This hotel is very poor, was greeted with the need to pay a £50 deposit, even though we had paid in full prior to arrival, the deposit was only allowed in cash, so had to go find a cash machine. when I arrived at the room there was a deposit in the bathroom toilet which the staff took 10mins+ to clear, stating the room wasn't used the night before, so it had been there for a while, disgusting. The room was very poor with soiled bedding a TV that doesn't work a remote with one battery and no back, just one plug extension lead for the whole room, a curtain missing, and a dirty floor. The entrance has dirt/dust on fire extinguishers etc, clearly isn't cleaned properly,

My girlfriend and I were scheduled to stay at the hotel on the 6th of June for one night. Upon arrival, we soon realised that the entire ground floor was an Irish Bar with extremely loud singing and music at around 3 pm. The music was so loud that I had to put my ear to the staff and move into another room in order to hear what they were saying. This was after a long 10-minute wait for someone to check us in. We went up to our room and were greeted with a filthy bathroom and a room with all appliances unplugged and a disgusting coffee table that had sticky coffee grains and sugar in an open tupperware box. The worst part about the room was that you felt like you were still in the Irish Bar downstairs! The music was horrifically loud and we immediately knew we had to leave.

We went down and asked for a refund. We were given our deposit back and were told that we had to get the rest of our money back through Booking.com. After weeks and weeks of messaging and requesting The Vines through Booking.com, we are yet to receive a reply.

AWFUL experience.

We stayed a total of 5mins and left the hotel is actually part of a pub. We checked in and was shown to our room upon inspection of the room we discovered a broken wall socket with exposed wires. I went down and asked them to change our room we didn’t feel safe. The person that checked us in got another person who claimed to have cleaned that room said nothing was wrong with the room she quickly changed her view seeing my photos went and took a photo she hen went and spoke to someone else and came back to say they were fully booked despite having rooms on Agoda for hire. I asked if they would refund as we don’t feel safe and they said we would need to go through booking.com and wouldn’t listen to we had booked through Agoda. I went back to the room to discover that the rest of my party had spotted black mould on the ceiling. We decided we weren’t staying and walked out of the room. All of this in 5mins flat. While I arranged another hotel a different member of my party went and checked us out while collecting the room deposit. The room deposit was given but our concerns were still dismissed. Do not book this place it’s not worth your life!!!!

The Vines Pub known locally as The Big House is one of Liverpool's most historic pubs,a pub I always enjoy visiting .
The pub is superb ,multi roomed ,lots of ornate dark wood features, pubby decor and furnishings,an island style serving bar ,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,the pub also offers accommodation ,all in all a great pub to chill out in.
We were here on a Thursday evening,my twin brother and I ordered guinness, these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle ,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in.
My guinness was really good,a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality pint of the black stuff.
We really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Vines Pub is easy to locate along Lime Street and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I'll start with the only positive which is location.
Onto the negatives. The sign in papers were hand written scribbles and we were given no receipt or any thing to say that we had paid the £50 cash deposit.
The room was absolutely disgusting especially the bathroom that had mold, and half used mini soaps scattered around. Even looking past the dirtiness of the rooms they could in general do with a spruce up. We hadn't minded any of the above much as we were there for a night out so would only be sleeping but what we did mind is the following morning as we was getting ready to leave a house keeper began banging on our door telling us we had to get out. Checkout we had been told(verbally and via the aforementioned scribble piece of paper we had signed) was between 10-11. It was 10.35 when they began, not knocking but banging loudly on the door. I told them we still had 25 minutes before we had to leave and that we were still packing our things and getting ready. They continued to bang on the door every 3-5 minutes screaming at us to get out. My friend who was there has severe anxiety and autism which stops him from functioning under pressure and this had made him have a severe anxiety attack. Each time they knocked I told them that we still had however many minutes left and that we were still getting ready. At approximately 10.50 after another round of banging i opened the door to find two women and one man stood right outside our door. I told them that as per the paperwork we signed the day before we had until 11am. The guy rather large "intimidating" looking fellow said that it had changed to 10am. I told them that if that was the case they needed to update the booking.com information aswell as their own paperwork. They continued to argue with me as my friends grabbed the rest of their stuff. The deposit was then handed back to myself (not the person who had actually paid the deposit/booked the room) before we left. I have attempted to contact the hotel via Facebook to speak to a manager but my message has been read and ignored. The behaviour we experienced from the staff was absolutely disgusting. Trying to use intimidation to three young adults is appalling.

!!!!!!!!PLEASE AVOID!!!!!!!!

Where can I start. This has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed.
1) The top of the mattress was soaking wet when we arrived, we realised this was caused by water that was dribbling down the wall, not only was the mattress wet and stained, the water was dribbling into live plug sockets
2) the only usable sockets in the room that worked are the ones mentioned above (with water in them)
3) there was black mold/damp above the bed, near where the water was coming down, they have attempted to wallpaper over it but it's still coming through, so they obviously know about it.
4) the bathroom was dirty, with pink mold all around the showerhead, this is a waterborne bacteria and is just disgusting.
5) the shower basin did not drain properly, we had to plunge it to stop it from overflowing. The shower in the room above is probably what caused the leak into our room. 🤮
6) there was no room in the bathroom, you had to sit sideways on the toilet to use it, and with no toilet brush you can imagine how gross that was!
7) although you expect to hear music if you are above a pub, the banging was constant from 11am until 2.30am (if not for everything else, this wouldn't have bothered us, but it was definitely a straw)
8) the coffee provided in the room was old and caked in the bottom of the jar, so obviously been there for ages, not that it mattered because there were no teaspoons to get it out anyway!
9) my bed was a three-quarters size bed, but the sheet was a single, so it really didn't fit (with the disgusting mattress underneath this was very uncomfortable, (seriously guys, get a mattress protector... Don't be vile)
10) the cupboard was falling to bits, with the edges hanging off
11) no curtains in the bathroom, the glass was frosted, but this is still an issue at night time

They asked for a £50 cash deposit when we arrived (fkn laughable)
I wish I could have complained while I was there but the only member of staff we could find was the cleaner!

I could go on. But I'm still trying to recover from the place! Photos attached show the state of the place. I honestly think the homeless guys tent outside would've been more comfortable than this pathetic excuse for a hotel.

For £50 per night you don't expect the Ritz, but we could have bought a tent for that much and been better off.

If you're doing a stag party and your standards are really low, I guess this place would be ok. But it's pretty awful otherwise.
I don't know if the price was high because there was a music festival in Liverpool city centre that weekend, but it was seriously dreadful. There weren't any other reasonably priced hotel rooms available. I knew I'd screwed up when I walked into the pub and my shoes stuck to the floor, but had no other options at that point.
It was pretty rude that the staff started whispering about me, no ideas why.

The rooms were above the pub via a door outside. We were shown to a room with single beds and absolutely stank. We said we didn't want to stay and they found us a different room, this had 3 single beds (even though I'd opted for 1 double).

The grotty pub played incredibly loud music until 2am, so sleeping wasn't an option until later than that. This was particularly annoying as check out was 10am. Seriously awful. Shame really because the architecture is beautiful.

Picture included is what they charged £50 for.
Charging £3.90 a shot.

Avoid! I’ve never been to a bar this pathetic in Liverpool. Bar staff trying to pull a fast one is all I can think!

This is to hit 200 characters. I’ve nothing else to say about this place...

Mould in showers, cigarette ash on window sills, dirty bathroom. None of plugs or telly worked, rang number to be told he knew they didn’t work and to speak to bar staff. Bar staff were drunk apart from one young girl who was clueless. Extremely rude blonde old bird. Then ceiling started leaking water and was told no other rooms so what did I want them to do ?? Do not waste your money. I have reported them to environmental heal and I have contacted Liverpool council re licensing and not having any one on the premises for licensing. Had to book and move 2 kids to another hotel at 11pm

Where do I begin? Very disappointed. A beautiful building being left to deteriorate. We had a room with four beds so they were expecting four guests. It turned out that in the end there was just the two of us. No other towels except one hand towel When we asked for towels two sets were delivered. One toilet roll for the entire two night stay. Room freezing for 90% of the visit. Leaky radiator that wet the carpet in a quarter of the room and made it impossible to walk in that area. No spoon or milk for coffee making facilities. I gave it one star for location. So sorry but I would not recommend it.
