The hotel is welcoming and clean. The rooms are basic but absolutely fine for a short stay. They need to update the hairdryers though as they are out of date. We enjoyed the breakfast - choose anything from the buffet for £10 each (if pre booked). The bar stayed open late on Saturday night (they said till 2am) but on sunday it was all shut by 10.15 which is ridiculously early for hotel guests. Our room on the 4th floorwas made up during our stay but our friends on the 8th floor were forgotten one day and had towels removed and not replaced on another day. They also had to collect their own loo paper from reception, so their experience was not as good as ours. It's a great location for the centre of Liverpool and close to the train station of Lime Street.
Excellent location for station, show and shopping. Clean hotel with friendly helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Food beautifully cooked. Rooms very clean with all essentials. Only thing missing were safes in the rooms.
Not the most attractive looking hotel on the outside , but once inside everywhere was very clean and relatively recently all freshened up. Rooms were a good size with comfortable furnishings. Only thing I can criticise really is there is no way to control temperature of room , it is all centrally set. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location is very good with all of central Liverpool within walking distance and is especially convenient for people arriving by train at Lime street station just across the road. Would definitely return to this hotel if ever in the city again.
Excellent location for the city centre right beside the main train station. Very friendly staff on reception. Room very clean and tidy. Good throughout my stay was excellent especially breakfast which offered a good selection of food. Overall a good experience
Checked in and 'Emily' (I think was her name) could not have been more helpful. Room was clean, perfect location for inner-city. Although we turned the heat off and opened a window, the room was hot and the AC was not available. It was warmer than normal for April in Liverpool and it seems everywhere we went had the heat blasting so maybe that's a thing here :). The parking at St.John's was a bit of a circus as they were installing a new ticketing system so validation was an issue but that's not on the hotel people. The parking attendance helped us out and was very friendly. Will definitely be back next time we are in Liverpool.
For our extended March school break getaway, we traveled to UK from Canada and included Liverpool on our itinerary - this hotel stood out for me and I was soon assured that I made the right choice for my family. The location is ideal for us to get back on the train, and even being in a busy area we didn't notice any significant noise through the walls so could sleep well at night. The rooms are fairly spacious and cozy, big screen TV, nice view outside, and a bonus was the higher-than-expected water pressure of the shower which was terrific for body massage after a long day of walking and museum-going. The buffet breakfast was delicious, and room service and food was satisfying too. Staff were friendly, especially on entry and leave when we needed our bags stored to visit the World Museum before taking the train out. Would highly recommend!…
Approach to the hotel is roadworks and chaotic at the moment which is not the hotels fault but the entrance and reception area are also plain. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious but very dated, shower is over the bath and the whole feel of the rooms is not what I expect from a holiday inn. Breakfast was fine but restocking was very slow and several items were empty. Given how many hotels there are in this area I would recommend looking elsewhere!
Arrived to a warm welcome from Catherine on reception very informative and pleasant, needed to be up early to catch a train so first in for breakfast 6.30 but this made no difference to Kathy who welcomed us and looked after us although she wasn’t guite set up for service. Wonderful clean room overlooking city good nights sleep in comfy bed, next mornings breakfast a little busier than previous morning but the lovely Kathy took time to ask us about our previous day trip wonderful friendly customer service breakfast was also good plenty of choice and plenty of tea and coffee overall very good hotel in a excellent position in the city would certainly stay there again well done everyone.
Excellent location, easy walk to all main areas of city centre. Car park attached only £6 per 24hrs for hotel guests. Ladies on reception really friendly and booked us in swiftly. Spacious room and spotlessly clean. Nice bar/eating area overlooking train station entrance. Breakfast was excellent, only slight moan is definitely need more staff took ages for tea/coffee to be served and one staff member was a little abrupt when we asked when it would be served. We'd definitely stay here again.
Have stayed in a number of lovely hotels in Liverpool and at most gave paid far more but have to say this hotel has been the absolute best value for money. Really modern, very clean, lovely staff, fab rooms with super comfy beds and delicious breakfast, what more could you want!👍 Perfect location as we travelled by train, hotel is directly across from Lime St Station. Don't be fooled by the basic outside of the hotel, inside you'll fine a hidden gem. Staff were pleasant on the desk but have to say that Kathy who works in the breakfast team really went out of her way to be super friendly and attentive, an absolute assest to the Hotel. Will DEFINITELY stay there again & would highly recommended, just a few mins walk from the shops and restaurants and 15 min walk tops to the breathtaking Albert Dock, just brilliant.…
