We booked last minute for this weekend break at the Silversands Hotel in Blackpool and we were overjoyed at the accommodation that we were given at such a small price.
The hotel is at the Pleasure Beach end of the resort but this is great it is quiet and not as crowded. The hotel has a lot to offer as it is just off the main road (Burlington Road West) close to the south pier and a short tram ride from the centre. The rooms are well tended clean and comfortable with everything you need. The bed was comfortable and there was spare pillows which is always nice.
Our room was on the first of 3 floors and served by a lift which had it quirks but did the job. The bar area and dining room were well presented with a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. We enjoyed great entertainment on the two nights we were there and the staff were always cheery and eager to please. The restaurant was well staffed with well trained waiting staff who were Keen to please and the food was plentiful and well presented. A joy indeed

The manager to say the least was a bit ruff. The rest of the staff mayed up for the manager, the lift was worst for ware, when you got in it would drop sharply, The room was very basic, the bed had seen better days, room feisty and toilet smelled of urine, the room had a fur coat. Never been dusted, meals were eatable but child portions, you had to eat your soup very quickly before it evaporated, breakfast toast and tea cold, put on table before we got down for breakfast,
The only good thing was you got 4 drinks per night free

Stayed at this hotel twice in the last month (24th June) (11th July)and I think it is one of the best ones I have stayed in on coach tours. My 1st trip was with a friend for a girls weekend, we have a twin bedroom. It was a nice size and very clean. The staff were really nice and greeted us with happy smiles everyday. I did not stay for entertainment on that holiday. My 2nd trip was with a group of older ladies ( mam, auntie and a friend ) they loved every minute of it. Friendly staff, nice rooms and the entertainment was really good. The one night we did go out they even kept the bar open for us until we got back to order 1 last drink haha. The meals were your normal blackpool hotel meals which was fine by us. The bar is really well priced and the hotel has many regulars who go back all the time who also make the trip enjoyable. The staff even remembered me from my previous trip with my friend ( helps that my hair is blue haha). I will definitely be booking back up next year for my family holiday and my girls weekend.

Where do I start, start with manger she was rude ignorant her attitude stinks. Bar men were fab. When I opened the room to my bedroom it was like going back in time faulty lights, mould everywhere, don't think the room was properly cleaned, as I opened beside table drawer there were loose drugs lying in drawer tablet form they were in bag and some lying loose in drawer. Toilet covered in mould there was a dried up dirty cloth lying in sink. The nets on windows don't think have been washed for years. And the dirt that was lying on window sill was shocking. After we had our shower left towels in shower cubicle so we would get fresh ones. They took dirty ones away never replaced had to ask for fresh ones, they got replaced same happened next day, only to be told they would be in my room later they never got replaced so couldn't get a shower in the morning. The lift is doggie a few people got stuck, someone stated the lift had been faulty for months. Table covers were not changed the table I sat at someone had spilled something and the stain was still there 3 days later. The meals were not hot, The stoor (dust) was everywhere even in the bar, reception don't know last time it had a wipe down.

Breakfast was OK first morning but second day took 50 mins to be served n the egg smelt n tasted horrible so got up n left Sunday evening the entertainment doors were locked nothing going on no bingo no entertainment if I knew this I would of stayed at home instead of sitting up in our room n couldn't get a drink the new management look like they need a good shower n shave will NOT BE RETURNING place has gone down hill since Richard has left every one was on about it n said they will look elsewhere next year what a waste of money .

Good Value for Money

My friend and I travelled with Caledonian and spent 2 nights at The Silversands, we have previously stayed here with National Holidays. We had a lovely room which was very clean and also had a bath which my friend was over the moon as prefers this to a shower.
Breakfast very good although on the small side was sufficient for us, choice of evening meal included starter and dessert.

Hotel is past the Pleasure Beach but tram stop is just over the road so very handy. Nice walk to the South Pier and beyond if feeling fit!!

We didnt stay in for the entertainment as we prefer to do our own thing but did have a drink in the bar which was reasonably priced.

This is a good hotel, staff are all very friendly, cant fault it and will happily stay here again.

The first impression from the outside was ok that is until I walked in through the door I noticed cigarette ends on the matt entrance, a clingy musty smell of cigarettes hit you as you went in through the door into reception, the lift coming up to for a while it made a crashing noise as it went up so I decided not to use it again did not like it, also the smell was right throughout the hotel even in the room I was staying it I felt like throwing up as I got my case in, in the room the carpets were stained I had to use Febreze to get rid of the smells which did help but the pillows on the bed were stinky I put a towel around the when I slept, at night the smell of smoke came up from the smokers outside through the window up until after 11pm also some people staying there it was rowdy also a drunk man causing grief with the singer and people staying at the hotel, the next day I went for the small carton of milk the cup was dirty also the milk was curdled so I did without, walking down the steep steps the carpets were thread bare also the bannister was sticky to the touch, carpets are outdated orange patterns throughout also thread bare.

The dinner table the glass cups were filthy like they had not been washed properly someone got up complained about the meal and walked off, I was put off straight away decided not to eat there whilst my dad and his partner decided to stay and eat, I didn't have breakfast there either it looked just as bad as last night.

I was glad to leave after the second night and get back home, I will not be back at this hotel I can see that it could improve if refurbished with proper care taken of it.

Stayed here a couple of nights last week and the place totally exceeded my expectations for the price we paid. Place was spotless, comy bed, nice cooked breakfast and to be honest the place felt a great home from home. Located on south beach its was a nice we stroll along the prom to the main attractions. Entertainment was good both nights we stayed and a very reasonable priced bar ( Double G & T and pint of Cider £7.10 anyone ??? Friendly helpfull staff rounded off a perfect stay

Well situated hotel for the pleasure beach very short walking distance. Quick check in. Hotel clean and tidy, basic accommodation but thats all you need as your mostly out and about. Food was good. Dining room staff were the best bit about the hotel along with the chef they could not do enough for us especially Shane, Ryan and the two lovely ladies they all worked so hard to ensure everyone in the restaurant was well taken care of even the customers who were rude to them. They were highly profesional with them and it was service with a smile. The restaurant staff also gave us good advise about places to go to or to avoid on our visit which was very helpful. I spoke to the owner regarding the dining team he said they are a relatively new team I thought they had worked together for ages as they work well together. He mentioned giving them a bonus I hope that he does as happy staff equals happy customers. And I would definitely go back there if it was the same staff. Thank you for your hospitality.

Visited with my mother 4th september for a week on a caledonian bus trip. The hotel is dated but very clean. The entertainment was aimed at older people but the singers were very good, I even won £50 on Bingo my 1st night. I am a very fussy eater and the staff bent over backwards to make sure i had something every night that I ate. Shout out to the man with tattoos and the lady with a high bun ( did not get names) for running round getting everyone sorted and helping people with special diets. My only issue was ,I do think the bed bases need replacing mine was like a surfboard on water haha. The hotel is practically over the road from a tram stop, has friendly staff and a good selection of drinks at the bar. This is my 3rd year staying and I will be back next year depending on my mothers health. People need to remeber when you book a 3 star hotel it will not be like the ritz, So wish I could have shouted this at another guest who was there the same time, stressing the staff.
