Great location, friendly staff and wonderful decor. The facilities were fine, nothing extra special but everything that you would need. We had studio 2, which was spacious, fairly clean and comfortable. However, the shower wasn't the best, as it sprayed over the shower walls, which made the room quite wet. The stairs leading up to the double bed were incredibly steep, so make sure you don't try to manage these whilst under the influence!
I commute to work and sometimes break up the week by staying in London. I lived in Wood Green a few years a go and was familiar with the area so gave Green Rooms a try. Having lived in the area I know getting to central London is really easy from here. I booked a very reasonably priced dorm and the stay far exceeded my expectations. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean place. This will certainly become a regular place for me to stay during the week.
Microwave wasn’t working and when it got reported to staff we were called by the owner to a secluded room to be talked to in a very degrading and patronising way. We were also threatened with booking cancellation and were told of for a mess done by someone else in a communal area. I have never experienced this kind of treatment anywhere within hospitality. I guess the owner is confused about the type of business he is in or just this way disgustingly boosts his ego.
I visited the Green Rooms bar and restaurant with my family early on a Tuesday evening, when it was fairly busy. There is a bar, a cosy seating area and some tables for meals. The setting is friendly and informal. The Japanese menu – Oita's Kitchen – is fantastically good. We all had different dishes: seafood with noodles, sushi platters and I had chicken katsu with curry and rice. Everything was just amazingly tasty and very reasonably priced (my chicken katsu was £8.50). This family of 4 (age range 85 to 9) was immensely impressed by the quality of the food and the welcoming friendly and efficient service. The music is a bit loud for conversation but we will definitely be back. Who needs to chat with their family when the food is this good!! The Green Rooms is also a modest hotel but the restaurant is open to non-guests and seemed to be the restaurant of choice for many locals. Lucky anyone for whom this is a local restaurant!…
Natalia, the manager, was extremely helpful in arranging Green Rooms' functions room for our wedding. She, and everyone I met who works at Green Rooms, was so friendly and accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. The rooms, too, are clean, spacious, and bright. I would highly recommend Green Rooms as a place to stay or to have an event. Nelson and Zu
