Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have stayed in this travelodge 3 times now. Welcoming staff, clean, quiet environment. Family and triple rooms available, bonus if travelling with friends. Convenient to tube, easy to get to main attractions. Breakfast buffet handy and kept well stocked.

Stayed here last week for a short work trip, and couldn't have asked for more. Hotel is clean, bed comfortable and good options for breakfast (incl vegan). Staff all friendly and helpful, Jade on reception was brilliant and was very welcoming when I checked in. Good location too, lots of restaurants nearby and only round the corner from the tube. Will definitely stay again.

I stay at the London City branch once every week due to business in the area. I’m always greeted at reception with a warm welcome from Jade, who often upgrades my room from a standard room to a super room if there is availability and I haven’t pre-booked this type of room beforehand. There’s nothing Jade hasn’t helped me with, from logging onto the WiFi when having difficulties, to leaving my luggage for the day before my check-in time. The rooms are always well kept, clean bedding, bathroom and carpets. I appreciate the low noise levels, especially when staying on floors 6 and 7. Thank you London City - keep up the great service.

The room was clean, quiet, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Our family stayed in a room with 4 beds, and it was very small. There was no room for luggage at all and wet coats were hanging over one of the beds. Three people would have fit in there fine, for four it was cramped. Breakfast is inexpensive, but not very attractive. The scrambled eggs and bacon were dry, fruits in the fruit salad were tasteless and the croissants and pancakes were not fresh. So you get to eat but it’s not a joy. I would prefer “less is more” with better quality. Location is great.

The room was in a very dirty condition, with stains all over the carpet. I even found nail clippings from previous guests lying around. The shower support was broken, making it very uncomfortable to use. The bathroom had no toilet brush. To my surprise, the rooms are not cleaned daily but only once a week. If I had known this beforehand, I would never have booked here. Luckily, the location of the hotel is good and it is quiet.

The Travelodge London City offers a pleasant stay with a balance of affordability and comfort. The staff, notably Jade during check-in, were consistently polite and helpful, enhancing the experience. The rooms are adequately furnished and reasonably priced, catering to budget-conscious travelers. The hotel is conveniently located to tube stations and is a short walk from some interesting and trendy areas such as Brick Lane, Shoreditch and Leadenhall Market. However, there are areas for improvement. While towels were replaced, used ones were occasionally left on the bathroom floor, and beds were not made by cleaning staff. I also encountered issues with a shower head not staying in place, impacting the showering experience. Some furniture in the reception area appeared worn, detracting from the hotel's appeal. Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel's central location and friendly service make it a practical choice for London visitors.

Had a great time in London. The hotel was clean and had everything you would need. The staff are very friendly and always help you and look after you. If you are too early to check in they will let you leave your bags in the luggage room and the same if you are checking out but want to leave your bags. Third time I have stayed here and they have been great every time
