Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For the price I was not expecting a Hilton and I certainly didn't get a Hilton. There is a horrible smell as you walk into the building but luckily the room didn't smell the same. The bed was comfortable enough but the bedding had a musky smell to it. The staff were not the friendliest but it served its purpose of somewhere to sleep while in Blackpool.

A friend booked the Jesmond for a stag doo, upon walking in there is a terrible smell, not sure what it is.

The rooms are small with a double bed and a sink with only cold water as the hot tap had been removed for some odd reason.

There was a kettle with the usual bits and bobs in the room.

I went to use the shower in the morning but it wouldn’t get hot, only cold.

The people who run it are lovely mind but the place isn’t for me.

Stayed here last night for the illumination switch on , easy check in , we asked for rooms close together which they did (thank you ) .
Rooms are basic …comfy clean bed , sink , kettle , coffee/tea facilities , wardrobe , shared toilet at the end of the corridor , what more do you need …location is great , less than 5 mins to the tower etc. I was a little wary after reading the reviews , but we found no problems , the people seemed lovely , there was a bar in the basement which looked fun , but we had plans and didn’t go , we basically only slept there ….

Would definitely stay again 😊

The wallpaper was hanging of the duvets etc was all marked ripped and stained this is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in the management services where disgusting just fobbed you off excuse after excuse would not pass the owners details on so we could demand our money back this hotel should never be open to the public .. the shower pole was broken 2 towels between 3 people and I baby but only used them to mop up bathroom floor as they stunk rotten... The bedroom door didn't shut properly they said we had to forward a complaint to him and he would pass it on off course he would ..(not).. this is a dive and poorly run I wouldn't even rated this 1 star but had to put something on to have this review posted

This hotel if you could call it that was booked on agoda, when I attempted to email to complain it turns out they don't accept incoming mail. The hotel was rated 3 stars, should be zero, the place should be condemned. Dirty beyond belief, fights during the night. Dampness throughout, wallpaper hanging off walls, like something out a horror film. Avoid avoid avoid !!!!!!

This establishment is absolutely outstanding, granted it’s a little bit tired but there’s still plenty of life in the old dog yet.

The hosts are top notch, big shout out to Martin who saved the day at 1am when our kettle unfortunately caught alight in a chewing gum in kettle accident, not all heroes wear capes.

The bar downstairs is that of legend, reminiscent of one of the better gulags of the former Soviet Union, complete with pool table, a fine selection of ales and of course service with a smile (albeit with not many teeth)

The rooms have beds in them which is fantastic, although a few of the footy lads have mentioned they did end up with a springy mattress and the odd pine here and there but for £15 pp what more can you want?

Lastly, the club is perfectly situated in ideal walking distance of McDonald’s and the local gentleman’s club, you’re able to get a burger in your face in both.

Lots of love

We stayed for 1 night 16/09/2022 and we were greeted by the host at the door who was friendly and very welcoming. Shown our room which was a good size for what we needed. Located behind coral island so great location to get to the promenade. Upon leaving the host wished us a safe journey home and hoped we would return. Overall, great friendly hosts, great price, great location and great sized room. Would recommend this hotel. Will definitely stay again. Thank you so much.

Me and my mum stayed here last night, we just wanted somwhere to sleep as we wanted to go the bars and arcades. We arrived and the fella welcomed us in and carried our bag. We were shown to our room which was small but perfect for what we needed. Was clean and smelt fresh. We dropped our stuff off and went down toy he bar in the basement. Again very welcoming, lovely little bar you can tell alot of effort has gone into making it fresh and I could tell the husband and wife who run the hotel have big plans to improve even further. After a night out on the front we returned to the bar and had a few very well priced drinks and it was laid back and welcomes families. I was happy to hear they have family rooms which sleep up to 8 so we will be coming back with the kids. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay. Only annoying thing was the arguing I could hear throughout the night from outside but this can't be helped by the hotel.

I booked to stay in this hotel as I was planning on visiting family. Due to a family emergency I was unable to stay on my first night of booking however I contact the hotel and said I would still stay the second night as I had paid for it. I did not get a reply and then I seen on my booking app that it had been cancelled. Prior to this the owner was quick at calling me to state that I was going to have to stay in a twin room rather than a double room as there was a mistake and I was fine with this. I had already paid for the room and the owner cancelled my booking without telling me. He then refused to answer any of my questions and just replied saying I must re-book. I was treated very unfairly from the owner. I would advise anyone who considers staying here to think again and book elsewhere. He basically stole my money and wanted me to pay double for a basic room. Horrible experience.

All the bad reviews are true, only cold water, towels (had to stole them from different room as our did not have any) and bedding smells like it was washed in water only. Heating works in a few rooms, main doors does not lock properly so don't be surprised that people leave them open. No owner, one guy from different hotel showed us the room, told us that guy who owns this place just left it on its own. So one night (we stayed for two) random people were in corridor and smoke weed. No communal room with pool or bar. Only 2 showers for all guests (15 rooms)
