We spent 3 nights here in a 1 bedroom open plan suite. We arrived early and check in staff were polite, the room was not ready but there is free tea and coffee available all day in the lobby area and is quite a nice area is sit and wait.

Room: The bed was in the 1st half of the room and I always find Marriott beds and pillows comfortable. The bathroom was also this side with a large hand wash, shampoo, body wash and conditioner. Only showers available in this hotel though. There is a wardrobe with iron and safe inside.
The 2nd half of the room is divided by a partition and had a 2 seater sofa, a kitchenette with kettle, toaster, hob, fridge, oven/microwave combo, and dishwasher. We only used the oven but did find although there were some saucepans to use there was no oven tray which would have been useful. There was a small table for 2 people but oddly only one chair. There is a TV in both the lounge and bedroom area but only one remote to use between the 2 tv’s. Aircon worked well in our room.

Location: We have stayed in this area before and really like this location it was a 10 minute walk to earls court tube (Warwick road side) and both the Piccadilly and District lines go from here. Also there are lots of restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. We enjoyed La Pappardella for a casual Italian meal. There is also a 24 hour Tesco right next door.
We travel to London using National Express and had booked to Victoria and realised when the driver stopped to let a few people off at Earls Court the stop is right near the hotel so jumped off at this stop instead which was great.

Breakfast: Is included in the room rate and has a good selection on offer including cooked items, pancakes, cereal, fruit, pastries, cheese, ham, salad, toast, juices. There are bags and containers to use if you wish to take your breakfast back to your room instead of eating downstairs which is great.

Cons: No major issues but a couple of niggles, problems with lifts and when we checked out only the service lift at the back of the hotel was working as both lifts by reception were out of service and I also could not use mobile data on my phone in the room at all and Marriott do not offer free wifi to all there guests still.

We would stay here again as we like the location and we found the separate seating area really nice in the evenings.

Note: House keeping is on request, although I am quite happy to make up my own bed.

Dear JJVADorset, Many thanks for your very constructive feedback. I was very pleased you had a positive experience. To address the lift challenge we have had. Both lifts are back in service after a fault that needed a part. Like always, the part needed to be ordered adding to our frustration and that of our customers. Wifi is free in both public and guest rooms, there is an upgraded wifi which is free to all bonvoy rewards club members and you should have been offered this when you arrived. I will reiterate this with the front desk team members. Your feedback was about as insightful as we have received in a very long time and provides us a real opportunity to improve so my sincere thanks for taking the time to share you views on our hotel and hopefully when you are next in the area you'll come back to see the improvements we have made. Kind Regards Ross Ferguson General Manager

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Marriott Residence in Kensington. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette and a TV in every room much to the kids delight!
The location is great being a few mInutes walk to the underground with the practicality of a large Tesco literally next door. The road noise is pretty loud but as to be expected in a city - bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!
Very few minor issues - one of our showers would leak all over the floor as the seal was faulty. I knew this couldn’t be fixed easily so we just used the other bathroom and advised reception on our departure so the issue could be rectified before the next occupants arrived.
Only 3 coffee pods are provided for each stay regardless of length. 3 pods is not adequate for 4 people for 4 nights. Guests should be advised of this before their arrival so they can plan accordingly, First World problem.
I would suggest that a tea towel and dustpan and brush are provided for the apartment as you only have a bathroom towel to dry dishes and there is no way of sweeping up crumbs etc.
Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. It can get very busy at times but the hotel staff work incredibly hard to provide good service.
We would definitely stay again.

After seeing such mixed reviews, I was quite hesitant to stay here with my family. I really hoped management's comments that they were working to improve/train the cleaning staff were true.

So, it was with great relief after checking in, to find our two-bedroom/two-bath suite was clean! The bedrooms were cramped and there was no place/dresser to put our clothes. One room had a wardrobe but it could only be opened partially. There was nowhere to plug in their hair dryer in the bathrooms, so we had to use it in the living room. It took a little trial and error to figure out how to flush the toilets (no directions) and use the microwave (directions provided). We knew they only changed towels daily/emptied garbage and changed bedding every few days.

Breakfast was great. Very consistent with what we expected from Residence Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed having hot food. The croissants were the best. Coffee machines offering espresso and other varieties were really nice. And a huge plus was having soya milk or almond milk available for those of us who are lactose intolerant.

I really appreciated the complimentary washers and dryers in the laundry room in the basement. Took awhile to figure how to program them but there were other people there who helped me.

The front desk personnel and the breakfast staff (kudos to Sara for our hot chocolate!) were always gracious and helpful.

If we ever visit this area of London again, we would definitely stay here.

Pleasure trip to London in early February 2020, 6 people, 2 children and 4 adults including a wheelchair.
We have stayed in two separate rooms which are welcoming, spacious and easy for wheelchair users and equipped with all the comforts provided by the residence with the possibility of consuming in the room.
Taking advantage of the night and breakfast formula, we found an international and rich buffet with good hourly extension to enjoy it.
Sara (with a passion for music), Serena, Valentina ... all truly professional dining room staff but at the same time very prepared and friendly, they made us feel good.
Quiet location, away from the main tourist spots but still served by public transport, very close, and the metro nearby.
As a group and in a wheelchair, we have always moved well.

We stayed just one night but it was enough to know that this hotel is superb value. Staff are friendly and helpful without being obsequious, the location is good, just 7 mins walk from Earls Court underground and an easy walk to Kensington High Street, Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens etc. Most of all I love the 10th floor suite we chose - spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable with oven, hob, fridge, utensils, kettle and toaster plus a coffee maker. Then there's the balcony accessible from both the living area and the separate bedroom plus a tv in both rooms. Because of Covid-19 breakfast is served from a counter and you take it to your room and it's good quality buffet style with bacon, hash browns and omelette, bread to toast in your room, croissants etc. Next time I hope to stay longer.

We chose this hotel as we wanted a room that was bigger than the norm for a fair price but in a good location for getting around London. Two adults and two kids - age 13 and 9 and the room was spot on for the we spent in there. Couple of minor grumbles, they know from the booking there was four but only cutlery for two, only three towels. Quick call to house keeping sorted it. As the room had its own oven could have down with oven try and oven gloves or a kitchen towel. As the weather was very hot we kept our air con on which was needed for when we returned. Our booking included breakfast and there was loads of choices hot and cold, full English to fruit, with options to pick stuff up and take out.
Location wise great, 8 mins walk from Earls Court where you have two tube lines Piccadilly and District. Right next to a Tesco if you need to pick things up. Couple of pubs near by Famous Three Kings and Builders Arms. You know you are in an ok area when houses are £10m+ . Overall great place to stay.

I don't usually give negative feedback but our experience was not great.

Firstly, I want to say that the hotel is modern, the rooms are nice and comfortable. However, the front desk service is "not good to actually pretty bad".

The only reason that I can confidently say that the front desk service was bad is that 3 people in my group have worked in the hotel industry for years.

We arrived early and saw that it was very busy. We completely understood that we would have to wait for our 3 pm check-in time.

However, 3 pm came and the room wasn't ready. So we waited. We understood how it can be. 3:30 pm then 3:45 pm came and the rooms weren't ready and when we asked about them they didn't even have them on the priority of things to be cleaned. It also seemed like the day and night shift were switching, so the manager seemed to be passed us off to the afternoon manager.

4:00 pm came and we asked about the rooms and they legit didn't know what we were talking about. In the meantime, other people who came in after us were checking in and going to their rooms.

We were very confused. 4:30 came and the room still wasn't ready. Finally, the afternoon manager/front desk could see our frustration so he went to the rooms to clean them himself which we appreciate.

By the time our rooms were ready, it was almost 5 pm. Then they just handed us the room keys and said your luggage is over there. That was it. I'm not one to expect an apology, but if I were them, I would have said something.

It was a very weird unfriendly experience. Sadly, I won't be recommending Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington to anyone. There are comparable hotels to choose from in the neighborhood. I wouldn't start with Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington when looking for a place to stay in London.

Dear danomaxwell Many thanks for your detailed and constructive feedback. 3 stars flattered us greatly, it should have been a 1 star so thanks for your kindness but frankly the service levels you experienced were at best poor and at worst downright awful. Lack of thought, lack of care and lack of urgency. I apologise sincerely for the issues, its embarrassing and something I will be addressing with the front desk team this afternoon at our handover meeting. I am glad you highlighted this because I can go about addressing this issue now and prevent it happening again but I am only sorry it had to happen to you before action is taken. If you're in the area again, please let me know so I can try and win back your custom and show you what the hotel services are really like. Kind Regards Ross Ferguson General Manager

Things we loved, location 5 min walk to Earl’s Court tube, parking was great at Tesco next door and reasonable cost for 3 nights (£40) Hotel was clean, modern and breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. Only had to knock it down 1 point as neither of the two rooms we had, had remote controls for the 4 TVs… so we had to request them. There was nothing left to clean with so we couldn’t wipe clean our surfaces after cooking, and as it’s a self catering room there was no pots or pans to cook with which was disappointing. Also no bin in the rooms so after 3 days and 5 of us lots of rubbish and with no room cleaning it was not great :-( mini dishwasher was good but again no tablets to use with it and no clothes to wash the pans so I question how clean they are for next guests. Apart from that we would defiantly come back, rooms were more than suitable for family’s or
4. Thanks for a great stay.

Chose this hotel as it fitted with locations we wanted to visit in London. Easilly accessed from Earls Court or Kensington High Street tube stations it is a great location for visiting the museums which are about 15-20 minutes walk. Appartment was well presented with everything we need, it was also spotlessly clean and warm.
Breakfast was a bit hectic finding a table but once seated the breakfast offered was really good with plenty of choice. All the staff we came into contact with were polite and very helpful. Will happily stay here again on our next visit to London.

Modern new building, well apportioned rooms, and with Kensington location, easy 30 min access to Heathrow and two tube stations 0.5 miles away for rides into other London destinations.

The Great:
1. Suite rooms with fridge, kitchenette. A big tesco supermarket next door makes it easy to get supplies
2. Location is good comprise between Heathrow and the City. I normally stay stay further in but pay for it in the extra 45 min ride by car to / from airport.
3. Fitness wise, a full gym (with barbells/dumbells/machines) plus 1.5 miles to Hyde Park if you would like to get an outdoor run in
4. Their breakfast if pretty comprehensive if you get the package. Hotel was busy with lots of guests (as i could estimate how long the elevator would take in the morning) but they have lots of room at breakfast and nothing ran out.
5. Attention to detail with the 4 ice cold dispensers of various flavored zinc/vitamin c and fruit drinks in the lobby, along with fresh fruit.

The two things I can't understand how they overlook and well below a global chain standards:
1. No sanitizing wipes, paper towels, or regular towels in the fitness center. None. This has nothing to do with pandemic. I have never been to a fitness facility that didn't have these basic supplies in the gym. I used the facility 4 times and nothing, despite me asking them. Its as if they don't care. I don't know how this escapes the attention of the franchise quality team.

2. Their staff are friendly when you are in front of them, but they are not trained to use the chat function of the marriott app. They answer but not to the problem you may inquire for assistance. They may take a day to respond (it happened twice) and when they do , its normally something irrelevant like 'we hope you got the problem resolved and all is well'. They assume you have taken some other route to resolution and don't understand the purpose of the chat. This happened twice so its not an issue with a specific associate but how they are all trained.
