I run a dance school for children. We always stay at the GH. Staff are always friendly, helpful & accommodating! We often request early breakfast (when dancing early mornings!) As a group we also value the location, as it's walking distance to the Tower, Winter Gardens, shopping etc. My dad is a wheelchair user and the GH is one of the only hotels in Albert Rd to offer quality disabled-friendly access and rooms.
We were here as a dance school last weekend, and I have also just returned from a 2nd weekend stay with my own family (2 consecutive weeks!) The entertainment was great and my family (2 children, my partner and I) felt comfortable and welcomed at all times.
As mentioned all staff are fab, but I'd like to give special thanks to Julie and Pav, who always go above and beyond for us all.
Thanks guys, see you again soon x

Dear Guest, thank you for your amazing review of the Georgian Hollies. it was great to host your dance school yet once more and as you rightfully say the Georgian Hollies is in a first class position for access to the Winter Gardens. We are pleased that you enjoyed the early breakfast, entertainment, the friendly staff and your Dad was well catered for in one of our disabled accessible rooms. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a welcoming smile by Dave on reception.
All our special requests were met. (A
ground floor room, and table for 2)
Our room was spacious, with a double bed, and a single bed, There was a wet room type shower in the spacious bathroom, (No bath) handrails next to the toilet and washbasin.
There is a lift down to the basement dining room. And up to upper floor rooms.
The well stocked bar is on the ground floor. There is entertainment in the bar at night.
We went for my 70th birthday. Pav the barman and Dave the manager on reception and Angel our waitress really made our stay a happy memory for us. We also enjoyed sitting quietly watching TV in the games room. We will definitely return, the hotel is close to town, Tower and the Winter gardens.
My only concern was the steps outside. Due to my falling eyesight. Although there is disabled access via a slope.

Just stayed here again for our 2nd time in 5 months as we absolutely love it. We were with Caledonian from mon 21st mar - fri 25th mar. This hotel the staff are just brilliant Angel in the restaurant will do anything for you to make sure everyone is well catered for and the food is lovely then Pav on the bar will help anyone even carries drinks to people's tables that have walking difficulties etc and there is never an empty glass to be seen on a table they are always quick to clean up and tidy up once people are finished. Then the reception team are great even give us the same room as last time which was much appreciated. The entertainment is the best they play about 4 games of Bingo which we did win a few games then they have various singers on along with other fun games like piggy racing, musical bingo and others we met some great people one of them being Daisy and her family and she got dressed up as Mrs Brown she was so funny and really made our holiday in fact the people there were just like one big family by the end of the week we had such a great time. We will definitely be back as we love Blackpool and we love Georgian Hollies as it's also centrally located for everything and every time we go summer comes we stayed in October and it really was like summer then again this week it's been like summer again which they do have an outdoor seating area to sit out which is nice. Can't wait to go back again we won't stay anywhere else now it will always be Gergian Hollies for us.

We booked this hotel as it claims to be the sister hotel to the Craig Y Don which is a superb hotel compared to this. We only booked this hotel as the sister was full & as it was a star more we thought it be better. Wrong!!! Not all rooms are modern which is very misleading. Our room was totally antiquated & several cracks, marks & scrapes all over the walls including the bathroom. The room was dark & small. The beds was very uncomfortable & springy. For being a 3 star compared to its sister you expect a minimum standard. The room was far from the cleanest & had dust/ comb webs hanging down from the ceiling. None of the coat hangers matched & cups for tea making facilities was cracked. The shower could not be taking down for easy washing & therefore I couldn’t wash my son who has sensory issues. The toilet flushed when it wanted too I reported this to different staff members but it was never fixed. The wifi never worked, the tv was ridiculously small for a family room. No hair dryer in rooms (it’s available for free within the sister hotel which is 2* & this hotel claims to be a 3*) The food wasn’t the nicest & portions were so small & I’m not a big eater. I reported a few things to staff & was always met by a different staff member who either huffed, puffed or shrugged or ignored my complaints. Even the hotel from the outside there is cracks on the windows. I’m really disappointed with our stay. I believe the good reviews on trip advisor are from people staying in modern rooms because it certainly isn’t a good review regarding the room we were given. My son is two years old & autistic and becomes very upset & distressed. A guest commented that she was going to smash his face in which has left myself and family very shaken. I’m now left in a position of making a complaint to my travel company for false advertisement. I gave the hotel reasonable opportunity to put this right during my stay like their notice states in reception and this didn’t happen.

Dear Guest, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay, we would just like to clarify we are not a 3 star hotel, we are a budget hotel and this is reflected in our pricing strategy. Approximately a third of the hotel rooms have now been modernised and they are sold as premier rooms with a supplement. The Wi Fi is a brand new system, which normally works effectively, we do apologise if experience difficulties with it. We have checked the log book and can't see any of the issues you raised recorded, I will raise your review with the general manager.

Have just returned from a 4 night stay here. Firstly the positives. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. Now on the downside the shower was full of black mould and the room was very small. The only reason I did not complain was the bed was clean. But we put cleaning sign on the door and the only thing that was done in room was bed made up. I had to go to reception on 2 days to get fresh towels and also request toilet rolls which I found unexceptionable. At night the music was so loud in the rooms could not sleep and residents going back to there rooms with little regard to anyone who wasn’t partying you should not need to go reception desk to ask for toilet rolls or clean towels housekeeping should be using there initiative to know this has to be done

Dear Guest, we are pleased to hear you found the staff helpful and friendly and the food excellent. The comfort of our guests is paramount and had you brought your issues to the attention of reception we could have changed your room. We have passed your complaint onto the housekeeping department and mentioned to the entertainment staff that the music must be turned off by midnight, which they normally do adhere to.

Good value for money. We visited on the St Patricks theme weekend, bed breakfast, evening meal and inclusive bar between 8 & 10. Nice food ample size room all clean and tidy. Staff provided clean towels each day and offered to clean the room.

We found all the staff really helpful and bubbly providing excellent customer service.

There was however one week link, Mr muscles kiss me guns barman. He had zero customer service or people skills. Each time we went to the bar there was absolutely no interaction or eye contact. He just snatched our used glasses off the bar and slammed the fresh drinks down on the bar. On one occasion he shrugged his shoulders and said “no ice” instead going and getting some he left it to his colleague to fill the ice bucket later.

He dropped some torn bingo tickets off one of the tables and just left them there saying “it’s ok”. His colleague got down and picked them all up later

The hotel is within 10 minute walk from the train station and located close to shops bars and restaurants.

Stayed here from 4th-8th Oct with Caledonian and it was a great week. We were in room 36 and it was a lovely room on the second floor with everything you could need. We had dinner bed and breakfast and the food was lovely. They had bingo and entertainment on each evening. The staff are all friendly but we loved Jay off the bar he used to get sent to help serve dinner and we had such a laugh with him he certainly kept us entertained and would do anything for you and he did a great job serving dinner to us. We even got talking to the handy man and he would do anything for you and would ask if everything was ok in your room etc. he even fixed my mams bag one morning as we were leaving after breakfast everyone was lovely from reception to bar staff etc. It was very busy whilst we were there especially on Friday with everyone coming and going but we were able to leave our luggage whilst we went out for the day we even had nice weather and it was like summer whilst sat outside. It is in the best location central for everything and only 5 mins walk to the tower we have stayed at many places in Blackpool but we will definitely return to Georgian Hollies we had a great week thank you.

Having just returned from the Georgian hollies I have to say that it was faultless all the staff was outstanding, on arrival we was checked in within minuets by a very polite member of the reception sorry I didn’t get his name, our room was a little on the small size but was very clean and comfortable, the evening meals was well presented and plentiful, nothing was too much trouble for the serving staff and our waitress angel was always smiling, most evening apart from a visit to funny girls was spent in the hotel bar that was well managed by pablo who never stoped working. The entertainment was hosted by 3 different Dj’s Mick, Sara, and especially Lee who kept us entertained all night the pig racing has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time, my only gripe was on the first night bingo took way to long to play, I know people love bingo but if we wanted to play bingo For the first half of the evening we could have gone to Mecca, I can’t fault any of the professional singers once again I can’t remember the names apart from paddy where’s McGuinnes who was on st Patrick’s day and Almost Elton who was the tribute act on Saturday night. We originally booked a Monday to Friday stay but enjoyed it so much we extended our stay to include the weekend, we will be back in the not so distant future

Stayed here in May Mon-Fri with my mum with Caledonian Travel in room 35 which was a good size with drawers/hanging rails (no wardrobe) for clothes storage which was enough for a few days stay. Room was clean and beds very comfy. Bathroom small needs updating and towels are provided. Shower gets slippy when using so a rubber mat would be useful to have. Food was lovely and had a great selection every meal was piping hot and delicious well done to the Chef. Staff in Hotel are friendly and Kim in the restaurant was our server and she is lovely and makes you feel at home. Bar prices are excellent and bar manager Pav is entertaining with good shows on every night. Wifi was down a lot so had to use cash at bar a few nights. Location is excellent only 10 mins from main shopping area/Promenade/Tower. Would I stay again my answer is YES!!!

First of all this is not a slight on the staff who were great , however I felt the need to review which i normaly dont do. The room , was clean and visited every day by cleaners, but so small you could lie in bed , open the loo door and have a pee without leaving the bed. We never expected much for what we paid so that was ok. But the meals, 1st night i had cottage pie which looked like a dog had been sick on a plate , wife fancied cheese cake so i ordered ice cream so she wasnt eating alone, this on 2nd on Nov we had xmas hats and crackers on table with a photographer interupting out meal, wanting a smile shot, Well wife got cheese cake and i got xmas pudding , no ice cream. Hey we all make mistakes, let it go. Next night although we filled out our evening meal on slip at breakfast menu, we both loved the idea of Banofee pie, well we 1st got soup with a skin on it, too long under a lamp i suspect and salmon encroute with cheese glue on top , again to long under alamp, in the end , we never got our banofee as there wasnt enough although we filled out the slip at breakfast, maybe a blessing
