The Premier Inn Liverpool (West Derby) hotel garners high marks for its friendly staff and attention to service, making guests feel warmly welcomed. Its location is a hit for those visiting Anfield or the city center, with the added bonus of being a cost-effective alternative to central accommodations. While the hotel's amenities and cleanliness receive positive comments, some guests have called out inconsistencies with room temperature control. Despite these occasional discomforts, the overall value and comfort of the rooms contribute to a satisfactory stay for many travelers.

As the title says, this is the best premier inn we have stayed in, staff was lovely, the room was very clean and bed was so comfy, I never normally sleep well in a new bed but this time I slept wonderful. I love that there was also free onsite parking which was one of the main reasons we booked this the hotel. Many thanks for a wonderful stay and if we ever visit Liverpool again this is where we will stay!

Stayed here for 1 night as in liverpool for the day/night and despite being about 3miles outside city centre, the price was only £38 for a twin room (verses £120+ in city) with a taxis for 4 only around £12 so was much cheaper staying here.

room clean and bed very comfy, double & single in the room with usual tea facilities.
shower wasn't that powerful but bathroom clean & tidy.
quiet hotel and didn't hear other people.

beefeater next door works very well for breakfast £10 (usual process)

Understand prices vary we booked 2mths in advance (plus liverpool were away whihc probably helped prcies).

We have had to come to Liverpool for various reasons three times in the last few months and each time we have stayed at this Premier Inn.

Let's review this hotel as a Premier Inn and not the Ritz. By Premier Inn standards we find this hotel comfortable and ideal for our use. It is about three or four miles out of the City centre, but if you don't want to drive in then there are great bus links close to the hotel. ( May I add that driving around Liverpool at the moment is a nightmare thanks to a numerous amount of roadworks going on). Another advantage is that you are on the M62 and surrounding road outlets in a matter of minutes.

The rooms have always been clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and there are tea and coffee facilities included for your use. The staff are friendly and helpful and if you require any additional towels or soaps they have always been available. (NB there are no individual toiletries in the rooms just soap for hand basin and shower)

The Beefeater next door offers a good menu of grilled lunches and dinners and a great breakfast variety. You must however book a table at reception if you wish to use this facility preferably the night before or on arrival. The staff here are also very friendly and helpful. A cheaper breakfast option is to use the Costa coffee shop next door by M & S and Aldi.

There is a good sized car park, but be aware this hotel is popular with work personnel during the week so there is normally a number of business vans taking up a number of places. Our advice is to park at the rear of the hotel if you can.

Under the current rules your room will not be attended at all during your stay. We like this as it means you can come and go as you please without housekeeping interrupting you.

Not the Ritz but a good comfortable great value stay.

Premier Inn is our go-to for UK travel. This particular Premier Inn is in a decent location, close to bus stops for the city centre, ample parking and an Aldi right next door (also a top notch pub over the road). Rooms are as you expect from Premier Inn: comfortable, warm and cozy (the shower was amazing by the way). Would happily stay here again.

A couple of small issues did occur however. If you have any difficulty walking or are disabled, DEFINITELY request a ground floor room... there's no lift. A pesky fire door when left open causes all fire alarms in all rooms to blare out.. which isn't a nice awakening on a Sunday morning. Finally, some of the breakfast items like glasses and cutlery could do with a bit more of a scrub, although the food and drink on offer is definitely good.

We stayed for three nights at the start of August whilst visiting family and seeing the sights.

The good bits:

All the staff I met were lovely, they couldn't do enough to help. I had a terrible first night sleep because of an elephant upstairs stomping around above me. The staff reassured me that the guest upstairs was leaving that day and they wouldn't put anyone in the room above so I had lovely peaceful sleep after that.

My son fell out of bed the first night so the ladies got me a spare duvet to put on the floor to break his fall which was kind of them.

The bed was comfy, the rooms were clean and the shower was good.

Great location - This was my chosen location as it's only a few minutes from the town centre by car, it has two shops nearby to get snacks / drinks and has free parking.

Not so good:

Premier inn - you need to put more sockets by beds! One on each side isn't enough!! A shaver point would be nice too!
Smell - the rooms smelt a little musty / damp. There was a definite smell on entering the room. You only notice this when you first enter it but it still wasn't great.
Although it wasn't their fault, the Beefeater was closed.

The worst bit:

The only problem (and it is a big problem) is the heat in the room. It was relentless. When I booked I knew from the advert that there was no air con so I was expecting it to be warm, but I wasn't expecting it to be so hot and stuffy. I would get out of the shower and have to dry my hair which made things even worse in the room. I ended up having to open the room door to get some of the heat out. It wouldn't have been so bad if the windows opened more than a few centimetres to get some air flow through the room.

I'm looking to rebook for later in the month and unfortunately don't think I can return because it's just too hot!

I stayed at the hotel for one night in the final week of July, and was impressed with the work they had done to make it COVID-secure. A one-way system in reception, clear screens, and they had clearly removed extra items from the rooms that might be considered as a contamination hazard. I felt perfectly safe and had a great night’s sleep.

There's no swimming pool here, but there is a Sauna and it's called Room 11 🔥

The hotel does not have air conditioning and is very hot. The room has a fan but it's pretty ineffective - our room was still over 25 degrees.

Otherwise everything is very good. Comfy beds, the best hotel shower I've ever used (long term fans will know I'm a bather) a big wall mounted TV.

Debated going 1 star because it was so hot in the room and also thought about 5 because otherwise it's excellent. Settled on three in the end.

May be better in winter.

Me and my partner stayed here ahead of the rolling stones concert at Anfield. Due to where we live we needed to spend 2 nights here. On arrival of the carpark we hit a huge pothole.. beware of that! We was happy we got free parking at the hotel during our stay. We arrived in the hotel where we clearly interrupted a very important conversation between 2 women on reception, I didn't know who to go to as neither of them looked very welcoming or called me over. No smile no chit chat. I asked for information on buses they didn't have any solid info to go off but when I asked for taxi numbers they handed me a small piece of paper with 3 local taxis on. Nevertheless we made it to our room the room was as expected, good size , great storage etc. I was a bit shocked to see just 1 pillow each, after the 1st night I discovered there were 2 spare pillows.. I think they expect everyone know everything about where to find spare pillows and how to use the shower. We left the do not disturb sign on the door, and wasn't disturbed so that's good. Every member of staff we passed during our stay didn't smile or say hi. I'm rather friendly and will always say hi in passing or hold doors open for people etc. There was no signage for a smoking area but they just expect people know its around a corner of the building. The room and mainly the bathroom could with some touch ups, the bin needed replacing it was rusty and missing the rubber off the foot peddle. The toilet had water(?) Marks splatted on the seat and back of the lid. The room overall could have done with a dusting. There was a fan in the room which was great and very much used as we couldn't turn the heating off with the device on the wall every time we lowered it it jumped back up within 5 minutes... the hotel was quiet and the bed was comfy especially the 2nd night when I had more than 1 pillow. The option to book in for breakfast at the beefeater next door was great all you can eat £9.50 was amazing, that was probably the best thing about the hotel we stayed at. Could have been worse, could have been better. We didn't let it ruin our trip. Main thing for me is customer service. Don't have a job where customer service is soo important if you can't even be bothered to smile.

Check in and out was quick and efficient. Staff were friendly and professional. Appropriate Covid-19 precautions with clear screens, freely available hand sanitising gel etc. Room was standard, bed relatively comfy. Shame the room smelt a little stale with a couple of areas of condensation/mildew on walls and ceiling. Room otherwise clean.

Too hot!!!

Breakfast, when we checked in (albeit quite late) nobody mentioned we needed to book a time for breakfast, in the morning I asked where we needed to go and the front desk staff asked if we’d booked a time (which we hadn’t) they said the first slot available was 9:15am (we needed to be gone by then) by pure luck the harvester pub accommodated our breakfast.

Overall, we found the front desk staff awkward and unapproachable.

We wouldn’t choose to stay at that venue again (the Harvester Pub where the food was, was the only saving grace) the room was red hot, but we were just tired, the fan in the room was pathetic and pointless.

I have been in touch with customer service but because it warns us on the website that there’s no air conditioning, it doesn’t fall into their guarantee.

Bus , 12,13 or 15 from just around the corner (left at traffic lights) . Ask at reception they are very helpful. You get off coming back at the far side of the traffic lights just outside the pub.
