Stayed on a Saturday night as we were attending an awards ceremony at the Athina Conference centre. Our room was large and clean. The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows should you need them. We were on the 5th floor and we could hear no road noise or indeed any noise from the corridor. The bathroom was very clean and it had a bath with a shower over. The shower was very good and had great water pressure. There was a kettle with tea and coffee available, Free parking was available in the hotel basement although it is a very tight entry into the parking area if you have a large car.
We had booked the breakfast which although not cheap was great value, with a good selection of hot and cold food. Good coffee too. The only problem we had was with the lifts which were quite slow but it's nothing to really complain about.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully will stay there again next year.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the quieter it is. We had a corner room and it was great.

I stay here every week for two nights for work. It is an excellent location right next door to the train station and you literally cross the road and you're in the City with all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and you don't hear any traffic noise despite being on a busy main road. The standard connection for the free wifi is poor, so recommend paying £5 for the upgrade if you want to watch Netflix and there is no connection in certain areas of the hotel such as some of the rooms which have the big pillars in them.

I like staying here, there is a warm, homely atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The only gripe I have is they seem to be understaffed and often there is nobody serving at the bar, or on reception, because they are busy elsewhere covering another area. This is down to the Senior Management of the company to sort though as you can clearly tell they are under pressure.

We arrived at the hotel for 3pm and a long queue was waiting for us. When we finally got seen we were told we would have to wait an hour to check in. OK we thought it is what it is. When we finally checked in we walked into a dirty room. I do carry wet wipes anyway and ended up cleaning the room myself. There was one towel and the toilet tissue had not been stocked up had to go down and ask reception. The sink was full of limescale and the desk dirty. The room space was limited due to the monstractory of a pillar in the middle of the room. I get why it was there due to the construction but the room felt small. You can park in their car park for £5 a day which is not bad given they are in the centre of town. The shopping area is a 5 minute walk with plenty of places to eat. To sum up whilst the hotel was generally quiet they do need to up their game with housekeeping. It was poor and given COVID more attention should be paid to this.

Have stayed here many times. Last time was the weekend as we went into Lockdown in March 2020. What hasn't changed since then and is a little disappointing is rooms not being Serviced. Seems a bit of a get out clause, as you have to catch someone doing room changeover to get mugs, teaspoons replaced (because they don't provide washing up equipment) and supplies else go down to Reception (no phone to phone reception) which is a bit of a pain with the lift or stairs (and you'll encounter more people than if they'd serviced the rooms). They now also charge for car parking which they didn't pre Covid (albeit subsidised), It was still a clean, comfortable Hotel in a great location and all staff encountered were polite - but you definitely pay more and get less now.

We have used this hotel before and it is OK. Adjacent to the Railway station. This trip was made memorable in all the wrong ways by an event on the third morning. My wife had just come out of the shower to get dressed when the room door opened and a woman stood in the door. Seeing the situation she said 'I should have knocked' then that she was looking for a work colleague in our room. she then left us and we called reception on our mobile. It transpired that she had shown reception an email from someone with the same first name as my wife and was given a key to our floor and our room! It transpired that the person she was looking for was staying in another Premier Inn altogether. When we left the hotel that morning we went to reception and it was busy so we went to complain when we returned and asked for the manager. It transpired that the manager was the person who had issued the key and she apologised but In our opinion, it was totally wrong for the key to be issued to someone without checking with us first. We were worried about the room and it's contents for the rest of the day. We completed an online survey about the stay but have heard nothing.

I stayed here for one night in October 2020. My room was on the fourth floor. Standard premier in , nice and clean and extra comfy bed. I always sleep well in Premier Inns! There was an odd large pillar in the room in front of the window. I can only assume it was some sort of supporting pillar. Just as well the view from the window was horrific so it didn’t matter that my view was completely obscured from the bed. The staff were all welcoming and the check in was easy. Parking was great in the basement of the hotel. Parking was free as well and plenty of spaces. I paid for the meal deal which was for an evening meal/pudding and a drink plus the breakfast. This is where the Premier Inn lets itself down. Due to Covid the restaurant was not open in the evening so I had to order from the menu and collect it in take away form to be eaten in my room. The presentation was horrific - it was cardboard boxes that were far too big for the portion size meaning the food just sat in one corner of the cheap cardboard box and had spilled all up the sides by the time I got it to my room. I ordered chilli con carne with rice and a brownie for dessert (the choice was quite limited and the pizza was off the menu as well!). I have attached photos to show you how laughable it was. However breakfast was served by a waitress in the restaurant so I cannot understand why the evening meal cannot be that way as well. It doesn’t make sense to do one and not the other. The breakfast was great and the waitress adorable. Premier Inn need to quickly sort the evening meal out - plastic containers would be better. If felt like some kind of prison food. A massive let down for the good but overall room was good

"If you say so" isn't something I want to hear after cycling 60 miles. Before Leicester, the two Premier Inns I'd stayed at were both warm and welcoming of both me and my clean bicycle; it's hard to find hotels that provide safe cycle storage overnight, with Premier Inn offering this as standard on their website. But here, I had to persuade the receptionist of this. Between them, they managed to make me feel unwelcome during my stay, and I worried if the next Premier Inn I stayed at would just turn me and my bicycle away entirely (they didn't - thanks Derby!).

Apart from that, it's a good hotel. The room was clean and everything worked great. It's very well situated close to the town - an easy walk. And the breakfast staff were lovely - notably different from the reception staff on Monday and Tuesday.

I normally don't write reviews as my stays in hotels normally go without major issues but my experience in this hotel was really terrible.

I had many issues;
The first one that I phoned one day before my arrival to have a room on the top floors (to make the kids happy) and the receptionist confirmed that yes we will do that. But when I arrived I found that they completely ignored my request giving me a room in the second floor which really disappointed the kids! When I asked why you didn't put us in a top floor? they can't give me a reasonable answer and then finally said the housekeeping may forgot about it!!!

The second issue was with the bath which was faulty and then the water overflow the bath and the water went outside the toilet making carpets wet. I told the reception to fix this, even dry the carpet because it was very wet, and again she said this is a major issue and we will fix this, but then when I returned to the room at evening, I found nothing fixed; the bath is still faulty and the carpet is still wet!!!

The third issue with changing the towels; I put it outside in order to be replaced. But the housekeeping took the old ones without putting any new ones which was very strange situation and unprofessional at all.

It was an odd experience, the central location of the hotel is really convenient but these terrible issues really put me off going to any Premier Inn hotel again.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Leicester City Centre Hotel
Responded 11 Nov 2020
Hello there, thanks for taking the time to share your review. Whilst we're happy to hear you usually enjoy your stay's with us, we're sorry the same can't be said on this occasion. I can imagine the issues with the bath and no towel replacement left you feeling let down and this certainly isn't how we want our guest's to feel. I'm also sorry the team couldn't accommodate your request. Whilst our team's try their very best to accommodate all request's, this isn't something we can guarantee I'm afraid. Just so you know, we've now made a record or your comment's and have passed them to the hotel management team to see what improvement's can be made going forward. We wouldn't want standard's like these to continue so the bath will be checked to ensure any issues are rectified. This will also be raised with the Reception and House Keeping team to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope this doesn't make you think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard's and your comment's have been picked up. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

Staff were friendly and welcoming, covid rules were adherred to. Easy check-in and check-out. Service was excellent and rooms plus communal areas were clean. Being disabled I stayed in an accessible room, paid for Ultimate WiFi was great when it worked (the WiFi Access Point played up during the evenings), WiFi is £5 per 24hrs and £15 for 7 days. The only annoying thing that i found with the room was that there were no plug sockets next to the bed so if you do need them then i suggest a 5m extension cable to take with you. Parking is onsite for disabled users and guests if spaces available, is an undergraound car park and is charged at £5 per day. Great central location, will definately be returning again.

There is very limited parking available near the hotel at a small cost. Please contact the hotel to advise you. As it is the city centre, I would recommend using NCP car parks nearby as they are cheaper and safer.
