From the moment we arrived all the staff were charming, helpful and efficient. We could find no faults to share which is rare these days. The hotel is traditional in style and therefore comfortable if somewhat dated in the room BUT the beds were comfortable, the room temperature adjustable, lighting good, bathroom large, clean and user friendly. We were in...

Hi. I was looking for,a smaller friendly non chain hotel as I now have to stay regularly in Liverpool for work. I booked a stay here, but came down with flu the day before. On my booking confirmation which comes through a travel company the cancellation said - day before. Unfortunately the policy is 12noon on the day before. I...

The hotel is very clean and the room was very pleasant, my naighbours however were extremely noisy and the walls appear very thin. I reported this arguing mum and daughter 3 times and although they spoke to them this continued until they left for there night out. When I reported it the 3rd time I did request a room change...

Have stayed here a couple of times and as always it's a pleasant stay. Met by a lovely smiling receptionist after a long horrible drive. Swift check in. Told to put our stuff behind desk and head through for dinner rather than climb 2 sets of stairs dump stuff and come back down. Lovely reasonably price pint of lager and...

We were delighted with this hotel. Pleasant room with view of the River Mersey. Friendly staff. Delicious food. We had a wonderful dinner and the full English breakfast was freshly cooked and served at the table. The only problem for some people would be the absence of a lift. It is also very quiet and so we had a good...

Stayed one night (B&B only),booked two rooms. Bedrooms and bathrooms, clean and spacious. Our room had a very pleasant outlook over the river. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was served to the table (preferable to a buffet) by very friendly and efficient staff. We chose the 'Full English' option. Sufficient to keep you going until afternoon...

This is the third time myself & the missus have visited this hotel. Despite it being so close to Christmas, the hotel was by no means full and we had the Lodge room this time. Advantages; very quiet, feeling of seclusion, no stairs. Disadvantages; having to go outside to get to the main hotel, not so good if it's raining....

This family run hotel is a million miles away from the mega hotel chains of today. It is warm, friendly, value for money with the personal touch. Food is good without being exceptional, the bar is well stocked, but not with everybody's 'cup of tea'. Free parking outside the hotel. The Royal is far from luxurious, but ticks all the...

Room was fine. Food in restaurant was above expectation. You have to wait a bit for it to come. But this is good, it shows it is freshly cooked. Breakfast is excellent. Good real ale available for a fair price in the bar.
