This is a charming and stylish hotel in a beautiful part of London. The decor is stunning and rooms are beautifully appointed. Some are super tiny (to be expected in London) so worth spending a little extra for some space. The dining room is stunning and the breakfast offering is one of the best I've seen. One of the few...

The Kensington Hotel is a very good hotel located a short 5 minute walk from South Kensington station. A reasonably healthy person could walk in good weather to Gloucester Rd (Da Maria!), Knightsbridge (Harrods!), Belgravia (Boisdale!), and Museums. But one stop on the tube or 5 minutes in a taxi could also cut the walking. Rooms are small as you...

We had a fabulous girls trip. The hotel was kind enough to let me do an early check in. Great view and location. Concierge's were lovely. Carpet was very old and stained, but bed was awesome. Had an issue as bar could not handle a large group for cocktails and had no back up so the waitress encouraged us to...

Booked an afternoon tea for four at the Kensington about a month ago. It was to be part of a fun day in London with friends. The day was fun but the afternoon tea wasn't. I was first contacted by the hotel since they wanted to change out booking time. I found this pretty strange since we had booked a...

Absolutely a gem of a hotel and experience. From the moment you pop out of your cab you are greeted with a smile and genuine feel as you are whisked to the front desk for a speedy and friendly check in. Rooms are gorgeous as well as the hotel lobby with outstanding service and attention to detail. Location is great!!

Myself and my husband visited The Kensington hotel today to experience the Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea and it was very enjoyable. The hotel has a beautiful ambience, the food was delicious and had been very well planned to link with the film. There were many unique and special touches that any fan of the film will find truly...

This hotel has a wonderful location, very near the tube, many museums and a wonderful variety of restaurants. Our room (206) was small albeit comfortable. The staff is cheerful and helpful to the best of their ability. However we experienced several glitches with regard to service: 1. The first night we were delighted to receive a chocolate on our pillows,...

It's a great experience in this hotel. I can't imagine visiting London without staying at the Kensington Hotel. The room, the services, the incredible bar and cocktails, the delicious breakfast in the incredible decor, the one and only Doorman Martins, make my journey always unique. Thank you.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
