Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were pleasant unfortunately the bed in our room was very uncomfortable the mattresses (2 singles pushed together) were old, grubby & dipped in the middle, the lighting style matches the vibe of the hotel which I understand but like in other reviews it was awful, exposed bulbs which constantly blinded you & they were so dim, not practical. Stripped the bed before we left to find stains on the duvet and the pillows. £5 charge if you open the fridge door, I thought they stopped that years ago. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We have stayed in this hotel before and we have always had a great time. Great staff and great quirky rooms but unfortunately this time our stay had the shine knocked from it. Check in on this particular Sunday evening was very slow as we had to wait quite some time for someone to appear but no matter, we got there in the end, did our £20 pre authorisation on my bank card and our room was fabulous as always. The problem started when we arrived home and could see we had been charged £26.40 for something we had no clue about. I have contacted the hotel and they have advised that this is payment for items purchased from the minibar. We definitely did not make any purchases, in fact we didn’t even open the fridge at all! I have contacted the hotel again to dispute this and I am awaiting their response. This may sound petty to some, it’s only £24.60 but it is the principle. I take great offence to being charged for a product I have not had the pleasure of receiving and this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth as I really love this hotel and enjoy staying here. I’m pretty sure I won’t get my refund for this amount but I will keep trying. Apart from this, I have to say that the hotel is fabulous to stay in, spotlessly clean and located in a wonderful area but take my advice, check your bill and the contents of the mini bar while you are there.

5 mins walk from the city centre … really cool place Gail at reception was so lovely. Such a cool vibe from the minute we walked in the door. Loved the look of the place immediately. Room wasn’t ready when we arrived as we were too early. Headed in to the bar … again, really cool vibe. Barman Dave really sound. Played some pool and a couple of lovely beers. Got to the room and it was so cool. So modern and clean… everything u need is in there. love this place and will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend

Best roast in the city! Staff couldn’t do enough, they were so attentive & personable. The gravy on the roast was the best I’ve ever tasted. Already enquired about coming on Mother’s Day, my mum would love it! Will be back as soon as I can! Highly recommended.

Sunday lunch Wow! Stumbled across the hotel on Tik Tok, looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch, and accidentally found the best one I’ve ever had. It’s a two meat sharing board, with all the trimmings. Outstanding! Sells out each week and I can see why. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Defo coming back.

With a Christmas nightmare looming, and panic regarding accommodation at one of the busiest times of year, the Baltic hotel saved the day. Due to no fault of my own, I found myself stranded with nowhere to go in a city away from home. Thankfully, the guys at the Baltic were able to assist. The hospitality shown during my stay here was second to none. The staff could not have done more for me. Whether it was the ladies on reception, or even the gentleman who was looking after the guests in the restaurant and pub attached to the hotel. The whole team were fantastic and are a credit to this wonderful hotel. With my room, I was offered inclusive breakfast the morning after which certainly didn’t disappoint. With plenty of options to chose from to cater to everybody, I opted for the small version of the small English breakfast. This was delicious, and could tell it was all made fresh. Not your usual buffet style hotel breakfast. The hotel was quirky in decoration and clean in presentation. An absolute must if you’re looking for a hotel close to the city centre. Thank you once again to all of the staff, I will be returning!!

Had a lovely few nights stay in this wonderfully decorated and pleasant hotel. Such a great surprise. Lovely service from start to finish. Great friendly service from the staff and the breakfast was superb. Compliments to the chef. It even has its own hotel bar/pub with a great selection of beers and more. Perfect few nights away.

Just returned from a weekend stay at the quirky Baltic Hotel in Liverpool. We walked in and were met by friendly reception staff, we were a bit early but it wasn’t a problem, our room was ready. There were 4 of us girls staying in 2 rooms. We booked 2 Snug rooms which were perfect for 2 nights. Bathroom amenities were lovely including fluffy towels. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the beds are soooo comfy. Honestly, the rooms were great. Sockets for hairdryer by the mirrors and able to do our makeup, love the style of the rooms. The hotel itself has got a great vibe - love the styling of it including the black corridors and pink decor. We had a drink in the pub too. Again the staff were friendly and helpful, advising us on the best parts of the city to visit. Breakfast on both days was delicious. This really is a cool hotel in a great location. Can’t wait to return.
