Turning up outside the hotel, I had a feeling this would be a dated hotel, overpriced and run down. The outer appearance is of an old, grey building crammed between a couple other hotels on the South bank of the Thames. Nothing exciting.

Well, one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Opening the ‘pages’, a very warm welcome was given by Eva. Delightful and professional, she took care of a swift check in, setting the standard for what was to come. I had the chance to take a look into the POTUS bar which is cosy, well appointed, and has an excellent range of cocktails, wines, and importantly for a Scotsman, whisky!

Up to the room, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are small which is typical for a central London property - but into this modern space they have thoughtfully placed just about every conceivable amenity. Akin to a Swiss Army knife. I found a shoe horn and suit brush, and even an umbrella! The bathroom was modern and I am quite jealous of the push button shower, which was warm and well pressured. Everything about the room and bathroom said ‘good design for the space’ to me. The bed was extremely comfortable, and a turn down service in a Crowne Plaza - highly unusual for UK.

I had dinner in the Lebanese/ Japanese restaurant, which was exquisite. A good, reasonable wine list, excellent view and outstanding service accompanied brilliant food - better than many Lebanese restaurants I have eaten in, in the Middle East. I chose the Japanese steak which was simply delicious.

The POTUS bar was cosy and excellent as well. Eduardo provided perfect, discreet, friendly and professional service.

Being a typical Scotsman, if I am paying £250 for a night I want good value for money, even in a prime location. The Crowne Plaza London Albert Embankment delivered. On EVERY level.

Recently booked three rooms while attending our son's wedding. Thought it may have been a little out of the way as nearest tube station ( Vauxhall ) is around 10 minutes walk away. As we used Uber and black cabs, this didn't matter, and Waterloo is only a 20 minute stroll along the waterfront. ( Uber from Euston was £12, to Clapham £15) A bus stop is directly outside the hotel that would take you most places.

The hotel is modern and all three rooms, along with public spaces, were spotlessly clean. The rooms were all slightly different, which was a change from the usual identical hotel rooms so favoured by chains.

There is a bar and restaurant on the top floor of the hotel, which is worth visiting. Great view from the full length picture windows. We also ate a wonderful breakfast in the ground floor POTUS restaurant.

It is the staff that makes this hotel stand out from other hotels however. Without exception, they were all charming, helpful and professional. A complete delight.

Thank you to all the staff at Crowne Plaza, Albert Embankment, for making our stay so pleasurable.

I was here for a weekend trip for just the one night and requested (and got) a nice room with City view and early check in as we were arriving early at the airport.

From London City, you can reach the hotel via the DLR and bus 344 in about 50 minutes or so with the bus stopping right in front of the hotel so very convenient. For some reason Google Maps initially placed the hotel further down the road so be aware of that.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff (the fact that we could chat a bit in Italian helped), explaining everything well and quickly. As we were early, gave us the chance to leave our luggage in the room and then hit the city.

The room (1210) had a good view (windows are somewhat small) and was decent in size with good facilities including a decent shower (that's not always the case in hotels). No bath but who needs that.

Beds are good, even if a bit short (I'm 1,95m). slept like a baby. What is always a surprise in most hotels that there are no Dutch channels on television. Certainly not a deal breaker but strange given the number of Dutch speaking travellers.

Breakfast is good and served until late in the weekends. After check-out, we left the luggage until we returned to the airport for our trip back home.

All-in-all, a pleasant place to stay for business and leisure travelers alike.

I took a visiting family member with me for a three night weekend stay. The winter off season rate was appealing. I was pleasantly surprised by the Crown Plaza Albert Embankment. I live not far away and have passed the property many times. It may not be in the west end but very easily accessible by foot to Vauxhall Tube/ Bus Station and there are direct buses outside to Vauxhall, Waterloo, Pimlico and Elephant and Castle. Within a short walk there are buses to many central areas. Quick and easy check in, very helpful staff. We had road/ river facing view with sight of the Houses of Parliament. The twin room was small in size, nicely appointed with small shower/bath etc. Towels of good quality. The bed comfort was a real plus. I wish I could have stayed in bed for longer. This is always a good sign for comfort. I liked the breakfast which abundant choice and very tasty which was included in the rate. The staff were very polite, professional and helpful. They really made us feel welcome. I would have no hesitation in staying again.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would.
The staff are amazing! Knowledgeable, friendly, kind and their attention to detail goes above and beyond.
I was here in London for 5 days for a visa. As a woman on my own I was a little fearful but they made me feel safe and well looked after.
They checked on me every day to ask how I was doing, if I needed anything, and made sure my room received the fresh towels every day, the daily spurcing and complimentary tea and coffee and waters. They also helped me with getting around London and gave excellent recommendations of how to spend my free time in the city.

The room was clean and fresh, and the decor was up to date and maintained well. You have temperature control in room and 2 buttons at the door, one to signal do not disturb and the other to signal that you wish for your room to be visited by House keeping.
The shower. The shower was amazing in my room, with a ceiling rain shower and a separate shower head, with amazing water pressure, the shower has non slip surface and spacious and of course very clean with shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. The towels were soft and warm from the in bathroom heater.

Food: I only tried Potus while I was here this time. But it was exquisite. I highly recommend the 12oz Sterloin (cooked exactly how you ask) or the Scottish Salmon. Both were mouth watering.
The bar and waiting staff knew their products well, as well as what was available on the menu and had excellent recommendations.
I saw 2 events while I was there, the Halloween party, which boasted a full buffet and a dj, and on my last night, the Jazz night was amazing, the band were fantastic and the performance fit the atmosphere perfectly.
The only thing I didn't care for too much was the continental breakfast but that is just my personal preference, but even when I was there the standard was high on quality and cleanliness.

If you are visiting Londom the Crown Plaza on the Albert Embankment is the place to stay. I was treated extremely well and am already looking to visit again. You will be well looked after here and made to feel like you are the most important person to them.

The staff deserve high commendations. They take this place from a good hotel to an excellent one.

My wife and I stayed here on a Saturday evening. Everything from arrival to departure was excellent. Staff are very good and very helpful, room was great and the restaurant on the 15th floor offered both amazing views and amazing food.
For a relatively small charge we upgraded to a club room which came with a number of attractive benefits.
Would definitely recommend this hotel, location makes it a good choice.
Special shout out to Simona who really went out of her way to look after us!

Nice location for business or tourist visits to London. Walking distance along Embankment to Palace of Westminster and south bank in 20-15 minutes. Front facing rooms looking over the Thames have great views and in a relatively quiet location. Rooms are not that large but bathrooms recently refurbished to high standard. Club lounge is in basement without natural light but nice room and selection of hot and cold breakfast options. Service throughout hotel friendly and helpful. Nice independent restaurant on top floor serving Lebanese and Japanese food with superb views. Worth a visit.

I had a nice weekend night stay at the hotel after it opened following an extended closure during the Covid Pandemic.

The hotel is located right across Lambeth bridge on the south bank of the Thames, a 15 minute walk from the London Eye.

Check in was quick and efficient although as a Spire Ambassador, I was not asked whether I wanted drinks or points as a welcome amenity and was just handed a drink voucher.

The hotel is very modern and the rooms are well equipped. I received a nice upgrade to a river view room. Although the room was billed as a King Room, the bed certainly felt more like a double rather than a king sized bed. I was impressed with the Antipodes bathroom amenities provided in large reusable containers.

Although the room, overall, was very clean, the toilet bin had not cleared from previous guest. Mistakes happen but this was certainly a disappointing oversight! Otherwise the room itself was very modern, everything operated by the touch of a button. There was also a desk for working on and a sitting area with a small table by the floor to ceiling window overlooking the river.

The hotel has a bar on the ground floor to the side of reception called POTUS as well as a rooftop bar/restaurant. The latter is not integrated with the hotel so you cannot add things to your room bill but offers nice views from the outside terrace. Service was a little slow and being that it was a little cold outside, we didn’t stay for long.

All in all, a very pleasant stay which could improve vastly with just a little more attention to detail.

Stayed at this hotel with my partner to see a phantom of the operah. It's one of the best hotels in London. We was offered an upgrade to river view at extra cost which we took. We was put on 8th floor and Waw wasn't disappointed. The staff was amazing from the moment we walked in. The room itself had everything in it you could want. Though snack bar was very over priced but it's London. Breakfast was included and we was offered continental breakfast along with hot breakfast. I like a milky coffee in the mornings and staff knew excatly what I wanted. The attention to detail was above and beyond and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. If you wanted to stay in London but wanted to be away from it all I'd strongly recommend that you try this place. With Westminster and houses of parliament just ten minutes walk away and 20 minutes walk to Trafalgar Square it's not far from the excitement.
