we stayed here for one night with friends, the hotel is lovely and the room is clean. We stayed in Apartment 12 on the 3rd floor. if you are going in the height of summer then please be prepared that there is no windows that open, now there are fans that are provided in the room but they just circulate hot air as it is very warm In the room. we did ask for someone to come up and look at the air con but to this day we are still waiting. The beds are very comfy and the bathroom is lovely and big. Check in was quick and easy, there is a 50per person deposit that you do have to pay on check in, and then goes back into you bank after 5 working days as long as there is no damage, now we waited 5 days for the refund to go back into our back, but instead of the money going back into our bank, the hotel decide to charge us again for the deposit , at the end of the day we are all human and all make mistakes, when I rang up about this I got Liv on the reception desk, who was the most unhelpful person I have ever met, she couldn't of cared less about this money leaving my bank, her response was "I don't know what you want me to do as I am only covering" so as you can imagine I was not very happy with this, I rang back later on in the afternoon and spoke with a very nice man called Harry who could not do enough for me and got the matter sorted within a matter of hours, we was lovely and very helpful, if only liv would of done that then it would be sorted sooner.

The location of the hotel is very central to Liverpool and everything is a stones throw away, you are right on Matthew Street and right next to Liverpool one

All in all I would highly recommend staying here

Once again thanks so much to Harry for all your help you are a really credit to the company and deserve some recognition

We stayed at boutique 56 in Feb 2024 and returned again for a random trip for New Year’s Eve. We booked really last minute and were so shocked at how reasonable the price was.
This place did not disappoint it’s in brilliant location if you want to be in the city centre and walk to most things. We had booked an event at Zenn which was literally on the next road so perfect.
The staff are all friendly and polite and really helpful. The rooms are really spacious clean and suit the purpose we love the big bath in room which we had both times.
Rooms come with fresh towels, hair dryer, tea making facilities and good size sofa bed.
We would not stay anywhere else in Liverpool now we think the people and the place are great!
Only downside is no parking but can live with that as was parking on Victoria street round the corner for £13 a day.
Thanks so much Kate and team :)
Rebecca and Cidnie see you soon x

I have stayed a number of times and have been well looked after by the staff each time. Nothing is too much trouble. The company has accommodation to suit everyone's needs whether that be a group getaway or couples retreat. If there's some thing you want to organise for during your stay of they don't already offer it they will price it up for you. We ordered a package on arrival consisting of prosecco balloons cupcakes and my friend loved it. Will be booking again once things get back to normal!

Check-in was very nicely done by staff however there is a deposit payable which we read about after booking online.
We stayed on a Sunday night which turned out to be livelier than expected until early hours, so would not recommend for families with children or if you need a good night's sleep.
Also, wouldn't recommend if you're not into dark décor as lighting was very, very poor with heavy drapes, black furniture and walls. The shower was in middle of the bathroom so couldn't use it until end of the day as it would've been wet to use the toilet although the jacuzzi/tub was in the bedroom itself (Room 1) which worked out better. The sink as fancy as it looked wasn't practical due to it being a flat surface so no space to keep toothbrushes etc.
From the other reviews, seems we were very lucky as there was no noise from other guests.

Very bad customer service ,we went in August 2024 and stayed for one night and paid a deposit of £300 (£50 per person) and they still have not refunded even though they said at most would take up to 30 working days. We have rang and emailed countless number of time and keep getting messages that they will get back to us but never have . Very bad look on the hotel.

DO NOT use this company, bought a gift voucher for 2 course meal, room and full English breakfast. When rang to book was told the company had gone into administration and the only hotel left for vouchers was the Arthouse. Constant phone calls went unanswered, when finally got through we were told they don't have a restaurant anymore so can't offer 2 course meal and only continental breakfast. They offered to us Prosecco and other freebies in the room. No confirmation email sent, more calls trying to get through and promises to look into it and call back. Never happened. After weeks of being messed around finally got through and received a email confirming booking.
Stayed last night, No rose PETALS, prosecco or other freebies promised in the room on arrival, had to chase up the procecco which took 1 1/2 hours to arrive. When booking in was told they own the Alma de Cuba and the can book a table for us, if that is true why wasn't the meal transfered there!
No continental breakfast either this morning and no answer on phone at reception when we phoned twice and when we asked at reception, the kitchen staff had been and gone so nothing!!!
Very disappointing this weekend.
Been promised a phone call in the week after completing a review form, I won't hold my breathe.
The room was also looking shabby and windows didn't close properly so very noisy.
The only good point I can think of, is the location to shopping, bars and nightlife but be prepared for zero sleep due to the noise.

Room is different to pictures on website as they say the mosaic bath is bright yellow inside and not very clean. Fruit flies all over the place shower heads hanging off and blocked sinks such a lovely room very poorly maintained. Not even any cups In the room or plastics for our drinks was then told to go and get some plastic cups from reception even tho we told them we were all already in the pool. Asked for fly spray twice which we didn’t get so the kitchen/bar couldn’t be used and there was to many flies

Stayed in the Iconic Apartments for the weekend for a hen do. You have to check in at a different hotel (The Arthouse) and pay a security deposit, we had to pay £500. The lady on reception was a bit rude. When we got to the apartments it wasn’t actually clear where the “Iconic” ones were as on the door it says Masonic and when you go in and up the stairs you can only see the Masonic and New York apartments, you have to keep walking round to find the Iconic apartments. The room I stayed in had no plug sockets and the shower went from freezing one minute to scolding the next. There’s also a very loud fan that sounds like a plane that comes on every 10/15 mins, not good when you’re trying to sleep. One of the rooms smelt of drains when we first arrived we had to air the room out as the smell wasn’t pleasant. The kitchen/dining/living area was clean and spacious, we had everything we needed. We were provided with clean towels and the cleaners did come in (not sure what they actually did though). The place is a bit battered, could do with a few touch ups here and there! The bottomless brunch that was included in our package was great. It was at the Shankly Hotel. We had afternoon tea and LOTS of prosecco. All in one it wasn’t a terrible stay but for how much we paid it 100% could of been better.

So disappointed with our stay here, staff were very unhelpful and rude.
Our door to the hotel room wouldn’t lock, we notified staff and their response was ‘why have you got cash we can nick in there’
They told us they would change the lock and when we came back from our evening out the lock was hanging off the door. This was in no way safe at all, we all felt very vulnerable.
Loud music was played all night and the room was in no way clean.
Very very disappointed and definitely do not recommend.

We originally booked in March 20 which was cancelled due to lockdown, rebooked for September cancelled again then rebooked for March 21. At the time we were advised that it was ok to have more than six stay (all from different households)despite this being against lockdown rules as we form a ‘bubble’ when we enter the hotel, completely against government advice. Fortunately hotel stays were cancelled again so we were advised we could rebook. I have been trying to rebook for 23 weeks! Sent first email on 26/02/21 and have sent numerous emails in between and left numerous messages all ignored. Finally someone got back to me today, no apology for delay just informing me that rates have gone up and we now need to pay an additional £180 an increase of 50% on original booking. I have asked for any date they could accommodate us for original price and told no. They are also refusing a refund despite their obligations under consumer law. The person on email is also refusing to provide contact details of anyone in the organisation that I can complain to. They are clearly demonstrating that they do not cate about customer service. There are some amazing hotels in Liverpool and I strongly advise everyone to book somewhere different to here!

I've been told the same either lose the money or pay an additional 50% for the same room. Consumer law says that they have to provide a refund if they cannot provide the service as in this case. Given the number of people on here saying this I really think we should join together to challenge this.
