Very good value for the money. Big plus that they have a 24 hour reception, and you can check in until 4 am. The beds are attached to the wall which means no squeaky noises. Another plus is that they have plenty of showers.

A good place to stay in terms of location and price, very central and easily accessible by public transport. However, having stayed in this hostel alone as a young woman, it is easy to find yourself in uncomfortable situations. Having to pay more for a single sex room seems a little ironic when it's a predominantly male environment and that you can easily find yourself in a room of 8 men. The security at the entrance was not particularly reassuring either, but at least the curtains around the bed do offer a minimum of privacy. Overall, this hostel was ok but should offer more options for people traveling alone, especially women.

I was here 2.5 weeks during the England-wide lockdown, chose it for its proximity to stations and value. I've heard horror stories about hostels in London, and this pretty much confirmed it. Cramped space unless you're lucky, too warm for comfort unless it's winter and you open the window, uncomfortable cheap mattresses, and questionable residents. Booking via their website is confusing as 6-bed actually means 6 occupants in a 9-bed now with reduced capacity, and I upgraded to a "4-bed" on the spot because I wasn't comfortable with too many occupants in the same room during this time. Beds are placed so close together that there's really no use for social distancing. While there is ample space for luggage in my 6-bed room, imagine what happens when there's actually 6 people! Kitchen isn't clean when I went to look in the evening, only clean in the morning after they did so. Stuff get stolen from the kitchen and the fridge all the time. You have to borrow pans and utensils from the reception with deposits if you want to cook. The manager didn't help very much if we have any complaint, probably didn't even care that the rules aren't well-abided (everyone walks around without a mask in the common area despite signs). And again, questionable long-term occupants because of the ridiculously cheap price, so I wouldn't recommend it for solo female travelers or even only female groups. That said, I did make a couple of friends here, and the female receptionist was helpful (she is the 2nd star on my rating), and that's the only reason I stayed as long as I did, but otherwise, a bit traumatized by the experience and very likely wouldn't go back to this one.

This pace is terrible. At the time I made the booking it was the beginning of the UK Lockdown. Expecting there to be less people sharing the room because of Covid 19, I was surprised to enter a Packed room of people sharing the same space. It was cold and uncomfortable along with a smelly and damp. someone from the government should take a look at this place and weather they are adhering to the national guidelines regarding social distancing during the Covid 19 Pandemic. As a sufferer of Sickle Cell Aneamia, I am on the shielding list and is considered at high risk. Staying at this place would have definitely place me at high risk from catching if not the rona then defo some common cold or flu just from the dirty seating area. However they did not see fit the refund my payment although I did not stay there after seeing what danger I was in. You would get more comfort from a park bench in the midst of winter DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! is is truly terrible through and through and don't even get me started on their aweful customer services. (Practically Non existent)

Really poor hostel - I suppose you get what you pay for but you do expect a certain level of cleanliness, particularly in these times. They are not temperature checking on arrival (despite stating this on the website) and the person in the bunk below me coughed and sneezed throughout the night - they were clearly quite ill. The rooms were cramped and there was zero chance of social distancing. Obviously I booked a room in a shared dorm so expected sharing with strangers, but the beds were so tightly packed together and the room so tiny I don't see how they are operating safely within Covid guidelines. I had to stay there due to work and it was the only place I could afford, but I think next time I will just sleep on a bench!
