Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you so much to the hosts for a wonderful stay. It’s the perfect place to stay as it’s so central to everything. The rooms are clean and cosy. It has a great bar down stairs that is perfect as it has everything in it and kay and family just make you so welcome. Would not stay anywhere else.

We first found this gem in the middle of August 2022 and 6 weeks later we came back! Initially myself and partner had come up for a break away for a couple of nights, after our first visit and staring down the barrell of family birthdays, anniversaries etc, we thought a perfect way would be to bring the family and experience the Mornington motto - 'enter as guests, leave as friends..... From the minute you press the bell to enter the hotel the beaming smile of Kay greets you to instantly feel like a home from home, it truly feels like your visiting a family member. Kay and her husband John have got it so right from the standards of the room to the perfect bar area, superbly stocked and brilliant prices. To the lowdown of anything you need to know at Blackpool. I honestly can't tell you how lovely this couple are and I truly see them as friends having never met them until a couple of months ago....it truly is that special. If its a family room, a double bed, single person - everyone is catered for, the rooms are SPOTLESS! I know the time and pride they take in the rooms and across myself and our family we have had 4 different rooms and each have everything you need and so clean......if you need anything additional for your room, just shout up and I'm sure kays dad will be there in minutes with whatever you need for the room (what a wonderful man he is, and always has a wave and a smile every morning from behind his newspaper and cuppa) To top it often all within less than 100 yards is a lovely wetherspoons (yes lovely!) South pier, tram stop, huge chippy, a little shop and slightly further the pleasure Beach so easy to get anywhere in blackpool.....yet the hotel is so quiet in the evening too. Happy days! Lastly the bar area......well, with a million bars to choose in Blackpool, why bother when the perfect pint is served, good prices, feels like your actually in a pub not the typical hotel bar, actually feels like a pub! From the greeting, to the brilliant comfort of the rooms, the conversations and hospitality.....the cynics will always say 'there supposed too' but this is so much more! It's a home from home - where you enter as guests, and leave as friends! Can't wait to come back to see kay and John, who we now class as dear friends, having only met them for the first time a couple of months ago! That's what the place does.......you will not be disappointed!

The outside of the hotel (entry to the hotel) was green except that the swing and the chairs table was dusty. The corridor was 6/10 in cleanliness, the bedroom was 6/10 in cleanliness. The owner said due to covid housekeeping is not there except that they will provide fresh towels and tea bags. Bathroom was 10/10 clean and bed head space where the pillows are held was dusty again and I bent down to pick up the crockery once so got myself tangled in cobwebs. Overall I can say cleanliness needs to be taken care of. Honestly I find no reason to visit Blackpool again except to meet the Petulengros( near tower). Do get your readings done. They are 100 per accurate. Forgot to mention the grandfather was cool and every day we wished each other best mornings.

This is a jewel in the crown of Blackpool. What a find for us!! This is not our first visit to the Mornington and most certainly will not be our last. The hotel is exceptionally clean both in the rooms and the public areas. (And always smells lovely!!) Then let’s get on to John and Kay who are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Every guest who visit’s this hotel will feel like a VIP. I can’t praise John and Kay’s hospitality enough. They have a well stocked and reasonably priced bar. Thanks again for another fantastic stay at The Mornington Blackpool!!💗💗

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. From location, first appreances outside, to first impression inside, we couldn't fault it. Kay and John can't do enough for you, we would definitely stay again, and would recommend to anyone. We had two ensuite rooms, one for ourselves, one for our kids, both really spacious, and spotless. Beds really comfortable, bedding white and fresh smelling, as were the towels. Both ourselves and kids enjoyed the bar area downstairs, with football on, music, pool, darts, and games machines. Cant wait to come back!

We stayed here for a week with our 2 daughters. The hotel is spotless. Kay could not have been any friendlier or helpful. Nothing was too much for her. Kay John and Kay’s dad made us feel so welcome,so much so that we have booked a long weekend in October. Can’t wait to go back. X

We have been staying at this hotel for years. The place is squeaky clean and the rooms are lovely. John & Kay are so welcoming. They work so hard but always have time for a chat. Absolutely beautiful people and a beautiful hotel. You will never be disappointed if you stay here. Hope to see you all soon - Danielle, Matt & Bailey x x x
