We are Liverpool's smallest boutique hotel with four spacious and airy guest-rooms in a historic 19th century town house valued by guests for our informed but relaxed style of hospitality, excellent breakfasts & high standards of cleanliness. The large dining room leaves plenty of space between tables- alternatively guests may opt to take breakfast in their room. We are located in the leafy neighbourhood of Princes and Sefton Parks. It is midway between fashionable Lark Lane and the Baltic Triangle eat-and-drink hotspot. The city centre’s attractions are minutes away by foot, bicycle, taxis or public transport. There is free wifi & on-street parking. Square Tree House welcomes food and art-lovers. Our celebrated ‘world breakfasts’ are served in a flamingo-coloured Breakfast Room featuring a plaster cornice and marble fireplace. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Square Tree House. Our large room at the top of the house was very comfortable. The bathroom was not en-suite but was right next door, and robes were provided to nip between the 2 rooms. John was a fantastic host, with local recommendations and great stories. The dining room is gorgeous, with a lofty ceiling, period features and tastefully decorated with mid century furniture. Breakfast was a decent mix of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, sourdough toast and croissants with decent coffee. The location is great; a short walk to bustling Lark Lane full of bars and restaurants, and a speedy bus ride to the city centre. There’s free parking right outside. Liverpool was great with so much to see and do; we will be back and will definitely return to square tree house- so much nicer than a bland chain hotel and a complete bargain too.…

John was so welcoming, our room was lovely very big, clean and welcoming We stayed for one night and John recommended places for us to eat. The bed was comfortable with warm duvet and plenty of pillows We felt safe and secure Breakfast was lovely toast, croissants, cereals smoked salmon and eggs

Perhaps biased because run by friends! Just love this place warm and comfortable. Quiet, lovely breakfast and friendly helpful hosts. Thoroughly recommend. Great shower you can control heat on not case in all hotels.

I cannot recommend this lively B&B highly enough! We spent two nights on a university re-union trip that was made all the more delightful by the welcome & personal attention we received from John and his wife. The room was large and comfy and the en suite bathroom a real pleasure to use - everything was decorated and furnished in keeping with the relaxed, funky atmosphere. We walked everywhere fuelled by a generous and delicious breakfast. Thank you so much. Great value, great company, great city.

very friendly and homely place to stay. The host was courteous, polite and reliable and the room was clean. Lovely view of the cathedral from the bathroom-albeit in the distance. Breakfast is healthy and filling. Within walking distance from the University/City centre. He allowed me to park in his back garden rather than the road which I appreciated. I would stay here again.

Perfect place from which to explore Liverpool. Tempting to repeat other reviews which have described the place so well ("Oasis"!) Our host was friendly and knowledgeable with helpful tips and advice as required. The room was large and comfortable with everything we needed, no superfluous flim flam and, being on the top floor, a view of the famous cathedrals. Breakfast was exceptional. We'd love to stay again some time.

A pleasant stay next to Princes Park in Liverpool. The host was extremely friendly and gave us lots of helpful tips and advice. The room was large and had all of the basics needed. We had a great stay and a nice buffet style breakfast with coffee.

Fantastic place. Great, healthy food serving by owner, very nice and kind people, big rooms. The accommodation is near beautiful park which is also a big plus. I highly recommend that hotel for a short and long visits in Liverpool.

We spent a couple of busy days in Liverpool, visiting family and enjoying the museums and galleries after all the months of lockdown. It was a joy to return in the evening to the calm and welcome of Square Tree House, not far from the hustle and bustle of the city – and at the same time – a million miles away. It’s a lovely period building and the rooms are carefully furnished in style, with a modern twist and uncluttered elegance. The high corniced ceilings and tall windows give a real sense of space and light. John gave us a warm welcome and fabulous breakfast of poached duck egg/salmon, coping amazingly with some dietary needs with no notice – apologies. We highly recommend this little oasis.

Rooms bog standard. Shocking breakfast and seems to be on a ration. Nothing hot. Strange mix of 'buffet' from chinese vegetables to 1 cold hard boiled egg to half a slice of ham. Not to be visited again.
