On arrival we were assited by a friendly member of staff to help us park. The staff could not do enough to help us. Great entertainment on in the evening. The rooms were clean and tidy. No air con (and it was hot) but fans available to use. Great location to go sightseeing too.

Just back from a great weekend at the Viking. The food was excellent, the entertainment great and the staff were as usual brilliant. The organisation around the COVID restriction was excellent and left all our party feeling our safety was paramount. Could not fault anything thank you to all the staff.

Just returned today from a 2-night, weekend break at the Viking Hotel. My partner and a our friends booked to stay here as our usual Hotel in Blackpool was closed. Our friends have stayed at the viking at least once a year for many years, so it seemed a safe bet. Firstly, check in was very straight forward and easy. Managed to find on-site parking (which is free) and we were checked in within 5 minutes. Covid-19 rules in place to include Hotel guests ONLY at the hotel/bar/entertainment and lots of hand sanitizer stations around the hotel. We were allocated room 404 and this is where things became a little disappointing.. we couldn't find the room and there was VERY little signage to help. We went from one end of the hotel, up some stairs, across to the other end, up more stairs and then up even more stairs until we found the room - NOT great for someone who doesn't like lifts and especially the lift at this hotel, it holds 2 people MAX. Room was OK, a good size, looked about early 90s decor, carpet repaired by using a cut off section from a similar carpet, wallpaper coming away from walls, TV extremely small, however, the worse part of all was the unbearable heat. The room was absolutely boiling hot (even with both small windows open), we literally couldn't bear it. We did hire a fan from reception but even so, the heat was unbearable as was the constant smell of food rising from the kitchens below. Evening meal both nights was delicious. First night was Lamb shank with veg and the second night shoulder of Pork with veg. Both extremely tasty and lovely starter options too. Did not like desserts on both nights. Breakfast both mornings was very nice - full English and/or fruit, yogurts and cereals. We did have drinks in the bar beside reception and we found the staff extremely rude. We were told we could not turn one chair around to our table (group of 4) and we had to put it back, yet 5 minutes later, a group of 9 ladies sat next to us (no rule of 6?) And moved all the furniture and absolutely nothing was said. Also, we did complain about the attitude of the lady working behind the bar as she was extremely rude. No bar menu for drinks yet when you ask the staff what gins they have, they don't know, so we asked if we could go look at the bar (it is table service only) and the bar lady shorted GET AWAY FROM THE BAR, STAND BACK! we were really gobsmacked as if the bar staff cannot tell you what there is to drink, and you don't have any menus, how are you supposed to know unless you check? Really poor service from most of the bar staff we encountered. The entertainment on an evening was great, although get in early or you won't get a table. Very little social distancing in there, though. Table service all night but getting drinks wrong and not delivering the right drinks... asked for vodka & coke but got coke and no vodka... all in all a pleasant stay with great food and great entertainment. Beds are horrendously hard, as are the pillows and our whole party ache from a weekend of little sleep and hard mattresses. If I came again, I would drink enough to knock me out as the rooms just aren't up to standard.

Booked on a so called all inclusive weekend to find its only for the alcohol drinkers unless you want coke or lemonade. Alcohol free choices were bottled lager at £2 per bottle j20 at £1 per bottle. I really think that if you advertise and charge for all inclusive it should be ALL INCLUSIVE. The bedroom was fine except for the pigeons on the roof so you had to shut the window for piece and quiet. Bathroom was ok. Room was clean bedding and towels were clean. Food was descent but served at 100 miles per hour. Entertainment we did not go as we couldn't any alcohol free drinks apart from bottle of lager or j20 at a cost.
