Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This 'hotel' serves no food at all. I was allowed into the entrance to pay on arrival, get keys and be shown a room in an annex. Contact with foyer was via a speaker on the front door. "W hat do you want?" was not encouraging. The shower of the room said there were plenty of cafes and takeaways within walking distance or there was Iceland or Aldis. I could eat in the room or outside! Not within walking distance for older people or in bad weather. He recommended the Coffee Bean: it opens a.m. when they like (good food) and closes at 3pm or whenever. Shopping at Iceland is fine but a motel would have a fridge for eg cheese. Room was clean.

Advertised as hotel with bar, gym & restaurant, in fact you only enter the hotel for your keys & to pay, only after you have rang the door bell to get someone’s attention. Your stay is in a block of rooms at the side of the hotel, near the car park. No bar, restaurant or gym. You have a room and no facilities - a motel. Our room was clean with kettle, tea, coffee etc. However our room was very cold when we returned late at night after a family meal, the radiator stayed cold all night and it was a very cold night. The hotel itself looks as if it needs lots of attention, and our room needed new window frames & attention to the bathroom. It is in a good location with shops, cafes, etc close by, which is good if you’re looking for breakfast, or a meal. This hotel used to be lovely with a great restaurant but it looks very sad now.

We have just a fabulous gathering of family and friends for a 80th birthday celebration. The buffet and bar facilities were excellent, all fresh food with vegan and vegetarian food also supplied. All the staff were so helpful and pleasant and made us feel so welcome. A few of us stayed overnight, en suite rooms were comfortable and spacious with tv, coffee/tea making facilities, trouser press and in a quiet area for good sleep. A good time was had by us all. Thankyou.

We stayed one night in the hotel as we were going to a family party at the vipers rugby club which was only a short distance from the hotel. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Iron and ironing board in the room which was perfect for last minute shirt press. Shower was over the bath and very clean. I was a little scared getting out of the shower as no hand rail to grab for safety. The handrail was near the shower head. Not much noise at night so had a good night sleep. Great English breakfast! Great staff.

My husband and I stayed 1 night. We stopped by to see family on our way north. At first glance things looked acceptable. Then we found a bag of trash sitting on the windowsill in our room. Small things like no bath mat and loose safety rails in the shower (glad neither of us was relying on it for balance!) began to add up. The Blaby definitely needs refurbishing. We wouldn't stay here again. We did not eat here so cannot comment on food.

The staff were really polite and very helpful. The breakfast was freshly cooked and not sitting around on hot plates. The room was large. The bedding was clean but the duvet had obviously been washed and all the stuffing was clumped in balls. The quilt was also a winter one about 7 inches thick, which made for a very warm uncomfortable night. There was no bath mat and only 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. When this was mentioned we were brought a rubber mat. The décor in the hotel need to be re done lots of, what looks like damp patches in the room and in the bar. Not the worst place we've stayed but not the best either. A little bit of TLC and it could be a real stunner.
