfast next morning we did inform the owner of these faults.
1. For the carpark. Well cars are getting bigger.
2. For the leaking radiator show did action this and the shower straight away. One because the plumber had been called in for other leaks.
3. For the smell of smoke, she said that she couldn't be present every room. What she failed to mention was at no time was we informed either by written instructions or verbally that smoking was not allowed in the rooms. She did acknowledge that smoking was illegal in hotel rooms.

Southview Hotel...... We booked an economy double room. The owner was a very pleasant chatty lady who made us feel at home. The lounge was just a room with a 3 seater settee a 2 seater settee and a couple of dining room chairs. A tv on the wall which we never saw on. Also it was locked at 10.30pm so when we got back we had to go to our room. The room was a large single room squashed in a 3/4 size bed, a childs wardrobe and 2 small bedside cabinets one holding the tea tray with tea coffee sugar and whitener in a tiny plastic box tea bags were from an economy pack and not individually wrapped. The single chair in the room was in the wardrobe not in the room as it was so small. The bathroom well...a sliding door without lock directly in front was a washbasin you had to step sidewards to get to toilet and shower toileteries as advertised were 3 teeny tiny bars of soap.
Full english breakfast was ok but sausage and beans were cold on both mornings tiny egg and no mushrooms. Coffee was cheap stuff and very bitter had to add sugar to make it drinkable.
Would I stay in this hotel again we dont think so sorry.

just spent 2 nights at this hotel lovely couple but definitely needs an extreme makeover. musty damp and outdated decor. unfortunately whoever gave this hotel 3 stars must have been blind.i suppose when booking on internet you are tied because of the way they take your deposit(credit card) my partner would have gone somewhere else but would have still charged my card.

Unfortunately this was not quite what we expected. We have now had two experiences of Blackpool Bed and Breakfast accommodation and neither have been to our liking. The Reception area is extremely tight and a very narrow staircase leads to the rooms. Our room faced the main road which happened to be particularly noisy during our visit. The bathroom was small, the toilet pan raised on a platform for some reason, very claustrophobic. No doors on the wardrobe, and the decor was very flowery and pink, not our taste.
It may be a personal trait but being asked to pay the full amount whilst checking in always make me nervous. Breakfast was good. Limited parking if you travel by car.
