Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a surprisingly good stay at the Belmont on a Wednesday night in April. The room was amazingly inexpensive and included a king size double bed, ensuite with bath and shower, breakfast and £30 towards dinner. Everything was nice and clean in the room and elsewhere. The staff were professional, helpful and welcoming. The only thing I could criticise is the decoration and DIY, but it's perfectly acceptable even without considering the price. The hotel has its own private (and free) car park. It is situated near the station and the centre of Leicester. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. If you want to travel further afield there are plenty of taxis and Ubers around.

What a lovely hotel, very bespoke, beautifully decorated, clean, in a lovely part of the city, very old nostalgic part of Leicester and the staff are great. I come to Leicester on business and this is far better than your run of the mill premier inn and cheaper

Afternoon Tea was not value for money. £60 for the three of us. Would have been nice if we were asked our choice of sandwiches as none of us like smoked salmon. Would have been nice to have beef and chicken in the sandwiches. A few sweet treats and some scones on top of one three tier stand for three of us was not impressed. The Hotel and Staff 10 out 10.

Room spacious and well furnished, staff smiling, helpful and available. The little things, late check in, late meals, all no problem. My wife said "next time we come to Leicester don't bother looking at other hotels" I fully agree. My compliments to staff and management alike.

We stayed for three nights and have no complaints at all. Lovely clean room with a decent bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful and I think that is why we enjoyed our stay so much. Conveniently situated in the city in a nice old building. Excellent. Well done all.

After having a break for five years Im back travelling for work. I have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. The hotel is hassle free nothing is a problem, rooms are clean bright and kept to a high standard. I like the 06;30 breakfast for that early getaway wish other hotels would offer this. Im back again next week , bit of advice book in advance rooms go quick

I really put some hard work deciding where to stay in Leicester on this particular week end. I looked at a lot of reviews, looked at the prices, parking and location. I decided on this non-chain hotel which is pretty much in the centre of the city. And to get into the centre is a straight path, New Walk, which is well used, well lit and takes you past some interesting charming old houses and also the museum. So this is a great locality to stay. They don't charge for parking, which in the end really swung my decision to stay here. The price was very reasonable, the room (We picked a suite) was excellent. Spacious and luxurious. Loved the Bath. Initially could not find a kettle, as there was just a coffee machine present, but found it, along with cups, biscuits etc, stowed away in a beautiful box near the wardrobe. This hotel has a lot of character and a lot of history. I heard quiet a few guest reading up on it during our stay. The breakfast was amazing on both days. Sunday the service was a bit slow, but we did arrive at the peak time. We had Saturday evening food, which was tasty, and well cooked (very crispy batter on the fish) . The bar was well stocked, and they had their own draft larger, not normally a fan, but was very nice. Reasonable prices too. All the staff were great, friendly and very helpful. I read other reviews of this hotel and found that such things as noise were unfounded. I had a good nights sleep, no noise from the street. The hotel needs a bit of TLC in some places, such as the window frames but I am sure the management have this in hand. It doesn't detract in any way from my very pleasant stay here. I have already decided that this will be my hotel of choice when returning to Leicester.

A return visit to the Belmont with my friends - we all travelled from different directions to meet in Leicester. We were warmly welcomed and lovely rooms allocated. We chose the Belmont as it is very easy to walk into the city centre, and handy for the station. Free parking on site too. A comfy nights sleep, excellent breakfast (including suitable food for my coeliac vegan friend. Friendly bar man and comfy space to relax after the theatre. We will certainly return.
