Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is in a great position in the Albert Dock, ideal for our stay. The staff are great and the hotel is very clean. We liked the decor at the hotel especially in the restaurant and at night it's very quiet, despite being where it is.I would recommend it.

Thank you so much Mo for finding my hair straighteners after leaving them behind by mistake. We left on Saturday and I had them back by Wednesday - very efficient service and very much appreciated. The trip was a short break to the city, great location for the docks and even managed a trip on the River Mersey. Hotel was very busy to check in at 3 pm but apart from that a very comfortable stay.

Visiting my Auntie in hospital. Have stayed here 4 years ago and loved it but sadly due to the obvious lack of staff was a different experience. Shout out to Anthony who seemed to run the bar , restaurant and reception all himself with odd staff popping in to help for a while. First night disturbed sleep due to doors banging, not sure if it was because we were opposite a staff room or because footy was on so more people but got used to it over our 4 night stay . Thought there was a spider on sink pedestal only to find it was a part of false eyelashes!! Fab cocktails especially during Happy hour 5/7 although because the bar didn't open til 5.30, lost half hour!! Loved the views onto the dock, great location and the architecture .Parking a pain as u got a reduction from £18 to £12 per 24 hrs if stayed at inn,we left car there but had to pay daily, exit car park and repark!! A 4 day pass would of been alot better! Walked or got taxis so as not to mess up parking!! Restaurant food good, area chilly some nights.

Excellent location. Really comfortable room, staff friendly and helpful. Noisy air con but being winter we just switched it off. Breakfast plentiful. Ideally located for the Beatles story & the bus tours. Parking about ten min walk away, ok if you are able bodied . Was £24 for two nights using the hotel discount. There is a small car park directly outside but is about £3 an hour so ok to park there briefly to drop/collect bags etc and pay the £3 then move it to the long stay on Kings Dock. Beds really comfy and room & other areas very clean and place smelled lovely. Nice character to the rooms and curriers with original brick, iron doors and pulleys etc. defo worth a visit and good value. Ten min walk into town /main shopping area and food outlets like TGI’s etc

I have stayed in this hotel before and again I was not disappointed. The position over the Albert dock is just lovely. The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable. Prices are reasonable. I recommend booking the breakfast as this is delicious.

Mouldy walls due to lack of ventilation and heating. Very disappointed with PI have stayed in much better. Even the toilet door handle was hanging off. Expected better for the price. The staff were very professional so would not say anything negative about them.

We had a family room very different from the usual, it didn’t have any plug sockets near the bed to charge your phones. Bathroom had black mould around the bath, sink plug hole jammed and couldn’t let the water out. Loved the curved brick work in the room as it’s a grade 1 listed building. Checking in took ages as there weren’t enough reception staff, they were lovely and friendly but even for a simple thing you had to queue for 15-20 minutes. Overall the room was looking tired and in need of a spruce up.
