Detailed Reviews
We booked into the hotel for one night and stayed in an executive room which was comfortable and had good high views. There was plenty of wardrobe space and shelves. Switches in the room were ambient lit, electronic and quite modern.
The bathroom zone has no door to the large expanse of washbasin and giant mirrored wall. There is a semi transparent sliding door which alternates between shower and toilet. This could be embarrassing if there were three of you sharing a room, with either views of someone having a shower or someone sitting in the toilet. There plenty of towels and Elemis toiletries available. Ambient low level lighting through the night.
The one thing about the hotel is that the lighting is rather low throughout, the reception area was really dark, then walking along the dark corridors to a dark room was surreal. There is a kind of ambient lighting all around and in the rooms but I had to use my camera phone torch to see how to use the state of the art switches.
There was a tea and coffee alcove in the room but no lighting at all in that area, so out came the camera phone torch again. There was a nespresso machine in the alcove, which looked like it hadn’t been used for a while, as it was a but dusty. I didn’t try to use it as there were no instructions and I wouldn’t know how to clean or fill it in the dark.
We had booked into the executive lounge which at the time was £20 pp, main entry was 6-8 pm for drinks and canapés and advertised as all day entry for tea, coffee and soft drinks. When I went up to the executive lounge at 4pm there was a poster to say there was a private function and there was no entry; I saw no sign of any function taking place when I looked through the door glass. However, we arrived back at 6pm and enjoyed the view and facilities. The hostess was very pleasant and on hand throughout to help with queries and general clearing / replenishing.
There was tea and coffee available but I’m surprised there were no sweet treats or biscuits.
Drink availability was red and white wine, Prosecco and bottled beers.
Food was not really canapés but a selection of two salads, samosas, chicken drumsticks / wings. We asked if we could have some bread and the staff member kindly ordered some bread for us. This was good value and saved us going out for a meal.
Breakfast was £15.50 at time of visit, so we decided against this.

It's the minor details that can make a huge difference, and I have to complement the whole staff team at the Park Plaza London Waterloo.
The room wasn't ready when we arrived, but the chap on reception was very decent and polite about it, and we sat in the bar with complimentary drinks (for both adults and children) whilst we waited.
The room was just right for 2 adults and 2 children, and despite the central location and only being on the 3rd floor, it was still very quiet.
Our dinner on our first evening was lovely, and the children were well catered for.
The location is of course great, and just minutes from the Eye, Southbank, etc.
Finally we had hoped to use the pool on our last day, but it was closed for work. This was a bit of a disappointment, but again reception came through, and called ahead to the Park Plaza at Westminster Bridge (about 5mim away), where we were able to use their pool instead.
Very happy, will be back!

My wife and I were attending a Secret Cinema event in London and decided to stay over for the night. We have stayed at the Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge a few times before and my intention was to book a room there. I made a blunder and booked at this hotel instead which is about a 10 minute walk away, but it actually worked out very well!
Room prices are cheaper than the Westminster Bridge hotel, we got a room for around £130 with breakfast. Although the hotel does not look like quite as impressive as the Westminster Bridge hotel on the outside, it was very modern on the inside. We had a very pleasant room with a nice view of the square outside and views to the Shard in the distance. The room was very modern with electric blinds and control panel and had clearly been refurbished recently. Location was great, close walk to Waterloo and the South Bank and with Lambeth North tube station just across the road.
Breakfast was very nice with a broad selection of hot and cold food after a good nights sleep. The hotel also has a pool which unfortunately we did not get to use, but is obviously a good option.
Overall a really good reasonably priced option which I could recommend and would definitely plan to use again.

Nice clean hotel, located well very near Lambeth North tube station.
Staff very friendly, though seemed to be a lot of them around dinner time and felt like I had to fight them off offering to help me!
Rating would be much higher, however quality of sleep is important to me and the lighting arrangement in my room wasn’t very good. You can take tech to far and removing a simple light switch in favour of a control pad with other stuff on isn’t easy to use in a dimly lite room!
But more importantly the bathroom had a shin level light that you couldn’t turn off, at all (no light switch or key pad option!) As the bathroom door is a sliding glass job it means the bathroom light keeps the rest of the room light up to a degree. If like me you need it pitch black it’s hard to sleep. Design over practicality I’m afraid.
As there’s lots of hotel choices in London I’ll only go back if I know I can turn all the lights off.

Dear Pullsomestrings, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with me. I am delighted you enjoyed your time with us and found the team to be friendly and the hotel clean. Like me, I also need pitch black to sleep. We have black out blinds to ensure no light can enter the room as well as a separate switch on the panel by the bathroom to turn off all lights in the bathroom. the purpose of the under sink light is so you can illuminate the bathroom without waking anyone else in the room. I truly wish you had brought this to my attention during your time with us as I would have been able to show this to you. I will feed this back to the team so they can better explain this on arrival to our 1st time guests. My apologies for any inconvenience caused and I hope to welcome you back in the near future. Best wishes, Wayne Kerrin Operations Manager

Modern stylish hotel with attentive polite staff 10 minutes walk from Waterloo or 1 min from Lambeth North Tube.
Great value for money. Pre book breakfast night before at reception if not included with room.
Hotel has pool sauna and steam room all of which are incredibly clean and functional.
If your staying for more than one night ask for room not to be serviced, help save the environment and receive a half size bottle of wine. Win win!

I love staying at the park plaza Waterloo, the staff could not be more helpful if they tried. It had a lovely Christmas atmosphere the decorations were amazing. We were welcomed with Prosecco and chocolates, the staff just make you feel like nothing is a problem. There was a lovely touch of returning to the room whilst away for dinner to chocolates on our pillows with the bed prepared. We had an issue with our shower and the chief engineer lee sorted it straight away, going to show that nothing is a problem. I would recommend the florentine restaurant, the food was of an extremely high standard with a lovely relaxing atmosphere, we were made to feel very welcome. I would advise anybody who is considering staying at the park plaza Waterloo to book now!!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the valentines weekend. I wouldn’t stay again. I’ve previously stayed at Park Plaza County Hall which was amazing, I had the same expectations for this park plaza hotel. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations.
We’d booked a superior room via Trip.com. I selected on their website that we would like a double/king. When we arrived we were greeted with two twin beds pushed together. I queried this and was told it’s what we had booked and there was no way we could swap.
We noticed there were no teaspoons (basics) in the room to make a cup of tea or coffee. I called down and they assured us someone would bring one up. This didn’t happen. I had to ask again the next morning and half an hour later someone brought one up.
Pro’s - great location, directly opposite Lambeth North station, walking distance to London eye, Westminster, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament. Shower was very powerful.
Con’s - VERY DARK! Not at all as advertised on their website. The rooms on their website show light airy rooms, they are in fact so, so dark, with blue mood lighting an indoor window and a green bathroom. So hard to see to put your makeup on. One pillow, no plug in the tea station area, so had to plug our kettle in on the other side of the room, paper thin walls I could hear people talking in the rooms nextdoor, TV kept losing signal and YouTube didn’t work properly, there are locked doors inside of the room which made me feel uneasy... one obviously connected to another room. House keeping broke my water bottle and no one even mentioned it, I had to bring this up with reception. It was a plastic refillable bottle that was completely shattered. House keeping came hammering on our hotel room door at 8.30am on our final day. God knows why! Very annoying, I was rudely awakened!
I did speak with the manager at reception who said she would put some points onto a raddisson rewards card, that I was given upon check in. She assured me this card had been registered to my email address. It hasn’t and now I have no idea how I’m supposed to use the card without having any log in details.
Would not recommend! For the extra bit in price I would definitely stay in the park plaza county hall just up the road.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay. Upon check in the hotel lobby was beautiful, we were checked in efficiently a room for 4 people 3 adults and 1 child (we had emailed the hotel weeks before arriving to ask if there was an additional cost as we originally booked
the room for 2 adults and 1 child, they responded on email that there was NO additional cost). We also reiterated this at check in as they still had us down for 2 adults and 1 child we asked them to amend it so there was no problems at breakfast.
The website boasts of a child friendly hotel where children receive a pack on check in, we did not.
We checked in the room and everything seemed in order, nothing special to warrant it’s 4 stars but good enough. We then went down for our evening meal in the restaurant and it was definitely not worth the visit! The food was basic and overpriced, the service was rushed and impersonal.
Upon retiring to our room for sleep we appreciated the quiet lovely air conditioning. We then put down our black out blind which was full of holes and gaps at the side, this became apparent in the early hours of the morning.
Breakfast was manic and very poor as in they were running out of most things and very slow in replacing them the quality of the meats was good. When queuing to check in for breakfast they still had us down as a room of 3! After breakfast I went to reception to report this after eventually having to speak to a supervisor I was told there would be a £60 charge for my mums breakfast (the 3rd adult) I explained we were told there was no extra cost. They argued and said there would be a cost, later my husband went to reception with the email and they still refused we were told this, when it was in writing!
I was honestly disgusted with their dismissive like it or lump it customer service.
Other things like the cleaner making us wait outside for 30mins while she did the room, our key breaking (although this was dealt with quickly) and a cleaning lady knocking on our door at 8:15am this morning to ask was we checking out when our check out was 12pm! Pool was absolutely freezing!
We would of been happy to pay the extra cost for the breakfast if we were told about it before hand and also if the charge was worth it.
We will definitely not be revisiting this hotel.

There were hidden charges, poor room service, bathroom door doesn’t close. For a quiet room, could hear literally everything in the next room & outside.
Charged £26 pounds for items taken from the minibar. We only took 2 bottles of water which we were told were complimentary. Yet we’re charged for wine and sparkling water, we don’t even drink alcohol. Noisy kids playing the flute at 7am and running around knocking on people’s doors was absolutely ridiculous. Baring in mind over £1200 paid for this experience. Definitely do not recommend and will never be back again.
The cleaning staff and one of the security guys were very nice, rooms are pretty modern and look nice.

Thanks for the feedback, Hesham. We are very sorry that you were unsatisfied with your stay with us. Your booking has been reviewed and I can see that the only extra charge is a combination of your Breakfast room service and three bottles of water from the minibar, no additional charges appear on your billing. We understand how important a quiet environment is, and we regret that you did not have peaceful mornings. We appreciate your kind words about our housekeeping and security team. We hope you will consider staying with us for your next trip to London, as we would love the opportunity to wow you and win back your trust in our hotel! Kind regards, Axel, General Manager

+1
This hotel is conveniently located next to the Lambeth North metro station and less than a 10 minutes’ walk (0.5 ml) from Westminster Bridge.
There are plenty of souvenir shops nearby, on the way to the Bridge.
Due to some sort of misunderstanding by the reservation clerks, we were placed in a room that was way too far from our expectations. The error could not be fixed and our first night at the Plaza was not happy.
We were ready to search for a different hotel to stay, but next morning our experience at the Plaza was overturn to more positive. Thanks to an effort from some excellent employees, we were moved to the room that we initially booked. We would like to recognize Ana and her professionalism, who went above and beyond to stand for the hotel’s reputation and to make our trip more memorable.
It’s a busy hotel, that is smartly organized to accommodate different type of travelers. It’s very family oriented, with train station themed special Kids’ zone, where little visitors can check it.
At the same there are cozy areas where adults can relax near the fireplace with the morning paper, or drink at night.
There is a spa area, with a small pool and sauna to relax at the end of the day.
Breakfast was well organized, even during the busiest hours. There are several areas of seating, that you can choose according to your preference, and hostesses were very accommodating. We were able to sit at our chosen table at the “adults” area next to the fireplace every morning. There was one hardworking lady at the serving area that really needs to work on her facial expression and the way she responds to the customers’ inquires, but overall the staff was professional and helpful. The food was good, and dinnerware was of pleasant quality.
I would recommend this hotel for families, London explorers, and business travelers.
