If you prefer to relax indoors our lounge offers elevated and panoramic views of the Irish Sea. During the world famous illuminations you can watch the special illuminated trams as they pass by the hotel without having to leave the comfort of your armchair. The location of the Balmoral is such that you are only a few minutes away from all the fun filled areas, the town centre for shopping, the tower headland with its comedy carpet and new wedding chapel, the tower with its new dungeon and walk of faith, Sea World and the world famous Madame Tussauds and of course the Pleasure Beach. Hotel and room a bit dated but spotlessly clean, great view of the prom and the Irish Sea. Breakfast was lovely and very professionally served. Hotel bar a bit pricey but I guess they’re trying to recover from the pandemic. Would definitely stay here again

The cooked breakfast ( full English - 1 sausage, 1 bacon , 1 hash brown , 1 cooked tomato and looks like a scoop of beans and some toast - cold and burnt ) was ok. Offered tea or coffee quickly once at table and buffet was small only had some fruit and some small boxes of cereal Staff was friendly very attentive at breakfast. Room was small and hot at times bed was very small for 2 adults ( one is 6ft 1inches) bathroom was small as well shower was ok only had small soap no towel rail , no shampoo or conditioner. Unsure if water from tap was drinkable so bought 2 large bottles of water. Boyfriend drunk half a cup of water from tap which could have cause him to have a really bad a stomach ache and we didn’t sleep well on the bed as it felt like I was sleeping on a block of concrete. Tv was small , no plugs by the bed and wanted to jump onto the WiFi but definitely not free as have to put in a password to connect to it which I wasn’t aware that I need it. Staff who is on reception should have asked if we need the WiFi or told us that there is a password to use the WiFi. Short time to get breakfast. We had the same table every morning but got told sometimes people table could change

Dear livvyb2020, Thank you this review. Sorry the breakfast was not to your standard but we feel we provide more then most hotels and to a very high standard. Small boxes of cereal are standard in most hotel but your were then more welcome to have more as with all items of fresh fruits, juices and yogurts. Full english is served to you which is more then ample along with fresh toast. if your toast was not to your satisfaction, you were welcome to ask for replacement. Regards, the tap water-all hotels provide main water for drinking as we do, so its more then likely you partners tummy troubles were likely to be from consuming street food rather then our water which all guest and ourselves use daily. Regards beds comfort, its different for all guests, the larger stature guests may feel discomfort but this is out of our control as we provide bed for the average size person. Larger people may find our beds and bedroom rooms small and unsuitable. Please check rooms sizes are suitable before you book our hotel. See our web site. The wifi is FREE for all our guests after checking in. The code is available from reception FREE OF CHARGE. The wifi is for residing guests only. We would have been more than happy to help had you enquired. Kind regards Martin

On arrival quickly checked in by a very efficient reception and soon settled into my room. The hotel is so close to all the Blackpool amenities that I was soon out and about. The tram stop is over the road and that makes it perfect for travelling. The evening was good relaxing in the hotel sun lounge and bar, the prices were reasonable and the lager tasted fantastic. Bar closed at 11pm which was not a problem as you could purchase drink and sit quietly watching people go by in the sun lounge as long as you wanted to. The breakfast was such good value. Started with cereal and fruit, yoghurt and muffins. This was re-inforced with a full English or any variation you wanted. I was so full after my breakfast that a small snack sufficed until evening meal. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff could not do enough to help and they were a fountain of knowledge as to how to get the best out of Blackpool. It was also reassuring that the hotel has 24 hour security on duty. This hotel is family owned and it shows because they go the extra mile for guests to enjoy staying with them. The Balmoral Hotel was a refreshing experience after visiting other hotels who are so commercialised that you become a number in a book. Well done to all the staff.
