Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the “no window and no wardrobe” room which we picked just because we were there for one night and it was affordable. Honestly pleasantly surprised! Huge bed, lovely clean and well presented room and bathroom. Great shower pressure, and air conditioning to keep it from getting too stuffy. It was a cozy, warm room with heavy fire doors. My only negative are the pillows, they’re just air! The mattress was very comfortable but the pillows did nothing, I might as well not used them because they had no support, hardly anything in them, you just sunk right through. Don’t be put off this being above a bar, we couldn’t hear anyone when in our room which is great. Overall a lovely stay and would come back again.

Room Tip: If you want to use the bar bring smart clothes as it’s a bit posh. There’s a side entrance though...

This was a perfect spot for everything. Excellent location, clean and welcoming. Touch of Luxury. As mentioned it was small but Cosy. The bedding was comfortable and the soft touch pillow gave a relaxing sleep. Would love to stay again. Thanks for looking after my stay.

Extremely bad experience. Make sure you only purchase a refundable room. Even if you have a life shattering medical emergency, this hotel will not refund or move your reservation. They have made a terrible experience even worse.

My husband and I had a brilliant night at this hotel - it wasn't cheap ( having read reviews I booked a lux room with a window) but we had a super room , at the back so quiet , brilliant bathroom and super comfy bed and pillows. The staff were very welcoming. The hotel is stylish, it was very clean and the bar area ( we didn't use) looked cosy . The best thing about this hotel was that it was in the centre of all the action - we went to Ronnie Scotts ( virtually next door) and the theatre ( end of the road) - we ate in China Town ( at the end of the road too!) - I suffer from mobility issues and it was great to be on the doorsteps - no taxis required! Hotel also has a lift!. Would definitely stay here again.

We had one of our worst ever experiences visiting this hotel in Oct. Whatever you do, don’t stay there under any circumstances! We were given a room in a building several streets away from the actual hotel. The entrance to the building is right on a busy street. When you enter, there’s a filthy dirty stairway with stained carpets, and the room itself was pretty disgusting – really smelly and shabby. The lighting was dreadful and the air conditioning unit made a complete racket all night long (and didn’t even produce much cool air!) We woke in the morning with several flea bites – both of us – and decided we wanted to check out immediately. So we asked for a refund via Expedia, and the manager declined. Seriously?! How could Expedia allow this to happen? (I’ve raised a complaint with them separately and am now awaiting the outcome). Anyway, we then went round to visit the manager in person, to try to appeal to his good nature. What a waste of time! He was thoroughly rude and obnoxious. So then, after messaging Expedia for about half an hour and getting nowhere with trying to get a refund (there’s no UK phone number for Expedia – you can only speak to them via live chat), we agreed to move to a different room within the same block, which was a bit better than the first room. Nicer décor, more natural light, better aspect etc. To cut a long story short, upon checking out, the manager (called Amal) promised to refund us for the first night’s accommodation, which I was pleased about. If you buy a product which you aren’t happy about, you get a full refund – right? But when the refund came through on my credit card the next day, it was actually for just 20% of the first night’s cost. What a dishonest man! If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would. It’s simply the worst place I've ever stayed at.

I haven't had the chance to personally stay at the hotel itself (as I live in London) however I enjoy going to the bar (as part of the hotel) Henson's Bar. It's a small but stylish place with a great selection of cocktails and other beverages and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and this is part of business meetings and/or social gatherings.

We stayed in #502. Awful room. I never slept well any of the nights I was there. We stayed in the separate suites a few blocks away from the actual hotel check in and lobby. The actual entrance to your room is right off the busy street on Greek street. Once you enter you’ll see a dirty old stairway with stained carpets leading you up steep stairs. Definitely dirty creepy vibes. Upon entry into our room it smelled immediately off putting. A little moldy with a weird musky fragrance meant to probably cover up cigarette smoke and food. It smelt like that the entire time. I felt engulfed in it every time I entered this room. There is absolutely no lighting in this room so half the time we had to use flashlights from our phones for additional lighting to do our work or get ready. The lack of usable space and storage just didn’t make sense. The worst part was the lack of circulation in the room. I couldn’t breathe the entire time and my allergies flared up every time I entered. It was so stuffy I felt ill every time I entered…and that smell. You cannot open the windows to let air in at night as the noise from the busy street was crazy loud and there is cigarette smoke that comes in so you’re forced to close the windows. The air con does not work either. I guess the only positive was that the double paned windows legitimately kept all the noise out and trust me.. that was a good thing. There are multiple busy nightclubs right next to you with people screaming in the streets and loud music past 3am. But at the same time.. I couldn’t breathe in the room either so it felt like a prison. The pillows were so uncomfortable. The ones that just smoosh down with no neck support. Every morning I was awoken by someone doing the riverdance above us. The bathrooms are so small you have nowhere to get ready and my husband couldn’t shave on the counters. There is a fan or something in the bathroom that’s broken and kicks on every once in awhile making loud grinding noises. None of the USB plug ins work. If you’re looking for somewhere right in the heart of soho close to all the restaurants and bars then you might like this spot. That was a plus. However this was the worst room I’ve stayed in for the price. I was so Eager to check out. I legitimately left feeling ill.

This little boutique hotel is a bit of a hidden gem. Perfect for a one night stay. My room was very small without a window, but I expected that and in fact had an excellent night’s sleep in the very comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower with Molton Brown products. Perfect for a solo traveller. The hotel is situated in central Soho and about 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly Circus and very close to restaurants and bars situated around Frith Street. The hotel has its own bar too which was very nice indeed. All the staff we came across were lovely and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Easy to find hotel right in the centre of it all. Great location for shows in town, but can be noisy at night so if you are a light sleeper I would consider that! Helpful staff at reception and easy check in. Room was very small but we expected this and it was a good base for our trip. Was very warm but air con is in the room which is a necessity. Room was quite dusty but overall a good stay.

When we walked into the clubby looking lobby with comfy seats and a bar full of gleaming bottles, we felt smug. We’d found an affordable (for London) hotel in Soho that was really cool, really nice. They held our suitcases (too early to check in) while we sipped delicious cappuccinos before heading to the V and A, an easy bus ride because the hotel is so centrally located. When we returned to go to our room, the weirdness began. Our room was about 2 blocks away—how were we going to get our coffee in the morning? I thought as the hotel guy wheeled our bag down the street to an unmarked door above a “diner” and up a flight of dark, depressing steps. We squeezed ourselves and our luggage into a teeny vestibule where some other poor people’s room was and into our equally dark, depressing room. The hotel guy couldn’t wait to get out of there either, but he hadn’t paid $350 pounds for it. There was: a nice king sized bed, no place to put luggage, a weird door that had to be opened so we could have air and light (and the weird food smells that floated in from aforementioned “diner”), an unplugged fan on the floor (see above lack of anything to actually put things on), a weird tiny sink. In the weird tiny bathroom we had to use the toilet withe shower door open so our knees fit somewhere. After a shower, the floor and everything else was drenched. Yet the products were weirdly lovely scented Moulton Brown. In the morning, the phone began ringing precisely at checkout time, I suppose to make sure we were leaving. But it was too dark in the room to figure out how to answer the phone and besides, my husband was already hauling our bags down the dark steps. I somehow got trapped in the tiny vestibule between doors, but luckily got free so I could leave. We asked to check our luggage while we went to lunch next door but were told that since we were no longer guests, we would have to pay. There was disappointment in this, but also joy because…we were no longer guests.
