Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Check in was great, I spoke to Demi for most of my stay and she was lovely. I asked her to store my bag as I was early for check in but my room was ready which was fantastic! Went up to my room - everything seemed fine but I was in a rush to go to Liverpool Empire so I didn't have much time. I arrived back and got myself ready for bed - it's not the comfiest bed I've slept on. Between getting comfortable and the train station announcements . Old pipes was like someone playing a tiny drum constantly in the night and my neighbours talking it was 3am I finally managed managed to get sleep. 8am I woke up to more station announcements and I gave up on sleep at this point. Checked out and told them that my new specialist subject on mastermind could be what trains are due and the

Really surprised by the good reviews for this hotel. The rooms are very dated, beds uncomfortable. It isn’t cleaned properly there were crisps scattered under the bed and the fridge had empty food wrappers i. there. Then there is the noise from the train station, I was aware of this and specifically asked to be on the street side a month in advance and was then told there were no rooms on that side available. I had even suggested paying for an upgraded room of it meant I would be on the quieter side but was reassured I didn’t need to. The breakfast is also terrible the hot food is always cold.

My Husband and myself went to celebrate my birthday. Hotel and room was lovely and clean. Receptionists are so friendly and helpful always greeted you with a smile. Food at the Brasserie was outstanding for the price. Castaway the lady who served us was so funny. Car was secure in the car park. So nice we have pre booked for next year.

I stayed at the hotel on a business trip. I checked in and my room was really nice but the safe didn't work. I had maintenance round and they couldn't fix it, so I was offered a room change, which I accepted. My new room was superior, with extra goodies and a much bigger TV and bed. I have stayed in higher grade hotels, who have offered nothing for a much bigger problem, so this was a pleasant bonus. I have a wonderful night, in a super room, with a working safe. All the staff, reception, maintenance and housekeeping were excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very central position and comfy bedroom, overall nice room. Good points free parking and nice breakfast but the only problem was the bathroom a little bit dirty, the shower too low with pressure and the toilet flush not powerful enough. I recommend the place anyway if you want to join Liverpool for a short stay

We like the Liner for location, price and the breakfast. The staff are friendly too. The restaurant and bar are great and good value for money. The 2-4-1 cocktails are a must. We are regular guests to this hotel ,been coming for three years now . Sadly our last trip was not restful. All of our group had noisy plumbing during the night on the 6th floor. We are usually lower in the hotel so it may be isolated to the top floor, the constant tapping of the pipes was irritating even through earplugs. We were shattered after the 2nd night. We mentioned it to the front of house who said “It’s a common complaint”. When we asked if anything could be done he said no and that’s why they “ just absorb the complaints!! “. I’d be interested to know if it’s the same on all floors because if

Booked an overnight stay due to attending a show at the Empire Theatre. Arrived approx. 1pm and parked in the blue badge parking spot right outside the main door. Was allowed to check in although officially, it should be 3pm. Our booking was for room only but paid for breakfast. Our twin room on the 4th floor was lovely, looked like it had been recently renovated. Very clean and tidy, plenty of towels in the well equipped bathroom. View of the station, which we loved and enjoyed watching all the hustle and bustle of Lime Street. Booked in for the Pre Theatre dinner and found the staff very friendly in the Brasserie. Ordered the pea risotto as a starter and burger/fries for main. All very tasty and delicious - good value too at £18.50 for 2 courses. Comfortable nights sleep

One night stay for Jesus Chris Superstar next door at the Empire. We have stayed here a few times before and like the free parking, its central location and the value for money this place offers. At £75 for B&B in a superior double room this was a great price. A free Genius upgrade on Booking.Com made this a steal. We had a couple of issues, raised with hotel at the time but then followed up by email. To be fair the hotel management were straight back and apologised and offered a discounted rate. We thought this fair enough and will definitely return as we do like the place. Negatives - Half hour wait to check in due to a systems issue. Shame as normally a really speedy check in. Manager Daniel apologetic and explanation accepted. Breakfast queues not great but being fair hotel

I can't find enough words to praise this lovely hotel. We went to the Royal Court on Tuesday and as usual stayed in our favourite hotel. The staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The radiators only come on at certain times so when I complained of being cold they brought us up an oil filled heater, that did the trick. Don't be afraid to tell them if something is not quite right, they will put it right straight away. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and the usual fab breakfast the next morning. I'm looking forward to showing this wonderful hotel to my cousin and his wife when they are visiting from Sheffield in January. Can't wait

Bar closed early no apology. I arrived back from my evening meal to order a nightcap at 22:40 and was told last orders were called at 22:25 even though the website advertises the bar open until 23:00 and in the hotel it says 24 hour drinks available. I ordered from reception and had to have expensive, warm, bottled beer.
