This is at least our 5th stay in the Old Palace and we would never stay anywhere else in Lincoln. Every room is stunning and well equipped, with coffee, cookies, toiletries etc The service is amazing and the hotel absolutely beautiful. The location is also perfect, at the top of steep hill. We came yesterday intending to stay for one night and this morning we were completely snowed in. The hotel manager and member of staff on duty were unbelievably lovely and accommodating, offering us a discounted stay tonight and reassuring us that our safety was their main consideration. Unable to get home safely we have stayed a second night and we are so grateful that we chose this hotel again, the staff have braved the weather to get here and offer a gold standard service and have gone out of their way to keep guests safe. Many thanks we will be back next year.

What a fabulous find. Gorgeous little hotel with real character and unique rooms. Lovely touches like fresh milk for tea and orange juice in the fridge. The staff were the highlight, welcoming and accommodating. The hotel is right next to the cathedral so perfect for a night out. We got snowed in and they offered us a further stay at discounted rates to help out. Would absolutely stay here again.

We were looking for a pre Christmas night away with my in laws and found this absolute gem of a spot! The property is half way up steep hill , centrally located with parking included. A beautiful building converted into accommodation which has been excellently furnished. The greeting and check in process was simple and very friendly. I apologises that i didn't get the name but the welcome was fab, a definite asset to the business. The rooms were amazing and a lot larger than most at this price point. We opted for the cooked breakfast option, which is in a separate tea rooms by the cathedral and that was exceptionally good also. Whenever were back in Lincoln we will check The Old Palace Lodge first for accommodation as for us it was pretty flawless. Thank you for a perfect stay.

Brilliant find of a hotel. Right in the center with free parking at a very reasonable price. Car park open from 12. Staff meet you explain everything about gate/key fobs. 2mins walk to cathedral area or 10min walk to canal area. Room was very nice. Worth staying just for the parking. I will always try to stay here every time i visit.

Beautiful building from the outside. Parking was good and gated which was a bonus. The room was small with what felt like too much furniture in it for its size, it was very dark too with only a slim skylight for daylight. The bed was very comfortable and the tea and coffee facilities were excellent with a Nespresso machine. There was a fridge with 3 jugs, orange juice, water and milk. I think the milk was rather too much and most of it would go to waste as it can't (or shouldn't) be used for the next guests as it is in an open jug but the water and juice was an excellent touch. Unfortunately the shower didn't get hot so we couldn't shower and the croissants that were left on the door were so burnt they were inedible which I was really disappointed about as I was looking forward to the light breakfast. On leaving we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay or if everything was OK, the lady just took our key off us and said goodbye. Had she have asked, I would have mentioned the shower and the croissants but she didn't so it's in my review instead. Would we stay again? Yes, we would, as long as we were guaranteed hot water. The location is excellent and all in all it was a good stay.

Thankyou for taking time to write this review. We did have a problem with the hot water but it was dealt with on that day and was rectified. As you know we cannot replace windows in this listed property but the more expensive rooms have lovely windows, unfortunately the standard doubles do not. I have passed on your comments to our staff regarding the croissant Please let us know if you have any problems as we welcome your feedback while at the hotel.

Great little place and I think it’s a hidden gem. An old church converted and each room is very different. Tucked away in the Cathedral Quarter and seconds away from the castle. Lovely clean rooms and so well appointed. No restaurant but being so close to all the restaurants and bars it wasn’t a problem for us. The added bonus of having freshly baked croissants left on the door in the morning was a nice touch. Fresh milk and juice in the little fridge just made it a very nice place to stay. Secure car park and very friendly staff, it made our trip. Would definitely recommend this quirky and amazing place.

We have stayed here several times previously, and this is always our first choice of somewhere to stay in Lincoln. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The prices are competitive. Everywhere is very clean. Our car is secure as it’s parked behind locked gates. We choose their hot croissant and yoghurt breakfast option, which smells delicious wafting around. With an hour or so to spare on this visit, we sat in the summer sunshine reading a book in their garden. We’ll definitely be staying there again!

We stayed in the Green Room and what a lovely room it was, the vast impressive window that greets you when you enter kept us enthralled the whole time we were there. Breakfast was a freshly baked croissant and yoghurt delivered to your door for a time of your choosing and it was good!!! The amenities were excellent, kettle and a coffee machine as well as a selection of teas and biscuits. There was ample milk as well as orange juice and bottles of water. Friendly helpful staff are there during the day but available by phone at night. The parking is a secure enclosed area. It’s worth noting you can only access the parking after 12pm on the day of arrival. Easy access and in easy reach of the main attractions such as the castle and cathedral. Also lots of lovely independent shops very close by. Thank you for a lovely stay! Regards C&E
