Paid for a family deal which is available directly on the Accor website - got two rooms for two nights in half term for £230 so was happy with that. Obviously the rooms are a little basic - it's an ibis - and a bit tired, but if you're happy with a clean and comfortable bed (and we found the beds comfy despite other reviews) to lay your head, it'll suit. if you don't like the pillows, there's extras at the top of the wadrobe/cupboard and they are really full and soft. Rooms got a bit warm at night despite it being winter and there was no air con - just an "air cooler" that pushed even warmer air around! windows opened enough to let a breeze in though. Communal areas were nice - phone chargers and magazines around and a pool table - and the bar mostly had a nice atmosphere (save for when the pool table was taken over by some bored youths with a late check out and they threw chips on the floor and wrecked the area, but that's no fault of the hotel and i can't blame the staff too much for trying to ignore them rather than dealing with them or asking them to leave as they were quite intimidating) - we sat and had a drink in the bar and played cards with the kids and chatted to others quite happily on the second night. absolutely ideal location - right by Albert Dock so good for a wander to the restaurants there, really close to Liverpool One and the museums too. Reasonable parking (£10 a night for residents) and good breakfast for £12 an adult (added bonus that kids eat breakfast for free). Mostly friendly staff (save for check in when she barely broke a smile or spoke to us, even when we asked questions) and a hard working housekeeping team. corridors can be quite noisy and echoey and we were woken up one night by some guests arriving back late at night - even though they weren't talking in the corridor for that long and weren't shouting, the echo made it loud. The major flaw was that in a city with 2 big premier league teams, they have chosen to fly LFC flags on both of their flagpoles! Given that we one of the things we came to Liverpool to do was the Goodison tour with our Evertonian sons, this led to a loud boo from each of them a soon as we arrived! one blue and one red flag would be fairer and more welcoming! Fix the flags and we'll be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights, in a great location right opposite the docks, room was warm but did find the bed quite hard, tea and coffee in the room and the shower was lovely, pool table and bar in the hotel and they serve breakfast if you want it £12 each, the room was clean and fresh and staff were helpful, would recommend the Ibis

On the positive side, the location of this hotel could not be better. Right opposite the Albert Dock. Also, there's convenient and secure parking. The breakfast was fine. Not amazing, but a good standard with continental and cooked options and especially good fresh croissants. Staff were efficient, pleasant and professional. The decor in the lobby was a tad strange, with a pool table almost blocking the entrance and a random wood burning stove. The problems started once we went upstairs. The oddly flimsy building felt as though we were rocking slightly, like in a ship. Weird and slightly scary. Our room was tiny. We could barely squeeze round the bed, which had an odd dip in it. The tea facilities were extremely cheap and budget. The tea bag ripped immediately. Nasty pebbledash wall paper. Tiny 'prison cell' window. Nice bathroom and shower were the only mitigating factors. All in all, it made a Travelodge seem luxurious but cost far more. I wouldn't stay there again.

There were lots of good things about this hotel: Great location, super clean, staff were really friendly and helpful, rooms were serviced daily and toiletries/tea/coffee supplied, good value for money, corridors very quiet at night. But I probably wouldn't stay here again - The only real downside was that the bed was really hard (not comfortable at all - it was really really bad and we stayed for 4 nights) and the bathroom was freezing. Bedrooms were very small (not an issue personally but may affect others), no lock on bathroom door, no hand towels. Booked this as a cheap option but personally wouldn't stay here again purely because of the bed. Would have considered staying again for a cheap option if the bed had been comfortable.

Stayed here 3 nights for a catch up with friends. It was cold, wet and windy outside but hotel was warm and inviting with fabulous staff. The location is perfect for exploring Liverpool. The tour buses directly opposite on the dockside. Plus museums and eating places on the dock. We didn’t really need to venture far but it is really easy to walk to other areas, Matthew street, China town, cathedrals etc. We found the rooms perfect. Not especially small as has been indicated. Contained everything you would need. Shower brilliant and especially loved the complimentary “rock your body” toiletries. The bed suited me (very subjective). Quiet hotel. Food good value although limited menu but handy if you don’t want to go out. We found all staff pleasant and ready to help. Daily housekeeping too. All in all had a good 3 days staying here (even though we live north of Liverpool we saw things we have never seen before). Would recommend especially if the price is right.

For what I paid it was probably fair enough - but I've stayed in much nicer Ibis hotels. No welcome from girl at reception, no effort to explain meals or bar service. Room maintenance wasn't great - faulty light, bathroom door almost impossible to close and window restrain broken. And a building site just across the street - in fairness the noise wasn't bad at all though. I didn't eat or drink - discovered breakfast was buffet - just over £10(?) - so headed up the road to Spoons - the Lime Kiln. Eggs Benedict and coffee for c.£6.50. A big plus for me was the location - it's very close to the bus station which in turn links (for £2!!) to the airport..You're also close to the Albert Dock with all its attractions. Tesco express close by too. Room was clean, bed was comfy, shower was ok but soundproofing was poor. The control on the wall looks like an Aircon system. Sadly it isn't. A notice on the door explains it will regulate temperature to keep it at 20c if you switch it on. So if you actually want it cooler and dial up 16c as I did - it actually heats the room to 20c. So read the notice!!!

The location is great , across the road from the Albert dock, if you are lucky enough to get a room on the front of the hotel it’s lovely view of the river, the view at the back not so good The rooms are a little tired but have everything you need Parking was charged at reception £10 per night which is cheaper than we saw in any of the car parks nearby We didn’t use the bar but it did look modern and clean The bed was most uncomfortable, described as ‘sweet bed by ibis’ Google it, it’s 2 layers of rock hard old fashioned divan style base with a mattress topper around 3-4 inches thick Wouldn’t stay again unless they get different beds

Visites here for a Christmas half term treat. This was our second visit here and once again did not disappoint! The staff are friendly and it has a great atmosphere, nice breakfast but please add mushrooms to the menu lol. The room was clean and had a great view of the wheel. I am sure we will be back again.

Although the rooms are small and storage is limited especially if you were staying a few days, it was very good value, exceptionally clean and location across from Albert Dock . Bar area ok, ( also used as breakfast area) but not somewhere you’d stay for some time. Needs some comfy chairs really .

Let down So the location is amazing right by the docks. The hotel is somwere to stay , quite small reception. We did stay new years eve . £200 with breakfast. Unfortunately the room was mediocre , the bed was to hard, the room was cold with no heating control. The bathroom was ok , shower , shame no bath . Standard means Standard. The bed was two beds put together with a topper on..... Had a sheet and not a quilt cover. The breakfast was not worth paying the extra when there are so many places to eat near by. Unfortunately won't be staying again . The staff in the morning were really nice and polite.
