Well again, had the most fabulous time, room ,clean, nice and big, as we like it. Very cold and I did had to request an extra duvet, but I will put that down to being ill and having chemotherapy, sadly it did take two days and three requests to get it. But everything else lived up to what I love,...

This hotel is a beautiful old building in a fantastic location close to major attractions, railway station and shopping centre. Unfortunately it has been left to get a bit tired in places but by far its biggest let down was the staff. Two men on reception when we arrived were functional but not helpful or welcoming and the staff in...

We paid for a luxury room and expected, given the price we paid for 4 nights, that breakfast would also be civilised. Instead we got cafeteria style competing with 3 coach loads of visitors. Staff were trying their best but were so busy they didn't have time for 'eye contact' or common courtesies. Logistics were all around getting coach parties...

There is no Wi-Fi. Avoid like the plague if you need to work at this hotel. I have stayed in 100s of hotels across Europe. This is the first not to have WiFi. Staff were amazed at my reaction to this. Perhaps this is a standard thing in Britain, but I doubt it. Rooms are archaic but quite nice, as...

This was our fourth Christmas visit and probably our last, the room we normally had our meal in was being used so we had our meal in the Crompton Bar, previous years it has been waitress service and delicious. The bar was pure bedlam the few staff on duty did their very best to serve guests but there must have...

The hotel treats it's workers like filth and it's so bad they are currently on strike. I will save my business for a hotel that pays it's staff a proper wage and treats them like humans. Zero hour workers make for a run down, dirty hotel.

Well since my first review back in June I've stayed here overnight on another 3 occasions plus called in for afternoon tea. I would thoroughly recommend the tea. My friend and I called in on a day trip in September, we called in at 3.45pm just before they finish making them (4pm). Had lovely selection of sandwiches, bowl of crisps,...
