Had to attend a Seminar weekend at Liverpool Hope University and needed to find a hotel nearby. Only picked Childwall Abbey Hotel as it had the same postcode as the hotel, so didn't research anything else about it. I didn't realise it was a pub also so was bit surprised when I arrived in the evening from Exeter to find...

Childwall Abbey Hotel is an historic building in a pleasant part of the city. There is free parking and the city centre is about 20 minutes drive away. The room, although on the small side, was clean and comfortable. No noise, despite the busy bar and restaurant area. Good breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Would stay here again if visiting...

My family and myself went to the Childwall Abby last night, we were having a meal in memory of a friend that had passed away and it would of been her birthday.. I have not been to there for over 20 years and was shocked at how run down this pub is now .Paint all chipped , carpet was filthy...

Have had one of the best most accommodating stays at a hotel in a long time. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to help us. The food was fantastic the hotel was busy, yet nothing could be heard from our room, clean warm and lovely, little touches such as water and biscuits, shower gels etc... were appreciated....

popped in for a meal with a friend. Have been to this pub a few times and always found it OK. But this time I waited about 15 minutes to be served with food and drinks. There was only one girl taking orders however the manager and lad at the carvery were nearby and I was told that he could...

Before staying in this hotel I read the reviews and was expecting to be greeted by Basil Fawley, Sybill and Manuel! Instead, everything about this hotel was good. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was perfectly adequate and comfortable (ok, could do with a bit of decorating but apart from that was fine), the beer was good and...

We visited when going to a gig. The building is stunning and inside is cozy with a nice atmosphere. Room was a little small but had a four poster bed which was really comfortable. The chilled bottle of wine that I had requested was waiting for us. We arrived back after closing but they were happy to put drinks on...

Stayed here for couple of nights hotel fine and good breakfast. Only gripe we ordered burritos for evening meal, it came with a choice of sauce so ordered green chilli. Food lacked in flavour and dry as no sauce came, if they didn't have this they should have asked us for another choice, disappointing.

The area of the Inn is lovely, leafy and quiet. An old fashioned Inn but the bedrooms are adequate and although basic the beds are comfy with nice bedding. Based on price compared to other places in central Liverpool it was ok . Have rated it based on the fact it was adequate for what we needed that night. The...

I visit the Childwall Abbey several times in a three month period as I tend the family grave in Childwall churchyard. Solid old building steeped in history. Has seen many changes over the years and that includes furniture, decor, staff, clientele. Don't go there just for the food...it's mediocre. Service is not marvellous. Beer is OK. Good big outside sitting...
