Following the easing of lockdown we booked 3 nights in a deluxe sea view room which was on the 3rd floor and very much as expected and described. Firstly it's important to say that this hotel operates excellently within the covid secure guidelines but you never feel like it's "not normal" and you know you're enjoying a quality hotel service in a relaxed manner. After a grab and go breakfast on the first morning the hotel reverted to a full restaurant service for breakfast on our last 2 mornings and it was excellent. The bar area is similarly a great 'normal service' although it can be pricey compared to other hostelries in the area. Our room, as we knew before visiting, is somewhat dated and it's a surprise, for the quality of hotel, that there's no fridge in the room. The sash window is draughty and rattles in the wind. The large double bed is super comfy-one of best hotel beds we've slept in! Due to covid there is no room service so it's DIY, making your own beds and managing your own rubbish bins, etc. The staff are all amazing and a credit in these difficult times. The only issue I had was that my pre-approved room card could not be accepted by the bar till on our last day so I reverted to paying cash. It turned out that this was an IT problem. However as the barman had tried several times to present my room card at the till we discovered, on check out, that £40 of drinks, which we had not had, were charged to my account. I pointed this out and it could be confirmed that there were no signed receipts for the day to match these charges. This should have been checked before the bill was presented to me!! So check your bill. Overall a great time though and we left impressed with the relaxed atmosphere created at the hotel despite the difficult times we're all still experiencing. Well done all concerned.

I'm so thrilled that you felt so comfortable staying with us and thank you for your thumbs up for our COVID procedures, we're learning every day just like the rest of the world! One word... Exceptional!!! From booking in uncertain times to arriving we need not have worried one bit. Fantastic communication addressing any concerns and requests we had, the staff here are phenomenal and our absolute highest praise is reserved for Alison, such an amazingly kind considerate and respectful lady you are truly deserving of your general manager title and you are like superwoman the amount you do. From arrival the check in was super quick and extremely friendly with the highest level of cleanliness and safety precautions being followed everywhere which under the circumstances made you feel very safe indeed. Arrived at our room (109 which was a premier family room) we had a beautiful welcome card and complimentary gift, alongside our wine which I pre booked as a special treat all professionally arranged by a lovely lady who showed us in. Beautiful room with side sea view and lovely seating area, the beds were so comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. All the usual amenities together with extras such as dressing gown and slippers made this even more special a real pamper treat. Very warm and cosy such a wonderful atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble at all. We ate in the lounge bar and again received superb service by the fab bar manager and food was delicious all freshly made and very reasonably priced too. After venturing out to what can only be described as a very sad solemn and quiet town it was heartbreaking to see such an amazing place suffering so badly but we made the most of what we could. We returned to a wonderfully warm welcome and retreated to bed where 2 out of 3 slept soundly (1 loud snorer kept someone awake 🙄) and woke up feeling very refreshed. Even though the hotel was not busy the rooms are super quiet and no outside noise either. Amazing shower and ample space for 3 ladies to get ready in without argument leads to a very happy outcome for all. Breakfast was served in the grandest of dining rooms and was a delicious full cooked with tea, coffee, juice, toast etc ready to set you up for the day, alongside the cereals, baked items, fruits and yoghurts there was plenty for all. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and it is most definitely worth it and cannot wait to return hopefully In better times real soon and we will be recommending to everyone we know. We wish you all the very best Imperial team you are amazing and thank you for our memories made.

Stayed for one night whilst attending a show at Blackpool grand theatre. Never stayed here before, but seemed a good price for the facilities on offer and the location was spot on for our visit.

We had booked a deluxe sea view double room which was beautifully presented and very clean. The hamper with bottled water / fresh fruit / muffins etc was a nice touch, as were the bath robes and slippers. The bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in for a long time!

We used the spa facilities, which were great. The changing areas were clean, as were the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Might get busy if the hotel is at full capacity, but being the beginning of Feb it was nice and quiet.

We had drinks in the bar prior to going out for the evening, which was very nicely decorated, with a good choice of drinks, (and bar meals). We had already made plans to dine out so can't comment on the food that night.

TIP!!! Join the VIP club before you stay, it is free and you get 20% off your food and drinks when you charge them to your room, as well as getting money off vouchers for subsequent stays.

All the staff from reception, to waiters, to bar staff were all very polite and professional, and I cannot fault any part of my stay.

Credit where credit is due, a great hotel

The breakfast was buffet style and everything was cooked to perfection, a great end to our night away.

Stayed here couple of times find it handy for location and private parking, however on this occasion got a very unfriendly welcome from reception. I paid the extra £20 to check in early and got to the room, first thing I had to do was get rid of a spider and a dozen cobwebs!! I’m guessing that’s what I paid an extra £20 for some amateur cleaner that just dusts around things! Disgusting really in a Covid world ...
But then, after a long drive unfortunately I fell asleep as I lay on the bed, a knock on the door woke me up and before I could get my jeans back on a member of staff just let themselves into the room which I thought was a breach of health and safety, and if the management don’t send me some sort of apology or compensation I’ll take it further.
Won’t stay hear again ...

Dirty. This hotel has been closed for 101 days and we strongly believe that no cleaning was carried out at all during that time. The staff were very good and I felt sorry for them in the way. We were given our room key and we went to our room. When we arrived there was the shower curtain laying over the toilet because it had fell down. Also our sea view was obscured by a dead bird on the balcony that had obviously been there for a long time probably from the start of the lockdown. We went back to reception to mention the shower curtain and the man behind reception said that they could not put it back up because they are not allowed in the rooms once guests have checked in. We therefore asked to move to a different room. When we arrived at our new room it was discovered that the toilet was continuously running water. This would hinder our sleep so we went back to reception and asked for another room. So we were given another room and when we got to the third room the wind was blowing so strong that the window was making a whistling noise. As Blackpool can get very windy we had this whistling noise all night we did not think it was worth complaining again as what is the point of moving to another room because there will obviously be something wrong with that one. As this hotel had been closedown for over three months I find it unacceptable that each of the rooms we went to had filthy dirty windowsills. I would’ve thought as this is the first night that this hotel was open that they would have at least gone round and made an effort to check the rooms and clean them especially in the current climate. I know this is a budget hotel but it does not meet the basic standards that you would expect from a chain of this size. During this lockdown a lot a bit of businesses and Blackpool have taken the time to redecorate or tidy up their properties however this did not happen at the Britannia hotel in Blackpool.

Very impressed with our one night stay in the Imperial. So much character and history, if only the walls could talk. Many of these old hotels have sadly become very run down but this one has managed to maintain its looks and standards of service, and is very good value for money. Yes, our room, at standard level could possibly do with a little refurbishment, nevertheless it was more than adequate, spacious, comfortable bed, good sized TV and plentiful tea and coffee. Good size bathroom with a bath (oh joy!), and plenty of nice thick towels. Spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel.

They are managing the covid situation very well, one way systems in place, hand sanitiser all over the place and constant cleaning of door handles and other touch points. All the staff wear masks and are friendly, approachable polite and helpful. Drinks from the bar are of course table service only, wherever in the hotel you want to sit. How nice to be able to relax and avoid the usual bar crush!!

Breakfast which is buffet style has to be booked in advance, hot food is served to you, table service for hot drinks and toast. Plentiful and good food, all the cold items, i.e. croissants, muffins etc are in sealed bags. We felt it was managed very well and we felt very safe. We had afternoon tea but could not include that in this review due to lack of characters. Will form another review.

If we are ever back in Blackpool, this is where we will choose to stay.

It's been a couple of years since we visited Blackpool and The Imperial Hotel. We always book a deluxe sea view room and have stayed in different rooms over the years. The the rooms that have not been upgraded have a much more traditional colour scheme that can seem a bit dark however, we our room this time was in the new colour scheme of soft greys with crisp white bedlinen altogether much nicer. We had large bathroom with bath and overhead shower with oodles of hot water and good water pressure. Lovely large towels and bathrobes and slippers provided. Measures to reduce risk of Covid were good, masks on when moving around the public areas, hand sanitiser stations in various places, in the room tea, coffe etc packed in cellophane as was the TV remote.Room serviced each day if requested. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice the cold buffet had all items fruit, croissants, muffins etc individuallu wrapped, the hot counter had chefs serving residents rather than self serve.
This hotel ihas definitley upped its game over recent years we had no complaints. Its ideally located to either walk in to town or there is a tram stop directly outside the front of the hotel.

The staff and management have worked hard to put COVID 19 regulations into place, hand gel easily accessible, social distancing in operation - even only 1 family at a time in lift. The room was beautiful we had booked a suite and what luxury this was - the breakfast was well organised everyone following a one way system, the hot buffet was served by the chef- the evening meal was excellent we paid the extra and had steaks well worth the extra cost. Staff will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible

Stayed here for Valentines Weekend with my partner as a little break away. Even though it was out of season, the hotel was lovely and easy to find. Plenty of parking and reception staff were lovely on arrival.

We paid extra to park the car for the weekend so didnt have to worry about parking in town.

We checked in well before the stated time as the room was ready, upon entering we could tell it was a little dated but it was clean and comfortable and given the age of the hotel it was expected.

The only downside to the room was it was too warm and we failed to try and turn the radiator down so made it a little uncomfy during the night.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, a vast selection to have from cooked to continential.

We didnt eat in the restaurant but did have food in the bar, again it was tasty, but I ordered pizza which could have done with being cooked a little longer to crisp it up and make it a bit hotter.

One gent serving on the bar came across he was too busy to serve (even though there was only us stood at the bar) and had a little bit of an attitude. My partner ordered the drinks, a pint and a cocktail, one waitress came on and had to ask what went into said cocktail but didnt mix it how it should have been so was poured straight in to the glass with two ice cubes.

For the location and ease of getting in to Blackpool this is ideal and it's perfect to get away from all the noisy areas if you were to stay in season. Will definitely book this again should we decide to visit Blackpool in the future.

We stayed here as part of a Groupon deal. Despite the COVID restrictions at the time of our visit (11-13 October 2020) some of the hotel facilities were not available. However the staff were very welcoming. Our room was at the rear of the hotel but the staff were happy to offer us a room with a sea view if we wished to do so. We decided to stay in our allocated. This was a large room with a large bathroom which had a bath. On the Monday evening of our stay we dined n the restaurant we had a three course dinner which was excellent fine dining, in particular my desert, a chocolate brownie with cherry’s and a Kirsch sauce was first class. Breakfast was also organised extremely efficiently. With tables set apart and the cutlery delivered to the tables in a plastic “seaside” bucket. Ensuring it was clean and fresh for each guest. With all the COVID restrictions we were very impressed with the way the hotel managed the public areas ensuring that the tables and chairs in were kept cleaned and sanitised. We would be happy to book another stay here again.
