Stayed Monday to Friday, had previously stayed when was the Hilton. Decor and furnishings all of Hilton, so, nice to have.
Rooms are of a good standard (Hilton furnishings etc), a little on small size for two people.
Many reviews comment on dirty windows, have to agree. Unfortunately, room we had (402), window would not open, and was screwed closed, and no handle, fresh air would of being nice to have.
Breakfast was good, with pleasant service, paid for evening meal on two occasions, this too was good, with pleasant service.
Bar area quite nice, although furnishings need to be upgraded (my opinion).
Disappointed however, no housekeeping service from arrival to checkout, (although to be fair, this was stated on check in), yes, could replenish tea/coffee, towels etc by asking at reception, (which I saw guests doing), but I did not understand why no daily housekeeping, as this would of being better, to come back to a refreshed room.
Front entrance outside, could do with a good pressure wash and tidy up, just to make a little more pleasant to walk into.
Some of the decor as you wounder around could do with a little freshening up, but on the whole, for the price you pay to stay at the Grand, I could not complain in whole.
Great location, for trams, (only two stops to North pier), pleasant walk into main part of Blackpool, walked most days along the promenade).
Have booked again for December 2021, this time booked a suit, so, will see what (if any) this accommodation fers/differs from standard rooms.

Had to to queue for 40 minutes to check in on the Monday, queue was twice as long on the Tuesday, had two rooms one was excellent the other good, staff very helpful, food on New Year’s Eve was terrible, meat was tough, Yorkshire puddings were raw, guests came from the bar and had free entertainment that we had paid for. Was advertising on the Sunday the entertainment but was fully booked when we booked with reception, the manager was very good he got us in the entertainment/food and dropped the price for us, as we complained re food, people were getting emails to say the food was fully booked on the morning of arrival - shocking... all said and done we had a fabulous time,

Big hotel first impressions were okay. Check in was fine I understand there may be a delay but it wasn't more than 15 minutes. Whilst waiting a guy was complaining about opening his door to find mice running around the people all waiting looked horrified let's just give it a go I'm thinking. I checked in told it was £7 on top of 179 for parking abit steep most hotels don't charge. Let's go to the lift upto 5th floor find the room it was basic which is fine but for the price would of expected a little more like milk and teabags coffee not in plastic bag. Lets have a look at the view not bad apart from no catch and spoon jammed in to keep abit of air in the room. Bathroom no shampoo no body wash wait sorry there was shampoo sorry all over the tiles of the shower and curtain (which I cleaned)and more hair in the bath floor and tiles than on my head. The bed was big I mean so big me and the other half was txtd eachother not a problem could of done with more pillows. There was stain on the bedside table. I work in housekeeping as a supervisor at novotel so maybe I'm being picky but note to housekeeping no room should be handed over in that condition my head housekeeping manger would fire my ass if I did. Well in all we were there 1 night and the amount of people complaining is big down to dirty cups dirty glasses the dirty bins which we had lack of towels lack of anything. Grand you need to up your game review your housekeeping department and the rude staff who couldn't careless that people are complaining me myself I would of love to stick around and guide your housekeeping team how to run there department but after 6 years doing your job I've had maybe a handful of complaints. Sorry grand you was overpriced for what it was. Time for a upgrade it's the old hilton building and for a hotel in the britainia group sorry it was a let down for the brand. Breakfast was okay water was cold for my tea and apart from the lady who greeted us the rest of the fnb team looked like they had sold there souls to the devil yes fnb is a hard job long hours kids but with most hotel role we smile and act professional at all times it's our job we look welcoming and happy it rubs off on our guests. Would I recommend no would I stay again no would I invited you to come see how we do it at novotel dam right. We all have bad days but not months.

Stayed here for two nights for my partner’s birthday. It’s along the strip and has a large car park which you can pay when you stay. The outside of the building is in need of substantial work and really lets the hotel down. When we drove into he car park I was a bit apprehensive as to what we had let ourselves in for but couldn’t have been more wrong. The hotel itself inside was lovely! We asked if we could upgrade and as it was my partners birthday and they gave us a ‘king’ room for free, we’re very polite and helpful. The room itself was large and clean and the bed was lovely and comfy. We had a beautiful sea view from our window and were both very pleased. The only gripes I have would be that the kettle and cups were hidden away in a cupboard and we didn’t find them until it was time to leave! I think they should have just been left on the side. The remote needed some new batteries and there wasn’t any shower gel just a tiny bar of soap but I had bought my own so it wasn’t a problem but would have been nice to have had some in the shower. The lifts were a bit dodgy and the room doors were a bit heavy to close so you could hear a lot of people closing doors in the mornings, but apart from that, for the money and location this is a wonderful hotel and would highly recommend! 😀👌

we stayed here for 3 nights we queued for an hour to check in. when we got to the room there were no towels and not enough beds. one bed was made up then a single sofa bed for 2 children i told reception and we were then provided with towels and a fold out bed and was told the bedding was in the wardrobe. there were 2 crumpled duvets and nothing else. I told reception twice and were told they'd bring some sheets up they never came by this time it was 23.00 so my son ended up sleeping on a towel instead of a bed sheet. the bath also had a black ring around it. the only good thing about this room was the seaview which was lovely. I walked past other rooms further down the corridor that looked alot better than ours. at 420 pound for 3 nights I would atleast expect all beds to be made up before arrival and amount of beds and towels etc to be checked.

Following our non refundable room reservations, we read the reviews of the Grand Hotel Blackpool on Trip Advisor approximately one week prior to our trip, which were at best, bad and at worst, absolutely terrible. This lead to concerns from all parties travelling to say the least (two couples)! The reviews we read, one as recent as mid February 2020, offer much negativity in relation to the cleanliness of the hotel, the unfriendliness of the staff and the overall ambiance. However, upon arrival, with scepticism - especially seeing the hotel from the outside for the first time, check-in was smooth, easy and quick. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean, spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel was busy with functions but this by no means impacted our stay. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Me and husband was stayed in this hotel during Christmas time. It was bad Experience.
1. Room walls are not sound prof. we can't sleep over the night then we called to receptionist mid night, our neighbour was very loud. NO action taken by hotel.
2. Mattress was uncomfortable. Start back pain problem.
3. Bathroom bin already full with rubbish.
4. No room Services "as they mention if we need room services we can hang room Services sign out side our door before 11.00 am " which we did no one cleaned our room. we stays in hotel 5 days. Even we called them they said no one available.
5. Car parking door- That door always shut if you want to access to hotel first you have to park your car in parking then walk about 7 min to enter hotel. There is no light in parking. There is bell on car parking door when you press no one answer.
6.Breakfast- Staff is very rude, i booked our room include breakfast. Time for breakfast 08.30am to 10.30am. We reached around 10.00am for breakfast they said they already closed. One of lady she said EAT WHAT EVER LEFT. what that mean.

In nutshell, we never ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check-in was abysmally slow and although there were 4 stations available, only two were being used until we complained. Lift operated in the direction it wanted, and had no relevance to the floor number we pressed. The room was outdated and although the sink and toilet had been replaced, the bath was worn and scratched. The bedside light wasn’t working and there was no remote for the television. The duvet cover was dirty. Breakfast was appalling, particularly as there were no tongs for the toast, which is a health hazard, especially in the current climate. We have travelled around the world but what we have never seen is the fact that if you want your bed made or the room freshened up, you have to advise the staff before 11.00 am!!! We have often paid a lot less for bed and breakfast and had value for money, whereas this was certainly not good value. To add insult to injury we had to pay £7.00 to park our car. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

No social distancing put into practice due to the check in being at 4pm and the lobby being very busy despite my party arriving at 2 and not alowing us to check in.

20 mins to check in. Arrive at the room half eaten biscuit in one draw and makeup wipes in another and layers of dust even the cleaner agreed it’s disgusting and who ever cleaned it previously. Called reception no apology just house keeping are coming up. They came up gave it a clean and she apologised, told us to grab a drink in the bar while it gets cleaned. The bar didn’t open till 5 so we were then stood waiting for the room to be cleaned. Manager was too busy to talk we were told.

Around an hour later went to go in shower and there is 3 condom wrappers and dirty make up wipes in the bin. Disgusting!!! Also with Covid going on this is unacceptable!! I then called reception to a very rude woman who wouldn’t pass us to a manager as she said they had all gone home despite them saying one would come and see us an hour ago!! House keeping came up again to clean the room for the second time in 2 hours, and also no towels for us!!

What a disgrace, I came for a birthday break and this is what we ended up with!! I will also be reporting all this to local council as you can imagine condom wrappers and make up wipes are not the most hygienic!!!

Whilst checking in another couple approached reception to say someone else clothes were drying on the radiator!!

After then finally getting to talk to a manager the next morning, they refused to apologise and gave us 10% refund and the £7 parking back. And then received a rude email from the manager saying my party expected the refund.

Stay away.

Stayed at the Hilton as it was many times and LOVED it, so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor and excellent staff.
Stopped here for a weekend, wish I hadn't , ruined many good memories of the Hilton. Everything has been cheapened, I suppose to get the money the back they paid for it. Not very clean, food not up to standard. The famous Hilton all-you-can-eat excellent breakfast now but a distant memory. I get the impression the staff don't like working there, when it was a Hilton they always had a sense of pride of working in the best hotel in Blackpool. You now have to pay for the privelledge of parking there now, it was free to guests before, it just adds to the bill, really annoyed me. The room was clean but not up to Hiltions standards, you can see the difference, and if you are reading this Britannia management, clean the windows they are filthy, you can see the dirt from the outside.
I can't think of another quality hotel in Blackpool I would like to stay in, might as well find a cheapo place now and use the spare money to enjoy myself. SHALL NOT be stopping here again.

They do not advertise that they provide entertainment & indeed during our stay there was no entertainment. There is a small dance floor area in the main lounge bar equipped with a sound system so perhaps sometimes this is used? The Britania web site normally denotes entertainment on the facilities page if any is provided, it doesn't.

It depends. We checked in about 3pm as the room was not ready earlier. They will let you check in earlier & register your vehicle for parking but you will have to wait for the key until they are ready.

One room in our party had a fridge, the other didn't - just a hole where it should have been. No idea about iron. PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE. THIS HOTEL IS BEYOND TERRIBLE.
