With a prime location just four miles from Liverpool city centre and five minutes from the M62 we're in easy reach of many great attractions. The Childwall Abbey Hotel is an extraordinary building in a beautiful location, the exact origins of the Childwall Abbey Hotel remain a mystery but the commonly held belief is that the original Abbey building dates as far back as the Domesday Book. The building has been sympathetically restored and now offers seven comfortable bedrooms. A stay at the Childwall Abbey Hotel offers a memorable experience, from the rumoured haunting of a 15th century ghost, to the tap room which hosted The Beatles in their former incarnation as The Quarrymen, the Childwall Abbey is steeped in Liverpool's rich and diverse cultural history. The Childwall Abbey is not just a hotel, but a traditional pub too. Serving proper pub grub, pints of cask ale, refreshing glasses of wine and a great selection of spirits and soft drinks, there's something for everyone.

ORDER ONLINE lozerz gold 8 reviews just now NEW We stayed for one night at the Childwall Abbey Hotel whilst visiting a friend and were very impressed with the overall experience. We had dinner at the hotel which was great with good portion sizes and a fantastic vegetarian selection (which can sometimes be a struggle at other hotels). Breakfast in the morning was spectacular with my partner and I each having a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. The staff made our stay an especially wonderful experience and were so friendly and helpful. We had made a mistake at dinner and ordered our food and drinks to the wrong table, however, when we informed staff of our error they quickly rectified the situation and even poured my partner a fresh drink as ours had been waiting on the bar for some time which is, in my opinion, above and beyond service! The lovely lady (sarah)who served us in the morning for breakfast was so friendly and efficient. We had our coffees within 5 mins of sitting down and did not feel rushed to finish our meal (which is an issue we have encountered at other hotels). Our room was beautiful and fully equipped with everything we needed, however, if we had needed anything I would have had no worries about speaking to the friendly and welcoming staff. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definately be back soon!

Great stay at this hotel with pub on site. Large room with decent size bed tv above fireplace the fireplace was handy to keep stuff out the way! Lots of hanging space in room. Bathroom a little dated but everything worked nice fresh fluffy towels. Temp of room was just right curtains where black out. Some noise when people in/out but very minimal. Could order breakfast on the day if wanted good prices. Large car park opposite. We had a drink in the bar children welcome until 10 which is handy. Was visiting family in the area we would return great value for money and lovely atmosphere in pub.

Visited today, tried to order food but to be told they had no steaks, no lasagna, no fish, so we opted for other meals they did have. It was a load of rubbish, I have had better microwave meals than what we received, they should be ashamed of themselves but get the feeling they won’t be because they don’t give a toss. (No asking if everything was ok, but I am not surprised they don’t ask, as they know what feedback they will get) Something has definitely changed hear, new manager or new chefs maybe? This used to be the place to go but now, no chance. I thought it was strange that the place was very quite with most tables empty (this never used to be the case, it used to be chocker). As soon as we walked in, there was no other customers waiting at the bar (usually you can’t get to the bar it’s that busy). Chips where cheap supermarket type chips and the “chefs” couldn’t even cook those properly (they where raw in the centre), pie pastry was like glue (microwaved). I wish I had taken some photos now to show you all. Cheesy garlic bread was all floppy like it had been microwaved. The bar staff must be new as it took them ages to put the drinks through the till, plus I asked for a Pinot white wine but was given a blush. I also noticed that hardly anyone else was eating, just having drinks and now I know why. It’s a bloody shame as used to be great for food. Oh well that’s another customer lost unfortunately when it comes to wanting a meal.

Booked to stay in the Childwall Abbey Arms, as we were in the area for friends wedding. Accommodation is situated a short driving distance away from Broad Green train station and is the closest station if you’re travelling by train. Rooms were comfortable with good facilities. Check in was straightforward and all staff were friendly and were always happy to help. One member of the bar staff was even more than willing to help me cut a label out of my dress, as I’d forgot to pack any scissors! Nice pub area that we took advantage of being heading to the wedding. Easy to get an Uber from this location so would be good if you’re looking for accommodation out of the city.
