Fox & Anchor is a traditional British pub, located within strolling distance of Barbican and Farringdon. Step through the door and you'll immediately notice the homely and embracing atmosphere. With a grand decor and a delightfully cosy private 'Fox's Den', everything about the venue is steeped in tradition; nothing flash, just a slick and comfortable place to grab a drink and let the good times roll. Peckish? Well you're in the right place, as the Fox & Anchor serves up hearty portions of pub classics comprising of colourful, seasonal, British ingredients. The Fox & Anchor concept is one that strikes a chord with a truly eclectic mix of Londoners - it is, after all, the venue's aim to see "city traders rubbing shoulders with Bob the Butcher." An all-rounder perfect to swing by no matter what time of day.

Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.

Returned to this great little out of the way pub for a long weekend. We were given a complimentary night as we'd encountered a few hiccups on our previous visit. Stayed this time in the Market Suite which is the largest and most well appointed although we really did enjoy the

The rooms are above a very busy little pub. Checkin is at the bar of the pub and can take a long time if the pub is busy (took over half an hour when we checked in). The rooms are small (we had the largest one and it was compact) but wonderfully decorated. Iron bath and washing

Hi Gibmini, Thanks you for taking the time to write a review on our gorgeously refurbished bedrooms! I do apologise you experienced a long wait to check in - this never happens and can only be attributed to this being one of the busiest days of the year. I'm delighted that you loved our art-deco decor and little gems like our record player. Overall, I'm glad you had a lovely stay with us and found our beds comfy and no sound travelling through from the pub below. We really do look forward to having you stay with us again! Kind regards, Thomas Ryan Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Booked in for a full english breakfast and a few pints of Guinness with three colleagues. We could not fault the breakfast which was huge and included all the trimmings. Good location close to Smithfield market and a short walk from Farmington tube station. Service was ok but

Hi TommyandTeddy, Thanks for taking the time to write a review on your recent experience with us. I'm delighted you enjoyed, by the sounds of it, our famous City Boy breakfast and our prime location a stone's throw from Smithfield Market and Farringdon station. I do apologise with the over-complicated booking process but yes, you are correct in saying that this was due to the early Christmas season - all bookings for the 13th December onwards experienced this. I would like to say that we are working on improving this for next year. Overall, I'm thoroughly glad you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Kind regards, Thomas Ryan Sales & Marketing Coordinator

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. It is truly a unique experience to stay at a small (4-6 rooms) hotel with such character. I booked through Expedia after seeing rooms were available for my stay dates. Some context: I had eaten dinner at the Fox & Anchor
