I recently booked this hotel over the new year period but had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. They took my money (£170) and refunded me nothing! Keeping the whole amount for doing absolutely nothing. Booked through booking.com and they said it's up to the hotels

Hello, New years eve is one of our busiest time of year, I have checked the notes for your booking, you cancelled on the 30th December for a check in on the 31st. We do advise that you take out adequate insurance incase of such events, we did hold your booking in good faith for a month. I feel all hotels will follow their own policy when it comes to cancelations, particularly on new years eve, if you did give us notice we could have refunded you some money, however a cancelation the day prior for most hotels would incur a charge.

This is a great little hotel in the heart of Golders Green. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful and were very pleasant to deal with. Included in the rate is a lovely buffet breakfast every morning with plenty of choices. The rooms aren't very big at all and are a

Basic kosher Israeli style breakfast: bread with toaster, butter, jam; scrabled eggs; smoked salmon; cereals; Israeli salad; coffee, tea, orange juice. All freshly laid out from about 8am every morning, just ask the evening before if you need somewhat earlier. Shabbat they have hard-boiled eggs rather than scrambled, and the toaster is not out; they also keep a shabbat kettle out all day and have a hot plate running for warming your own wrapped foods; catered meals can be ordered several days before shabbat.

Yes. You are a 5-10 minute walk from Golders Green underground station. You could take the tube (Northern Line), Charing Cross branch: depends where you want on Oxford Street. Either get out at Tottenham Court Road, which is at the east end of Oxford Street, or change there to the Central Line (Westbound) and get off at Oxford Circus, Bond Street or Marble Arch (all on Oxford Street), depending on where you want to go. Alternatively, from Golders Green station take the 82 bus direct to Oxford Street (Selfridges/Marks & Spencer), towards the west end of the street. That's what we usually do. Either way, travel time from the hotel will be at least 45 minutes (big city!).

"We had room 12, it's located at the back but the hotel is on a quiet street so I can't imagine noise would be a problem in any room."

"Check out the size of the room you have booked to verify that both you and your suitcases can fit in."
