Living locally, we were looking forward to trying the revamped Hitchcock.
For our visit seating is still limited to outside but they have made a pretty good job of the “ Pleasure Garden” which is the covered area outside. The staff lit the heaters to keep us comfortable.
The current menu is an eclectic mix with no real theme or direction. However the variety of dishes are very interesting.
We tried about 6 dishes and all were good quality. A fine burrata dish, a stylish cured salmon plate and a duck and melon salad were amongst those tried.
The staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly.
This redefined venue is certainly not cheap but it is a welcome new edition to the local area.
Recommended.

People have been blinded by the fact that some of the staff came from the new ‘Ivy Restaurant’ in LONDON. Absolutely dreadful food prepared from a kitchen that doesn’t major on fresh produce. Hugely overpriced wine - Graham Beck sparkling £12.99 in stores. £35 in bar! No excuse. Staff were friendly and helpful. They were the only plus
Point about the whole place. The manager insisted she took the price of the food off the bill (we were prepared to pay). So disheartened that people don’t care what they eat or what they pay. This was a golden opportunity for this place to shine. Won’t return.

We have always stayed at this hotel when we come down to visit my son & grand children & always liked it. But this time it had all changed as someone else is running the bar & restaurant separate to the hotel. We always had breakfast included in the price, not any longer. The outside area out front of the hotel is now all seating for the restaurant & our room was at the front of the hotel, so it was very noisy as the windows are not double glazed. There was no coffee in our room & the milk had gone off, also no remote for the TV, we asked for one but never got one. When we arrived they tried to charge me £26 more than i had been quoted. We decided to leave early morning for the drive back to Newcastle to avoid the bank holiday traffic, but we could not get to our car as they had locked the car park. This has never happened before & no-one had told us this, so my partner had to knock someone up to unlock the gate for us. It all felt disorganised & not the same as it used to be.

The warm welcome and attention to detail that you receive at this hotel was apparent when Jason, the owner, called me on the day of my arrival to check when I would arrive, to make sure that I knew how to get to the hotel, and to make arrangements for my reception when I arrived. Throughout my stay over several weeks Jason, Dave and the rest of the staff gave me a warm and friendly welcome and were consistently attentive and helpful.
I stayed in two different rooms, each of which was attractively decorated, and well supplied with a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and a wide variety of tea and coffee making facilities. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were spacious and warm. The bathrooms were magnificent with good sized shower cubicles and easily controlled power showers. There were plenty of towels which were a proper size and good quality.
The dining facilities provided a tantalising variety of superbly cooked food, and I was so taken with the Thai Green Curry (the best I have tasted anywhere!!) that I had to order it on more than one occasion.
The hotel is ideally situated for easy travel to major London attractions and well located for local facilities.
Jason deserves to be proud of this hotel and the excellent quality and facilities that he provides. I shall have no hesitation in returning whenever I have to travel to London, no matter where I will be working, because of the pleasure I get from staying there. I am also recommending the hotel to my colleagues and friends who have to travel to London and Snaresbrook in particular.
Thank you, Jason, and to all of your staff for a very enjoyable experience.

Dropped in this afternoon for lunch and a couple of drinks and were totally delighted with everything we encountered. Restrictions were clearly signposted and monitored, outside space was ideal, loads of room. Beers were tasty, wine was good (I'm told)
Ordered burgers (Black and Blue, hold the mushrooms, absolutely delicious, thanks!) calamari and portion of fries. All food was ample in portion and very tasty. Pricing was absolutely ideal too, very reasonable indeed. Service was excellent, James was fun to deal with and very efficient, cheers!
Quotes from the table:
"What's the meat you get from a lamb?"
"It's just nice to have some fun at last!"
Highly recommended!

Fantastic Sunday lunch with friends. It was probably the best vegetarian roast I’ve had, a delicious nutty/veggie wellington plus roast potatoes which were actually crispy. Root veg were included but as I don’t like parsnips and swede I paid extra for french beans and Yorkshire pudding. Puddings were good too; I had Eton Mess and the tarte tartin was light and not too sweet. It was served in the just completed airy conservatory area which was warm and cosy on a very chilly afternoon. The owners are always very welcoming and so enthusiastic about all
the latest renovations and plans for the future. It’s not a cheap eat (£40 a head roughly) but I’ve had so many awful
pub roasts that I didn’t object.

We'd read scathing recent reviews of this place and good older reviews, but booked 2 nights after a friend recommended it. Friendly staff, clean, comfy room, great firm mattress. Food very good (though expensive) and service excellent. The hotel and restaurant are now divided ownerships and I imagine the lockdowns hit the businesses hard, but they're picking up well again.

Visited yesterday after work for a drink before an evening event. This pub is set up to over charge you at every price point. Serves doubles and when asked why was advised this is default unless you state otherwise, doesn’t allow you to get own drinks from bar so adds extortionate service charge just to have a drink. Small portions of over priced food.
This is my second visit, first was large group so accepted it might be expensive however three ladies having one drink after work shouldn’t equate to £54 won’t be going back despite its vicinity to my place of work and limited options in the area.

Extremely loud music / yelling coming from the bar until well after midnight - totally ruined the stay .
Rooms in upper corridors smelled of cigarette smoke.
The interior of rooms are nice but if the hotel is not linked to the restaurant and bar there is a huge problem as the bar impacts hugely on the hotel stay . The waiting / bar staff were rude and confrontational despite it being well after midnight when the party was going on. Would not recommend for anyone

We'd booked an overnight stay on a Saturday. On arrival we were told that they wouldn't be serving breakfast. The room was extremely hot - radiators full on - and never cooled down properly. So we had to try to sleep with the windows open. The room faces busy Whipps Cross Road and overlooks the outside reastaurant, so it was a noisy night. Not recommended at all.

Hi Lindsay. I'm not sure about this. The pub was dog-friendly but I don't know about the hotel. Try calling the hotel :)
