Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Genuinely, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in when visiting Blackpool. Lovely clean, spacious room with lots of extras - the complimentary bottle of Cava was most welcome. The breakfasts are lovely and although we didn’t have an evening meal there, there’s a great menu. Really nice atmosphere, and the owners are fantastic in every way. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Blackpool.

My partner and I have stayed here many times. This last weekend for the Rebellion Festival. Peter & Wayne are excellent hosts who always provide a very warm welcome. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The breakfast choice is really good and the food is always excellent quality. Evening meals are home cooked with a good choice. We have booked again for next year and look forward to returning. Lawrence House is highly recommended. Thank you.

Stayed here once before and decided to return to Blackpool as it had been a while. Our first choice was Lawrence House as we had enjoyed ourselves here on the previous visit. We had another lovely two nights here and Peter is the ultimate host. He’s very friendly, accommodating and always makes time to chat, even when he’s rushed if his feet and busy. The room was spotless and well equipped. It does amaze me how there’s not one spec of dust anywhere to be seen through the whole establishment, even in the breakfast room/bar where there are lots of interesting nic nacs on show. Breakfast both mornings was delicious and again we could not fault a thing. A great choice of different breakfasts available too. Just so happy we came across this great Blackpool find on our previous visit. We will be staying here again when next in Blackpool and hopefully it won’t be too long away.

A warm welcome each visit. My partner and I have stayed here several times and have just booked again for later this year. A very warm welcome and great service from start to finish of your holiday. Close to Blackpool’s gay scene and amenities to which you are given a discounted voucher card. Free admission to some bars, clubs, saunas etc as well as discounted offers for shopping and restaurants. The rooms and communal spaces are spotlessly clean and the selection of food and drinks seem endless. We go as a couple but this place is great for visiting alone, with groups of friends or even with your parents ( I even know of one lad who took a grandparent). It’s gay run and caters for us beautifully but everyone is welcome, regardless of who you are. You’re given your own keys to the main entrance so it’s up to you when you decide to get back in after a night out. Stay one time and I reckon that you will become a repeat visitor. Book early to avoid disappointment but beware that some customers book for the same time each year (I’m not surprised). There’s a cheap ish long stay car park less than 50 yards away and the train station is also close by. Enjoy your trip and say hello if you see us there.

I stayed for 5 nights in August 22. After much searching, I'm so glad I found this hotel. Wayne was warm and welcoming from the off. My large single room was great. Cozy with a very comfortable bed. A hairdryer, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. There was even a mini bar. The bathroom was lovely, with a hot powerful shower. The whole place was immaculately clean. I tried all the veggie options for breakfast and they were all amazing. The hotel was less than a 10 minute walk to the Winter Gardens (almost a straight line) , but felt tucked away from the hustle and bustle, and a few minutes from the prom for a morning stroll to wake me up. I also felt very safe in the area. My friends who stayed in a different, much larger hotel are hoping to stay here this year! I look forward to staying here again and would highly recommend it to other travellers who prefer a small, more personable hotel experience.

This is my second time I have stayed at this hotel you are made to feel welcome from the minute you step inside. I had 3 evening meals during my stay food was good with a wide range of things to have. The breakfast there is a choice of cereals and hot food. The surrounding streets next to the hotel are all quiet and no one bothers you. There is also a wide range of pubs and clubs near by with Blackpool north a 5 minute walk from Lawrence house.
