Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rooms were fine and cheap enough, however very odd check in times between 11 and 1 and 5-8 which is bizarre. Owner was very angry for me parking outside, please dont put tape all over my windscreen - i cannot get this glue off my car. Overall poor experience.

This B&B is an excellent choice for a budget overnight stay. The staff were polite and helpful. My room had a comfy bed and clean sheets, a kettle, a fridge, a tv and a basin with a shared toilet and shower. There is no food offered, but shops nearby to pick up meals. It's very simple, reasonably clean and within 15 minutes walk of the centre of Leicester. Everyone was respectful of being quiet. If you don't need all the arty-farty trimmings of a hotel, it's great choice.

There's no way anyone could feasibly give Glenfield Lodge 5* and I'm sure the owners don't even strive for that. It's less than a mile from the city centre and is basic - it's mainly used by companies to accommodate construction workers during the week. The room had a working basic TV, kettle, and sink. The toilet and bathroom (both very clean and functional) were at the end of the passage. The building is tired internally. No doubt about that. It is a place just to sleep but - here's the rest of it. The gentleman on duty was polite, friendly and thorough. Even though we were only staying for one night we were treated very well. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. To our surprise, it was extremely quiet. Either no one stats there at the weekends or the residents are very considerate. And now the biggest thing - £37 for a twin room booked only a few days in advance. Incredible value for money.

I can't fault the service and friendly welcome. I'm a regular visitor and it's perfect for me. Very close to a couple of pubs, one of which has a very good food menu. A 2 minute walk away from the bus stop which takes you to the city centre and the location is very quiet.

We attended a wedding - this is a very affordable B&B near city centre. Bob the owner made us feel very welcome and bought us fresh towels and water etc. Even though this is a budget B&B, the customer service is EXCEPTIONAL. We will certainly visit again as a family - thank you Bob and the staff!

A fifteen minute walk from city centre, it’s clean and comfortable. Room was quite big. Clean linen. Shared bathroom and toilet were clean and functional. Space for parking as well as on the road. Excellent price too.

This hotel is located within 10 minutes walk from the city centre. There are local shops, restaurants and amenities on the nearby Narborough Road. There is ample parking and regular buses into the city centre. The hotel is welcoming, staff are extremely helpful and generous with everyday items, tea, towels etc. The rooms are private, spacey, with a light and airy feel and kept immaculately clean with lovely comfortable beds. The hotel is secure and very well maintained. Staff are at hand 24 hrs and are always helpful and pleasant. I have stayed on occasion over this past year and Glenfield Lodge is truly my hotel of choice whenever I visit Leicester.

We are stayed 5 nights to visit this section of the midlands. Host was most helpful with orientation to house and surroundings. Room was spotless as was shared bathroom. Parked easily within a few streets as only 3 spaces outside. Felt safe about returning after dark. 10 min walk to Tesco. Other reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Walked to the cathedral in about 30min.

Room: comfortable beds, good distance to plug sockets and good lighting (natural and artificial). Quiet and contains sink, though bathrooms are communal to each floor. Free WiFi included and is of reasonable quality, reaching all rooms. Communal lounge is small, with one large dining table and surrounding sofa and chairs. Very dimly lit of an evening, but good in the daytime. Very few power sockets here and poorly located. The front desk was not frequently staffed during my stay, but rooms were cleaned daily. Bathroom was of reasonable condition, but could be cleaner. Would have been useful to have more than one room/front door key per room, given we had three of us in the room all doing our own things through the day. Overall, very good value for money but some improvements could be made.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It was a pleasure to host you all. Thank you for your positive comments which will help us enhance our services. Unlike hotels, guest house and bed and breakfast establishments do not require 24 hour staff at.the front desk. When guests arrive they are given phone numbers to contact manager at any time should there be any issues.. Also phone numbers are displayed at various places. For instance if you required extra keys or had problems with dim lights, you could have phoned or messaged me any time and I would have resolved the matter, thus you all would have had a better experience. The dim lights in the dining area are automatic day light sensors which comes on when is dark outside and remains on throughout the night. The normal lights can be switched on and off as and when required. Our commitment to improving Glenfield Lodge has been ongoing. Last year we refurbished the two shower rooms and toilets on the 1st floor and the second floor bathroom is due to be refurbished this year.
