I'm so happy to see The Half Moon open again after the latest lockdown and to celebrate, my boyfriend and I paid them a visit last night and had a lovely dinner. The need to have a substantial meal with any drinks is the latest rule to come in for a tier 2 location and we really valued the waitress who made sure that we were fully aware of this when making our order. We had one beef burger and one buttermilk fried chicken burger, both very tasty! I'd also highly recommend the padron peppers, as they were delicious too!

To cheer the family up a bit during lockdown, last night we used the Half Moon's home delivery service. Ordering was really easy with their personal service, and a wide range of great pub meals was available. The food came surprisingly quickly and was delivered in a properly socially distanced manner. We ordered two starters, four main courses and two desserts and they were all excellent. Because they were delivered as a single order for us (as opposed to part of a round) everything was still hot. Packaging was recyclable, and specific to the different dishes. To top it off, there was a personal note from the pub which really brightened our evening. It was a fantastic service, well done Half Moon!

Had a lovely birthday lunch here today. Very Covid safe experience and food was very good. Best thing were the staff from the manager who greeted us through the lovely and friendly wait staff to the chef who kindly and cheerily made another meal for me when I was a bit paranoid about the chicken. It was fine as it was and safely cooked but because it was thigh it looked pinker than I’m used to. Instead of getting attitude for being fussy he went out of his way to remake the dish and added chips, delivering it to our table himself. Not what I’ve come to expect from pub service over the years. The manager also appeared afterwards with a complimentary desert as she twigged it was a birthday meal. It didn’t feel like they were going out of their way to be nice but got the feeling they’ve taken time to assemble a great hospitality team who take pride in what they do and put the customer first. Thanks guys - most enjoyable and relaxing meal out we’ve had in ages!

Booked this quickly for an over night stay as we helping son move nearby. However we will definitely be back. So lovely to see an old traditional pub with all its features ‘ up cycled ‘ to a very high but quirky standard. Our room and shower room were really individual -brilliant and originally decorated - we were in Bean . The staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast service and food was really superb ! The menu looked great. Lots of outdoor space . Little expresso machine in our room and loved the little bottle of fresh milk in fridge in room ! Honestly fantastic value for money - we paid £84 inc breakfast.

Very rarely do you enjoy the level of service I have witnessed today for lunch. We hadn’t booked, but the host managed to squeeze us in. The food was enjoyable, but what I’d really like to shout about is the service. Every single member of the team I encountered was fantastic, very friendly and easy going. They all went out of their way to make our visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I didn’t catch the hosts name but she was very accommodating, and Ben in particular was outstanding. On a busy Sunday lunch being able to manage your tables efficiently and make time to have real conversation with your guests shows exceptional hospitality. Fantastic work and thank you all 😘
