Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have stayed here before and like the free on site parking and location to Sefton Park and Lark Lane. We paid just for a standard double room thinking that we would visit a cafe for breakfast. On arrival we were delighted to hear that a complimentary breakfast was thrown in. Breakfast was continental and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Receptionist recommended a restaurant when we said we fancied Turkish food. Excellent recommendation. Can't fault the service. Rooms may look tired as mentioned by other reviewers but our shower room was very good and newly furbished. We would come again.

Just stayed here this week whilst visiting family chosen due to location in particular near the park and Lark Lane. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful for us and the room was pleasant and reasonably quiet. I asked for extra pillows and a topper as mattress was a little lumpy this was done straight away and really helped. The breakfast was a very good continental with plenty of choice. I look forward to returning in the new year.

Great hotel , great location and good value for money. Would certainly return and is a hidden gem . The beds are very comfortable and the early morning light is well blacked out which is great for light sleepers

Great location for Sefton Park and Lark Lane. Bus into city centre directly outside and free parking. Very spacious room with all amenities and great to have a quiet bar and pool table lounge that's family friendly. Staff are there 24 hours and could not have been more helpful. Continental breakfast was very generous. The building is Victorian/Edwardian and so some of the fittings like the giant bath reflect that but I like that kind of thing and it was an absolute bargain stopover that I know we'll end up using again.

The room was basic and had furnishings with signs of wear and tear. It also had dirty skirting boards. The bed was hard although we were advised on checkout that we could have had a soft one had we asked for it. What was really disappointing was the £50 per person deposit against damages. If we didn't have any then that would be returned to us in TEN DAYS. Staff were friendly and helpful, but it needs major improvement.

We arrived just before 6, the front of house was polite informative and professional. Payed a deposit, which was a suprise. Went to our room for our brief stay found the room to be a little dated holes in wall from the door knob hitting the wall. The toilet and shower room was spacious however being the type of tiles they are very hazardous for anyone who might not be great on thier feet. As well even if you are a mountain host you might slip of the walk in shower to bathroom tiles. Tea, coffee kettle all in working order. Bed was comfortable , better then a travellodge. Sadly only one set of pillars. It gave a good night sleep. We could smell a musty smell, the heating was not on. Which for a cooler night meant waking up in a cooler room which wasnt great. Breakfast was a lovely selection however for someone who is is plant based, it doesnt open up to having plenty as its either cereal or cereal as continental meant eggs ,meats and pastries. Staff were pleasent and professional still after nearly a week of our stay we have had zero confirmation about the deposit being payed back. Even thpugh we reported the damage in the nigjt and morning they didnt seem too fussed about it Its comfortable however its a shame the room had a smell.

Nice size rooms. Renovated bathrooms. Excellent quality of towels. Very clean throughout. Comfortable beds. Staff go above and beyond service. Breakfast was fine. Continental with lots of choice and the coffee was fine. Lots of parking and on several bus routes. Keep in mind it's not a 4 star. It's a good 3 star. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The location was great. There is a lot to do in Liverpool, but I wouldn’t stay here again . Only provided one pillow, when asked for another one it was cheap and lumpy. The room was cold and noisy as we were situated out the front, you couldn’t pull the curtains properly. Very shabby and tired . With a staple holding the wall paper together . The room had a horrible smell to it and when you walked downstairs to get breakfast there was a very bad smell of damp. The door handles are situated extremely close to the doorframe when closed , so caught hand and fingers several times resulting in a lot of pain and blood. The hotel was very clean, if you stay here ask for a room out the back were it is quieter. It is a good price.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Sefton Park. The rooms are pleasant, apart from hand soap and shower gel there are no other toiletries, hairdryers are not provided. The bathroom needs a shelf of some sort as there isn’t anywhere to put your shower gel. Breakfast is continental but there is a good choice, also there’s a well stocked bar serving drinks at reasonable prices.
