Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Individual and unique hotel with lots of character. We had a double delux room with shower. Nice size room with comfy bed and lovely features including original church window overlooking Lincoln town. Breakfast of croissant and yoghurt was lovely (option to have hot food at local cafe). Would definitely stay again if we are in the area

First time in Lincoln and needed somewhere for one night and this was the most reasonable priced place to stay! Small but comfy room right next to the cathedral and a short (but steep!) walk to town. Nice little amenities in the room; biscuits, fresh orange in the fridge and plenty of tea and coffee. VERY clean bathroom. Highly recommend

Lovely unique b and b in an excellent position to explore Lincoln. Very clean and extra facilities a nice touch such as fridge with fresh milk, orange juice and water. Complimentary breakfast was a nice idea however on both days the croissants were warmed but undercooked so unable to eat.

I’ll keep it simple, brilliant staff, so friendly and welcoming. Brilliant hotel and facilities,. Very clean, and luxurious. Fantastic location, a stones throw away from the Cathedral and Castle. Everything was just great, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Wonderfully quirky and interesting hotel, which also happens to be very comfortable. Also excellently located for the best parts of ancient Lincoln, and a relatively short distance from the town centre. Just be aware of the taxing climb up the aptly named Steep Hill!

The Old Palace Lodge is a perfect base to explore the uphill highlights of Lincoln, including the magnificent Cathedral, the medieval castle, Bailgate, the arboretum and the shops, pubs and eateries on the pretty cobbled streets, including the famous Steep Hill. A former gothic church, it’s has been beautifully refurbished into an elegant, comfy and cosy guesthouse. The rooms have great character and the staff are fabulous. You get thoughtful touches like fresh milk & orange juice in your fridge … and they gave us an anniversary card! Impressively for somewhere right next to the Cathedral, it has its own (gated) on-site parking. We loved it. Finally, they have link with the super cute Bell’s tea & coffee house, around the corner, where you get booked in for a cooked breakfast if required.

Unique place to stay. As a history buff this place was brilliant. It was a gift for us following our engagement in December, the staff decorated the room which was a thoughtful touch. The rooms a spacious, fantastic views of Lincoln. Staff both friendly and thorough with detailing the arrangements. Bathe rooms are equipped with tea/coffee/ juice and fresh milk. One couldn’t ask for more. We have already recommended and will return! Luke and Laura

Fantastic hotel in a superb location with easy access to the city centre and all the sites. Very professional and friendly staff, room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was croissants and yoghurt and was very tasty, we opted not to have a hot breakfast for ease. We would definitely recommend and will use again!

This was our 2nd stay at The Old Palace Lodge this time on NYE. Free secure parking, friendly welcoming staff We booked a deluxe double room and it did not disappoint. Loved the window Room was so cosy and romantic. (We did struggle slightly to keep the room at a comfortable temperature) Excellent tea/coffee try with good quality teabags. Fridge in room which meant we could chill our prosecco. Absolutely love the cute idea for breakfast where hot crossaints are left on your door. One small negative the hotel advertised toiletries - I normally always take my own shower gel and the time I decided not too there was no shower gel just shampoo & conditioner but this didn’t spoil our stay Definitely will be staying again!
