As a regular visitor to Lawrence House, it genuinely feels like a home from home with very comfortable rooms and snug beds. Wayne and Peter are tremendous hosts with great attention to detail who do everything to make guests welcome. The hotel is spotlessly clean with thoughtful extras in the rooms such as filtered water, blackout blinds and a well-stocked mini bar. The food is of very high quality and cooked to perfection - whether breakfast, evening meal, Wayne's chips or Peter's buffet. My family and I can't wait to return.

I’ve just returned from another 5 night stay here and about to book my next one!
There is always a warm welcome when you arrive and everything is explained (breakfast times, discounts at various places in Blackpool and when the bar is open etc).
The rooms are extremely comfortable and it’s handy to have a safe and minibar in the room (plus the hairdryer and tea/coffee if you use them!). Whenever I get to the room I always eat the biscuits and choc mint before I unpack (I like to get my priorities right!). The bathrooms are very modern and (of course) extremely clean.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is delicious and filling. It’s good to have a choice (not just a traditional breakfast).
The evening meals are also delicious and filling and range from light bites to main meals to desserts. The dining room/bar has recently been refurbished and is a great place to start your drinking evening (the drinks are a good price).
I can highly recommend Lawrence House - it’s certainly worth the money.

What a wonderful place to stay. Just a couple of mins walk from funny girls down a safe quiet street with ample parking a few feet away (pay to park) Warm welcome from a kind, friendly host. Beautiful modern decor, lovely breakfast/bar area. Stunning outdoor prive terrace, Outstanding rooms with so many thoughtful additions including dressing gowns, mini fridge and bar, snacks, sumptuous fluffy bath sheets, heater, express water boiler and generous refreshment tray. Iron and ironing board, just goes to prove how much you are valued as a guest and how important it is to the owners that you have a wonderful stay. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Absolutely delighted with our stay. Thank you Wayne !!

My partner and I have just returned from a short weekend break at Lawrence House staying in their Aspley premier room. The place definitely lives up to its impressive Trip Advisor ratings. The whole place is spotless and the hosts Peter and Wayne have thought of everything from scissors for opening coffee sachets to breath mints for the morning after! They were also welcoming, friendly and attentive, the perfect hosts.
Peter and Wayne provide a nice choice of breakfasts although we both went for the traditional full English which was yummy and not overly greasy, couldn't have asked for more really in that department. They also provide a good selection of evening meals which we tried out, no complaints there at all, nice home cooked food which I would happily have again especially seeing as the bar/dining area is nice and chilled.
Would definitely stay at Lawrence House again next time we visit Blackpool! Jim and Jam

4th time that I have stayed at Lawrence House if your looking for somewhere to relax this is the place to go it is right in the heart of the LGBT scene which there is a wide range of bars that offer wide range of entertainment. The town centre is a 10 minute walk away which has a wide range of shops. There is a licensed bar at Lawrence House which sells a wide range of alcohol drinks and soft drinks and also they do a wide range of food served from 6.00 pm to 9.30 pm. Breakfast there is a choice of cereals juice and hot food tra or coffee. Rooms have a hospitality tray and are ensuite with your own bathroom. Looking forward to my next stay at Lawrence House.

I've spent five days trying to find something wrong with this place...and failed miserably. I could have included the weather, of course, but that's hardly fair. The phrase that came to mind was "attention to detail". Everything from the spotless cleanliness of the room to the choice and quality of the magnificent breakfasts was faultless.
The little rooftop terrace is delightful (when it's not raining), and again meticulously kept.
It's not much of a walk from the best restaurants, (about 10 minutes if you haven't got arthritic knees), and if you don't feel like venturing out at night, Wayne opens the well-stocked bar at 6.30 and serves wonderful, freshly-cooked pub meals to order; (personally, I recommend the beef and ale pie).
There's even a modest mini-bar and safe in the rooms.
Personally, I think the "gay" aspect is a bit over-emphasised on their website. Certainly, it's gay-friendly, but it's just as welcoming and delightful to all, and the casual conversations with the truly "nice" people in the bar are as vibrant and engaging as anywhere else; more so, probably.
Blackpool can't choose the weather, but we will certainly be choosing the Lawrence when we return.

As regular visitors to Lawrence House we were a little apprehensive about returning post lockdown - we needn’t have been. Apart from the guaranteed spotlessly clean room and bar / dining area, everything was very well organised to enable social distancing without affecting our enjoyment too much. Peter and Wayne couldn’t do enough, illustrated perfectly one day when there was a power outage in the local area. Quick off the mark our hosts organised for us to have a cooked breakfast at a cafe near the hotel, all paid for and with the minimum of fuss. By the way, if you’re wanting to eat in, it’s all home cooked food and reasonably priced too. The three course Sunday lunch is highly recommended. It’s always a pleasure to stay at Lawrence House so we can’t wait for our next visit and Chris is already missing the lovely hand sanitiser!

Hello Steve :-) Thank you for taking time out to write us a review, such a glowing one too! And thank you for your feed back regarding our Covid measures. It's a very scary time for us all. Really pleased you felt safe and comfortable during your stay here. Apologies for the power outage, thank goodness for the cafe nearby lol. Regarding the hand sanitiser - we'll know what to get Chris for his birthday next year :-) Thank you again for supporting us during these scary times and we'll hopefully see you again soon. Wayne and Peter x

This is my second time I have stayed at this hotel you are made to feel welcome from the minute you step inside. I had 3 evening meals during my stay food was good with a wide range of things to have. The breakfast there is a choice of cereals and hot food. The surrounding streets next to the hotel are all quiet and no one bothers you. There is also a wide range of pubs and clubs near by with Blackpool north a 5 minute walk from Lawrence house.

A warm welcome each visit. My partner and I have stayed here several times and have just booked again for later this year. A very warm welcome and great service from start to finish of your holiday. Close to Blackpool’s gay scene and amenities to which you are given a discounted voucher card. Free admission to some bars, clubs, saunas etc as well as discounted offers for shopping and restaurants. The rooms and communal spaces are spotlessly clean and the selection of food and drinks seem endless. We go as a couple but this place is great for visiting alone, with groups of friends or even with your parents ( I even know of one lad who took a grandparent). It’s gay run and caters for us beautifully but everyone is welcome, regardless of who you are. You’re given your own keys to the main entrance so it’s up to you when you decide to get back in after a night out. Stay one time and I reckon that you will become a repeat visitor. Book early to avoid disappointment but beware that some customers book for the same time each year (I’m not surprised). There’s a cheap ish long stay car park less than 50 yards away and the train station is also close by. Enjoy your trip and say hello if you see us there.

What a great place to stay! Been to Blackpool many times but first time staying here! Myself and my partner stayed Valentine’s night 2019 and also the night after when we were going to see Funny Girls and I recently realised I hadn’t yet reviewed this place. The B&B is adults only and as both myself and partner work in a school and can only get away during school holidays this was a welcome change for us. A Lovely warm welcome, spotlessly clean rooms with everything you need such as hospitality tray and more (little extras are great and appreciated). Rooms also have a mini bar where you can purchase drinks and snacks and small en-suite with shower. The downstairs has a bar/lounge and dining area where breakfast and meals are served. We decided to eat at the B&B on valentines night, food was good home cooking and delicious and we finished with our tummies full. We decided to have a drink or two sitting near the bar before heading out, it was lovely and chilled and one of the owners even helped me choose a tonic I could have as I have an intolerance to anything with sweeteners in. We had two good nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was good with a small selection of continental breakfast items followed by a delicious cooked brekkie. The owners are so warm and welcoming as well as being lovely to chat too and nothing was too much trouble. It was lovely chatting with Peter and Wayne (the owners) on checkout day. I would definitely recommend and hope to return.
