Premier Inn Hotel Liverpool (Roby) is a great looking building with architecture dating back to 1840. We're set in our own grounds with a large garden for you to relax in, and there are excellent transport links into the centre of Liverpool, perfect for business or pleasure. City of culture, home to two iconic football clubs, and the place where British pop music began. There's so much that's unique about Liverpool. If you're here in September, don't miss the Liverpool International Music Festival. When the music's over, come back to the hotel for some great food at our Table Table restaurant and a lovely comfy bed.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Lovely hotel that had friendly receptionist meet us as we came through the front doors. Checked in with ease. Room was spotless. When requested at the reception we were given both an iron and ironing board. The ease to grab more condiments for the room was greatly appreciated

Hotel's Favourite
I visited last July and again at the beginning of March. It's the same as before with the same friendly staff. The bar is great and the food excellent value. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm visiting the Liverpool area. Such a great location if you're driving too as it's half a mile off the M62. The train station is almost opposite although both times I've visited Northern have been on strike!

A typically good, clean, comfortable Premier Inn - our stay was made particularly excellent by the night receptionist Colin at Liverpool Roby. Thank you Colin for your hospitality, generosity and honesty when two bus loads of us came in late at night after performing a show in Liverpool. You genuinely seemed pleased to see us, you made check in for 15 rooms quick and easy, fulfilled all requests immediately and found and looked after my phone overnight when I left it in the lobby.
Thank you Colin!

This hotel has a location that is great for Liverpool and surrounding area - just off the motorway but still in a quiet spot - but the disabled facilities are poor. Despite contacting the hotel ahead of our visits - it’s a bit of a lottery as to if you will be allocated a room to meet your needs. All ground floor rooms (which include all 3 of the disabled rooms) have …..baths! No showers! The baths are low but require you to be able to get in and out using grab bars. Beds in disabled room is very low as is the toilet. My disability needs actually require raised seats/beds/toilet and walk in shower as I find standing from sitting very painful and difficult - this hotel cannot meet my needs unless I take a “normal” room on the upper floors - which is accessed by a small lift, (it’s been out of service on previous visits and not to be used in a fire) so not great for my getting out in the event of a fire (I have raised this issue directly with Premier Inn after a previous visit when the only room offered was on 2nd floor) on this visit we were allocated a ground floor “normal” room with a bath I can’t use! and the fire alarm did sound at 05.24 on one morning of our stay so at least we could evacuate safely.
I await further correspondence from the guest services as they sent a generic reply which did not address my concerns. So if you want a great location, a great welcome and great local staff then this is fab - if you have a disability- then look elsewhere as the company really don’t want to engage to improve!

We stay at lots of Premier Inn hotels as we know what to expect and have always enjoyed our stays…up until now.
We’ve also stayed in lots of their hotels in and around Liverpool when visiting family and thought we would give this one a try.
Sadly it was not a good nights stay.
As we settled down to sleep we heard loud creaking coming from the floor above caused by the person above walking around in their room. Not their fault of course but every time they moved the floor creaked loudly. This proved really annoying and unfortunately they must have been very restless guests because throughout the night they were up and about and every time the floor creaked it would wake you up…like a creaking alarm clock!!
In the morning we mentioned it to the Reception team who apologised and said they were aware of the issue but any claims for refunds as part of the Good Nights Sleep Guarantee were now handled centrally and the most they could offer us was complimentary breakfasts. However, they gave me a number to ring to make a claim as part of the guarantee. I declined the offer of free breakfasts at the time, what a mistake this would prove to be!!
Long story short…I tried to make a claim but was advised as I didn’t report it during the night (I wasn’t getting out of bed & going down to reception in the middle of the night) I was outside of their T&C’s!! And let’s be honest what could the Reception team have done?? Told the guest not to move?? It wasn’t the guests fault the floor creaked so badly!!
I argued but got no where, we didn’t have a good nights sleep due to faults with the buildings poor construction. Also the T&C’s actually say you have 7 days in which to make a claim, so reporting it on the night should not be necessary.
In reality you might think we are nit picking but this was a seriously noisy floor which we ignored initially but during the night it proved to be so annoying!!! So we did not get a good nights sleep!!
So sadly Good Night Sleep Guarantee not honoured in our opinion!
Whilst writing we also found the bar area and restaurant to be very tired looking, walls, furniture and flooring all overdue a refurb. Not a good feel. The staff on Reception and in the bar & restaurant were all very nice and helpful and cannot fault them. Premier Inn please sort your bedroom flooring out and please arrange for a refurb of the bar & restaurant. The fact that your Good Night Sleep Guarantee proved worthless is disappointing…
But sorry Premier Inn you’ve let us down this time and we won’t be staying here again.

Where do I even start from the moment we walked in the door reception staff were rude and unprofessional.
Our room was ok, bed was comfy. However, we asked for our room to be turned down by the maid while we stayed this was never done during the 3 nights. There was no hand soap or shower gel in the bathroom both bottles were empty. We went to reception to ask If they could be replenished as well as toilet roll ,4 hours later and a trip to find a maid in the corridor and this was finally restocked.
The food in the hotel was poor we had 5 rooms booked with 10 adults and 4 children not one person in our party could eat the breakfast avoid if you stay in the hotel plenty of cafes near by with cheaper breakfasts and better quality.
I would look past it if we had paid cheap prices to stay in the hotel but we paid over £300 per room for our stay. Many of our party have previously used this hotel but never again.

A nice clean hotel and restaurant, very reasonably priced in an ideal location and lovely area of Liverpool. We arrived from visiting Anfield and the Royal Albert Docks (about a 30 min drive) and headed to Knowsley Safari park the day after which is only a 10 min drive away. All staff in both the hotel and restaurant were friendly and welcoming from the moment we checked in. We have a member of our family with a nut allergy and the restaurant staff did everything they could to prevent any cross contamination and provided us with a full allergy sheet. Special thanks to Bev for making us all welcome at our evening meal and breakfast. All our meals were tasty and reasonably priced with a good choice of adult and children's meals on the menu. Food was served timely and well cooked. We had the choice to sit in or outdoors, indoors being a clean well presented dining area and outdoors set in lovely gardens.

We stayed for a week in Feb visiting the Shakespeare North Theatre - we had a large comfortable room , nothing was too much trouble extra chair in the room new towels more tea etc . We came in late every night and the bar staff were so friendly and welcoming - making sure that we were able to have last orders and giving us extra time to finish without hurrying us out- for which we were very grateful ! Excellent breakfast and extra fast service at dinner as we needed to get back to the theatre on time. Particular mention for Frankie and Ellie for their friendliness , kindness and excellent Scouse humour!

A very disappointing stay. Hotel and rooms in need of TLC, floors creaky and furnishings tired. Room was at back of hotel and very cold. No heating in the room. When asked for maintenance to have a look at controls was told they didn't come until a Thursday (day I left!) meaning a 3 night 4 day stay with no heat. I asked for heaters and the one supplied barely pumped out any heat. No phones in room so any complaints had to be done at reception which meant as a solo traveller I had to walk around the hotel at night. Did not feel safe especially when there was never anyone on reception duty and front door was open when I went down there at different hours of the day. Hotel generally cold - even staff wore coats at all times. No refreshments in room - supplies at the front which we all gone by time I got back in evening.

As a rule Premier Inn are good value and you are usually guaranteed a good nights sleep. Unfortunately we were constantly woken up by the people above us walking around because the floorboards creaked and it sounded like the ceiling might cave in. Also the adjacent room arrived back very noisily at 3am on our first night! We requested a room service on our 2nd day to empty bins , provide fresh towels etc but this didn’t happen. The bathroom was tiny and there was nowhere to dry the towels you are requested not to change! Not good value for money.

Can somebody give me an idea on transport links to Anfield (train/taxi/bus) also is there anything in the local area as far as bars / curry houses go. Walk or taxi distance)
Hi
Please give the team a call on +44 (0) 151 559 1027 & they'll be happy to advise any events in and around the hotel.
Darren
I regret I have no idea.
Perhaps the best solution would be to telephone the hotel reception.
Hi there
We would recommend to call our reception team on 0333 321 1108 and they'll be happy to advise information about the local area.
